[IC] False Paradise

Nightfall starts to decend upon Paradise City and if one has been vigilant, something “off” is quite apparent, a taboo subject from which smiling locals shy away. The subject of all this angst is the so called, “Underworld” that is said to lie underneath Paradise City.

All the information on this touchy subject can be found on paper fliers that are on the occasional lamp post or wall. These fliers do not stay up very long as flying cleaner drones tend to snatch them up along with any other trash. If you do happen to get your hands on one of these fliers before it is swept away, this is what you will read:

The Underworld Beckons

Something feel “off” about Paradise City?

Feel like there is more than meets the eye?

There is!

Do not be fooled! Do not be complacent! Do not FORGET!!!

Explore Paradise City’s back alleys long enough and you will eventually find the door to the “Underworld”. But the “Underworld” is not for the faint of heart. First we will need to prepare you, to make you stronger. And when you finally reach the end, you will be ready. You will be closer to the TRUTH!

NOTE: Each character must be at least Lv. 3 to participate in this quest, and the combined level of your party must be 6 or above. In other words, a party of two is the easiest route. If you don't meet these requirements, the man behind the door to the underworld won't let you pass.

After getting kitted out with some essentials, it's turned to evening in the city.

Mira has snagged herself some comfortable shorts and a sports top, along with running shoes and climbing gloves, and stretches her legs for the first proper run in some time. She's also picked up a home, and swapped numbers with her new companions, plus a flashlight, Swiss Army knife, and a collection of other toys. What would be the most expensive tool, if any of them cost money, is a miniature camera drone not much bigger than her phone, to follow her about and take video.

The first of these videos is being streamed on the city's Internet, as Mira begins climbing a tall building that looks like an Ancient Greek skyscraper, complete with columns and statues of the gods. She pauses on Zeus's knee to wave at the camera and catch her breath out of habit, before realising she's not even slightly exhausted.

It didn’t take long for him to notice as he cruised towards the outskirts of the city, and Sorano was quick to snatch a flyer he passed before one of the drones could snatch it away and dispose of it. His eyes scanned the information present before his eyes narrow in suspicion and his expression turns grim. “Well fuck me,” he muttered, folding the flyer and slipping it into a pocket. Apparently, yes, this place wasn’t all that it seemed to be.

With that in mind he continued to push the bike even as the sun began to set over the horizon. It was abrupt, but the next corner he rounded seemed to be the end of the city. As if an invisible line had been drawn in the ground, untouched land sat next to multi-story buildings and the wheels screeched as he slammed on the brakes. “What the…” It was more than a bit odd and he put the bike off to the side as he stepped off to investigate. It immediately became obvious that it wasn’t a line, but a wall that had been raised. His hands pressed against the unyielding air as he tried to step over to the untouched ground, and his frown grew.

“Right then…” he muttered as he pulled the flyer out from his pocket again. He read over it once more before he looked towards the various alleys and sighed. Well, might as well get started right now then.

Varian walked down the street, looking around the streets. He saw other people walk past him, he wondered, was he the only one that thought this was way too good to be true? He looked around, and inhaled the clean, fresh, cool, air. He then thought, he looked at his clothes. He couldn't remember what he did before he woke up here, so he wondered why he was wearing something so casual. It was a green coat with a scarf, navy blue finger less gloves, black jeans and a crooked belt, and some black and white shoes. It must've been winter where he lived, because this looked like something a person would wear in that season. He stopped next to a pole, a flyer? He thought. He grabbed the flyer, "Underworld..?" Varian wondered. A door that leads to the Underworld, you must be strong? Varian was puzzled. He stuffed the flyer in his pocket, just in case. He felt uneasy about this, he wasn't ready to know the truth, not just yet. He felt as if he wasn't strong enough to.

He knew something was strange. Was this a false paradise?

Varian climbed the building with ease. He was scared, why? It's not like he can break his neck. Varian sat on the building, and he looked at the sky. What the hell...he doesn't know how to feel about to place anymore. Is it really a Heaven, or is it a secret Hell. He can't figure it out, he pulled out the crumbled paper. Soon, he'll figure out the mystery of this place. Maybe not yet, but soon. He hoped he wasn't the only one thinking about this. Maybe, he could make a blog or something...if computers still exist that is. Wait...where's his phone? He doesn't have his iPhone20! What the hell!? Whoever dragged him here mugged him too, that sucks...alot.

If he's going to search this paradise (Or false paradise), he was going to need to know some things. For example, are there like some agency that keep the people that are aware like him in check, or kill them? Because that would be so cool, the funny thing is, they can't even kill anyone...except torture them..and trap them..forever. Okay, this isn't funny anymore. He ran off the building landing on another, expected to hear a crunch from his ankles, yet only his shoes hitting the concrete...
