I noticed a van approaching me and I yelled out and ran towards it. "Help!" I screamed, with blood pouring down my perfect face

"You see Val? Life has a funny way of working; One second, everything's all sunshine and rainbows, the next, that sunshine suddenly starts a brush fire from the searing heat, or those rainbows are covered up by clouds that end up pouring down enough rain to cause a flash flood. But that stuff's normal. This? People fucking EATING each other? That shit ain't normal!" A man somewhere around seven miles down the road from the group of survivors shouted to seemingly no one as he tried to hot wire a car. There was a shuffling inside of the bag next to the man, who from hence forth would be known as Dimitri, and a small orange head with beady black eyes poked out with a small hiss. Dimitri sat back with a frustrated sigh, it figured that for all his expertise in vehicle repair, he couldn't manage a task like hot-wiring, more of that funny way of life working Dimitri figured. The man turned to the small head in his duffel back and pointed to the car's dashboard, "Well? You got any suggestions or do you intend to just sit there?", the head of course, didn't respond, instead it merely withdrew back into the confines of the bag, "As always you've proven to be as helpful as ever Valentine..." Dimitri muttered sarcastically. Not that he truly expected help in the first place, last time he checked, snakes weren't exactly renowned for their engineering skills, however the dry attempt at humor did help to cut the tension a bit. Dimitri let out another sigh and slumped a bit, there weren't any zombies nearby, so for now he figured he might as well rest until he came up with something. "Fuck life's way of working.".

Ginger looked out at the quiet houses, glancing over at Jack when he heard the sadness in his voice. He wasn't sure how to comfort someone, especially with something so heavy like this. Everyone was hurting with lost loved ones, there wasn't anyway around it. Ginger sighed and directed his attention towards Roxy, who seemed like a very sensible person. Ginger tried to identify the people in the back, but most were strangers. "Um, yeah that sounds good. I'll go with Jack, you guys can figure out the rest." He said, leaning back in his seat before glancing at Jack.

Jack stopped the car and broke into a smile "Ok this is our stop" he says glad he had ginger as a partner. He patted gingers cheek and stepped out. "ok me and ginger will take this house here, and you others take the surrounding ones. Watch each others backs ok. Make sure you all have a partner" Jack grabbed gingers hand and pulled him into the house before peeking his head out the door "Good luck" He yelled, then slammed the door. he turned toward the empty house. He squeezed gingers hand as he was getting a little nervous. "You know when its just "too" quiet...." He whispered close to gingers ear. He let got of gingers hand and grabbed his battle-axe. He swung his battle axe like a baseball bat and nailed the zombie in the face. His faced crunched and he lay bloody and motionless on the floor. Jack gave Ginger a smile

Jack led him by the hand towards the house. He barely had time to grab his own weapon. He looked over his shoulder at the van. "I hope they'll be okay, I know that Roxy girl will be, though." He commented, mostly talking to himself. When they reached the house he tensed, feeling out anxious Jack was getting as he squeezed Ginger's hand. Ginger returned a shaky smile, "It scares me a bit how you kill them so easily." He admitted, glancing down at the bloody mess. "Anyways, let's go the kitchen."

"Sure, why not" Norman said. He walked towards a few houses until he found one that was unlocked. I'll go upstairs, you go downstairs, okay?". While walking in the house he found a school backpack. While taking everything out of it, a zombie attacked him. He threw the bag at the zombie, then he took out his knife, slashed a few times but the zombie knocked the knife out of his hands, and he got knocked to the ground. He gouged out the zombies eyes with his thumbs, and pushed the zombie onto the ground, and he stomped on the zombie until he was sure that the zombie was dead. "That was a close one" Norman muttered under his breath. He looked through a few cabinets that were in the bathroom. He found some medicine and an empty water bottle that had some blood on it. He filled up the water bottle at the sink, and put both stuff in the bag. "Hey dude, I think that there is at least one other zombie somewhere in this house, because I found one up here, and the zombie probably wouldn't have left the house" Norman yelled down to Daniel.

Roxy looked up and down the street and then at the others. Four had already partnered off and headed out. She wondered if anyone would volunteer to go with her or if she would have to grab someone.

Sydney looked through every cupboard in the little suburban house. She had found some cans but other than that there wasn't much food she could take with her. She was grateful for just the slightest food, though,
The sudden sound of someone yelling made Sydney freeze. That was definitely not a zombie. Could it really be survivors? She slowly closed the cupboard she was standing in front of and listened carefully. Yes, the voices definitely belonged to humans.
Sydney took her bag and rifle that she had dumped on the kitchen table and walked out to the hallway. She stood in front of the front door for a few seconds, wondering if she really should go outside. She had no idea who these people were or how many they were. But with her rifle in her hands, she carefully opened the door and looked outside. Down the street she spotted a van and a few survivors.
Sydney pushed the door open with her shoulder and stepped out on the porch, then she walked down the stairs and out onto the street where she stopped, her face facing the van and survivors down the street.

Roxy noticed the woman come out of one of the houses. But she didn't approach. While she though every person should band together for survival. Not everyone agreed. Roxy flashed one of her knives so that the other girl would know she was armed. Roxy yelled a greeting. "Hello."

Jack heard some commotion outside. He stopped hesitating. "Ok so there are an odd number of people....so that means one person could be left. You think we should check it out?" He suggested. "These zombies killed my family...this is my house" he told ginger. He jerked his head toward the kitchen and heard some rummaging. "Lets clear this house then we will see what's going on. If something loud occurs, we need to go out immediately" Jack smiled and chuckled, making the last few words sound like he was asking ginger out. He nodded to ginger ready to pounce whoever was behind the corner.

Ginger frowned, taking a glance around the house. Trying to imagine what Jack would look like in a normal situation. He couldn't see it clearly, seeing him in a normal setting felt strange. He followed him to the corner tense, a smile tugged at his lips at Jack's last comment. It did make him chuckle, but he was more focused on the rummaging. Ginger gripped his machete tightly, craning his neck to see better in the kitchen.

Jack jumped and swung the battle-axe at whatever it was. A screech was followed by death, and blood spreading on the floor. "Poor Rex" he whispered. "this was my dog, but I couldn't take any chances" He says tears welling up in his eyes. He sulked toward the stairwell, now that they were finished with the bottom floor.

Ginger grimaced, feeling that horrible sick feeling in his stomach again. He walked around the dog, glancing over at Jack before going into the kitchen. He grabbed nonperishable food, stuffing it into his pockets. Ginger turned around, and went to join Jack by the stairs. He silent, shifting uneasily from foot to foot as he stood beside Jack. Ginger sighed heavily, reaching out and giving Jack's hand a squeeze of comfort. "I'm sorry..." He said quietly, "Do you wanna continue to search the house or just leave?"

A smile grew on Jacks face. He tapped Gingers nose "We cant leave, were not tree's" He said laughing. he pulled Ginger up stairs and went into the bathroom. Nothing there, so he pulled him into the master bedroom. Again he heard heavy breathing. He gripped his battle-axe tightly, and heard a groan then shuffling. He went around the courner and came face to face with his mom. His dad, had a bullet wound to his head. He grabbed his mom, snapped her neck and swung her out the window with a crash, then a thump outside. He stumbled onto the bed, looking at the floor. He let his battle-axe fall to the floor, letting his hand slide out of ginger's. He was almost to the breaking point. He practically killed his whole family...

Ginger flinched, frightened by the brutality Jack had done. He was afraid he would see a smile on Jack's face, but it was obvious he was really hurting from this. Ginger let out a sigh of relief, grimacing at the dead man who Ginger assumed to be Jack's father. Ginger shifted uneasily, still standing by the doorway. There wasn't much for Ginger to do, he could not connect with Jack for he never really had a family nor had he lost any like that. Ginger was uncomfortable with all of this, but he forced himself to approach Jack. He took a seat next to him, trying to offer comfort. "Jack, let's just go and find the others."

Dimitri's eyes snapped open as the rather unpleasant sound of hissing filled the car he was in. He'd fallen asleep, Dimitri figured that his lack of sleep within the last 24 hours paired with the stress of the day prior had left him more exhausted than he'd originally thought. That wasn't the problem though, the problem was the two feet of audibly distressed snake coiled up in the duffel bag. Dimitri quickly scooped up his crow bar and looked around nervously, having learned not too long after the out break that the scent of the undead drove Valentine crazy, on the one hand, it made the little serpent and excellent early warning system, on the other, it now meant that Dimitri had company. "Shit...shit shit shit shit!" Dimitri growled out as he made out a few shuffling silhouettes in the rear view mirror of the car he was in. There were far too many to take on alone, that is unless one was determined to die, something Dimitri had made a point of NOT doing. The man muttered another string of curses for whatever twisted deity thought this to be amusing and scooped up his duffel bag. Before his brain could register much else, Dimitri was running as fast as his legs could take him. It didn't matter were he went at this point, so long as it was away from the living dead.

"There is nothing left up here" Norman called down to Daniel. "I'm going to be waiting outside for you, got it?". Norman went outside, where a zombie came up from behind. Norman quickly pushed the zombie into the side of the house and stabbed him right in the eye. After few minutes, he saw someone running down the street, and saw some zombies chasing after him. He went up to one of the zombies, and stabbed it in the head, and pushing another zombie down to the ground. He saw another one and stabbed it. The one that he pushed down grabbed his leg, and he fell, dropping the knife. He kicked the zombie in the head, but it wouldn't let go. He smacked the zombie in the head with the backpack, and then it finally let go. He then picked up his knife and stabbed the zombie right between the eyes.

When Norman went upstairs, Daniel scouted out the downstairs first. There was nobody in the living room, the downstairs bathroom or the little bedroom, probably a guests room. There however was a zombie in the kitchen, two actually. One was at the sink, at the other end of the kitchen. The other one was right around the corner. When Daniel walked in, he got grabbed by the zombie from the side. Before he could harm Daniel, Daniel swung his hatchet into the skull of the zombie, tearing the brain. The hatchet was stuck in the zombie's skull, so Daniel started throwing javelins. Four javelins: a miss, a hit in the left shoulder, a miss and a hit in the forehead. Not the best peformance, but enough to stop the dead from moving. Dacniel salvaged the three useable javelins, one broke. He also pulled his hatchet out of the zombie's brain. At this point, Daniel was covered in blood. There were no zombie's left downstairs, and Daniel started scavenging in the same order as he head scouted. In the living room, he found some used batteries, which he got from random objects like tv remotes; a flashlight with enough charge, and some cleaning supplies. In the bathroom he found some useless chemicals, which he didn't bring with him. In the kitchen, there were 2 tins of beans, 5 tins of canned fruit, a full one-and-a-half litre bottle of soda and a sixpack of water bottles. He also washed his hands and face at the sink. When scouting the kitchen, Daniel noticed the broken window, probably how the first zombie got in. He had looted the complete downstairs and went outside to meet with the others.
