It's late November, 2004, in Nerima, Tokyo, and something strange is about to happen. To the sounds of chimes new and old, several youths are whisked away into another world. They are the Digidestined, their task, gather and form the Royal Knights of Legend and cement their prophecy into reality!
Intrigue! A mysterious figure monitors their progress from the shadows! Is this watcher friend or foe? How does he/she know of the fledgling Chosen Children? And what does this mean for the newly hatched Digimon?
Okay, this is going to be a semi-realistic, somewhat serious Digimon RP,[we can have jokes, but plot-progression and character development are obviously targets, but not super grim and depressing] in which 10-13 human characters, played by as many players as we get, do the above- form the Royal Knights. Playing multiple characters will be allowed if the need arises. Now, there are currently all 13 cannon Knights revealed. Does that mean you're stuck with them? No. I'm allowing custom/non-cannon Knight like Digimon who are either already Holy Knight type, close enough to it, or a Warrior/Godman type. You can also design your own, just let me know about your choices and clear them with me first.
I'd like to point out that I'd rather there not be any heavy gore, such as detailed torture or removal/damage of human internal organs, or content involving heavy drug use. Not my type of reading, if ya know what I mean.
And I cited "2004", but that's a rough ballpark. What I'm saying is this particular reality's iteration of Nerima has some... quirks. Specifically, people tend to prefer desktop to laptop computers, mainly because portable battery life isn't quite tolerable yet. LCD/flat screen monitors are still viewed as top-of-the-line, and not everyone has them, and wireless service is unreliable, resulting in the city installing various red public access point computers on various street corners and in areas of commerce.(This will factor in to the plot.) Cellphones exist, but the app-capable smart phones haven't really become something that can be produced at the everyman's price. That being said, not much else will be really questioned if you bring it up, unless it sort of breaks something narrative wise.
Now, as for the Digimon aspect of things: Humans will be able to enter the Digital World basically at will after the first exposure, and are going to be partaking in various "missions" therein. The focus of a significant number of these missions will be to gather the required data to allow the Digimon to become the Royal Knights. The Royal Knight stage will be achieved via Biomerge Digivolution, as seen in Digimon Tamers, but all other forms will be standard Digivolution via the Digivice and an environmental catalyst, unless the inclusion of an item such as a Crest is deemed necessary or viewed as an improvement by the players as a majority.
Later on in the RP there will be a device which will help stabilize the DigiCore of the player Digimon, and will include a frame which is digitally inserted within the core, and maintained by an available human operative. There will also be uniform-like suits which will protect the humans from wildly varying conditions in the Digital World, which will be equipped upon entry.
Also, what do you think of this as the design for the Digivice?
