[IC] The Quest for Loki's Rebirth

Varia calmed down at Tony'swords, she knew better than to argue with HIM. And so they all started to think hard. Varia watched all of them arguing their plans. It was futile, nothing would stand against Thanos and titan stones.

"Give him what he wants." Varia steps into the middle of them all. "He expects us to fight back." She explained to them all. "Every bastard that comes here, wants to take us over. No offense." She shot Loki a glance. "Let's do something he will not expect us to do. Men like that, like to be in control, he cant be when he doesn't get what he was hoping for."

She folds her arms. "Maybe his obsession with Earth conquering will diminish once he thinks he has it. That's when we strike from behind."

"so pretty much your sayiong let the titan have earth are you INSANE Miss?" Barton demanded as Loki blinked gently and scratched his head gently and said "she might have a point, I mean it was Thor's return and the Hulks return that surpised me and threw me off my game easily" he said slowly as he was thinking, the only way they win is for the titan to release the gems.

Loki sighed softly "I have no clue if he intends to kill everryone though which is the wrong point as well he plans on attacjking Asgard as well. I have a feeling he is after me and thor the most for stopping his plans" muttersing gently as he scratched his head.

"so we just give him you and thor" hel said as that broke his heart "Hel" he said a bit surised at the coldness

Varia looks at Jane. Then back at Hel. "He wont stop at just Thor and Loki. He will want to hurt everyone they love. Including you, Hel." She sighs. "The people of Earth will be safe as long as we're all dead."

Loki thinks and then smiled "why......Not then make an illusion we all died in the middle of the fight then ? I am a magic user and Illusions are my best speicalty. Like the time me and thor had an idea and I ....magica;ly cut offr Thor'shand to get a plan set into motion" said Loki a smile on his face. hel sighed gently "I would like to see that titan try and kill me and fenrir we rip him to pieces"

"I would not like to even see him try." Varia says to Hel sadly. Loki would be inconsolable if that happened.

"I think the Trickster, is about to give his best performance yet." She smirked mischievously.

Loki looekd over "wait...Really I'm gonna do that ? Oh this is going to be so fun" he said clapping his hands but could see Hel was displeased. he went over to her and dropped to his knees and looked at her "what is wrong My dear young child?" he asked looking at her touching her cheek with his hand.

"YOU WERE NEVER THERE , you let them cast me out into Hell , You nevber faught for me ever, you let it happen to fenrir to" Hell yelled suddenly. Loki's heart broke into a million pieces "oh Hel, Oh my dear young one. I know I have done wrong But never have i ever stopped fighting to free you or ypur brothers. I asked the all mighty father endless times to bring you back , I begged for endless days and nights he wouldn't budge with his choice. But you ? I never stopped fighting for and none of my children i have never fought for. I fight for all my children one day to be set free. I love you, I never was able to save your mother and thats my fault and I am so sorry about that. But I do love every one of my children " he whispered softly to her as He;l eyes burned with tears but she turned away and huffed. Loki sighed and spoke.

"Forgive a lier, Oh please please forgive me, You don't know how much it wou;ld hurt if i never saw you again" he said as he stood up "think as you may But I will never let you get hurt anymore" he whispered as a tear fell as hel huffed and didn't look at him. fenrir whined slightly and wagged his tail slightly as hel walked back to fenrir.

Varia saw the pain, he suffered so. She was beginning to feel it within herself. A kind of empathy she had. It would do her no good. "And I'll fight for you too." She told Hel and Fenrir. Then looking at everyone else. "For all of you." She pledged and one by one all of the Avengers and SHIELD agents, Jane, Darcy, Selvig, everyone stepped in and said the same.

"We all have a part to play, so let's blow William Shakespeare out of all proportion that even the Gods would applaud." Varia was a mortal but deeply faithful, she believed in the Gods, and in miracles.

hel snorted as she looked away slightly, fenrir barked and nodded his head wagging his tail. Loki looked at the avengers and then at the city "then lets give them a show" he said slowly as he looked at hel and then gave her and fenrir a hug eyes shut tightly "I can't bare to loose you again hel so if i miust die in the end then I shall" he said as hel eyes widned slightly at those words but then ignored them, words where just words. fenrir licked Loki's face and then sighed gently .

"Now all we got to do is see if I can even pull off something that big" loki said slowly as he was unsiure even if his magic was good enough tp pull it off but he hoped there would be a way to do it.

Selvig ponders. He had the God inside his head and that made him even more of a genius. "We need a powerful image projector to feed Loki's illusions into." Jane nods knowing exactly what to get for him. "Let's assemble one then! Tony we need your expertise on this one."

"You got it!" Iron Man whisked the scientists away. Black Widow turns to Barton and then Varia. "We could use your help with the civs." Varia blinks, she was being given an opportunity to help the AVENGERS.

She nods. "Alright I'll do what I can." She served the people all her life, as a child to her philanthropist parents, raising money for those in need and now as a police officer she protected them.

The god sighed as he would have to think about how everyone would look if they are dead. he already had a nightmare of Thor's dead body so he could use that image but others it was diffcult and the thought of Fenrir and hel dead scared him . fenrir stod near hel who looked away slightly.

"I know its hard Daddy but...You have to try at least think of an image of us dead." whisered the wolf walking over and nuzzled the god who shuddered slightky

As Tony Stark and Selvig worked on the device that would be used city wide, Varia, Clint and Natasha ran through the building getting people out of the city in which Thanos would strike at first. Because thats where the Avengers were. That's where Thor and Loki were.

Thor flew the skies in patrol, ready to receive the first ships that arrive.

Tash turns to Varia. "No-one else knows right? Bout you and the Trickster?" She spoke as vaguely as she could.

"No!" She yells over the rushing crowds running around, the army were called in to help evacuate.

"Make sure it stays that way or you'll be dead first!" Barton yells and Varia nods at them both. "I fear you may be right about the dead part anyway." She couldn't help but laugh, maybe she had lost her mind.

The next day they got the city cleanred as they just finished the device the sky grew very very dark vert fast. Loki gulped as he gave the image to stark to make over the city when the time was right to make it look like Thanos won. hel had armor on and was ready, hel was ready a glowing red and black daggers in her pocket. Loki had his armor on as he swished arounf the city on the ice hoverboard thats when, BOOM, a large blast tore building apart swiftly. Lokin looked over and saw a mammoth of a ship and gulped landing near Thor and the other avengerss "Well Lets hope this works" he said softly.

Fenrir snarled deeply at the ship fangs bared deeply fur bristled as hel gave little to no care, this wasn't much then some stupid battle to fight. Thanos watched from the ship smirking gently "so the avengers still fight to save this planet I am shocked and my my my they got Loki hiw sweet" he grined darkly.

Thanos was accompanied by his daughter Nebula. "Filthy humans..." Since she had lost her battle to the Guardians when siding with Ronan she defected back to Thanos.

On the ground Thor sees the mother of all ships. "It will be heavily protected. So let's ignore the small fry best we can and move in to strike at the ship's heart, we need a hard and fast blow before the show begins, Brother." He tells him in a commanding way. Usually it would be Steve to give the orders. "I hope Heimdall and Father are holding up in Asgard..."

Smaller ships emerge and burst down into the city streets in a full out strike. Varia made her promise to Thor and she kept close to Jane. She also protected Pepper and Darcy in Stark Tower, where the device was held. It was the best central highest point to project out in the city. Varia could only watch as the army, the SHIELD agents and small aircraft became under attack hard and fast. She wished, like never before, that she had been gifted with some powers like the others. She was neither strong nor a genius. All she had was her resolve and...a gun. They waited as Nebula went straight for the Tower herself. The only thing that stood between her and the device were a handful of humans. As the big guns were going in for Thanos.

Loki sighed as his eyes glowed gently "then lets give them a hell of a show" he shot into the air on an ice hoverboard eyes glowing as his form changed into a dragonas Fenrir howled deeply supernatrual wolves came from the forest ready for a fight, hel commanded skeletons. hopefully this was enough to keep the mad titan at bay. The war started and it was bloody and hard. hel grunted as she kicked a male in the face taking it right off she saw thanos and eyes glowed in rage as she lashed out sharply . loki was keeping the aventers less heavy on attacks using sheilds and spells but thats when he hears the sharp cry of hel. His head shot over seeing her grabbed by thebtoat by thanos. his eyes went small as he gave a powerful snarl his form shifting into a panther once more rushing right at the titan and bit deeply into the arm cracking the gems as the gems started to glow sharply before slowly each of them started to shatter one by one. hel was dropped getting caught by Thor and yelled "NO NO DADDY!!" she yelled looking toward the building as the Panther and the titan fighting .

As the war came to a close

Hel could see a massive ball building, Fenrir and the aventesr had held off the attacks of the aliens pretty well still hurt and all but they where okay and alive. fenrir barked deeply as loki groaned getting up bleeding all over rasping and yelped as Thantos grabbed his throat.

"YOU YOU SHAKL NOT TAKE AWAY THIS FROM ME" screamed Thanos as he salmmed Loki through the building as the gems glowed sharply and brightly before a massive explosion shot from the gems and everything vanished the aliens, the war , The city was ruined by the invasion was now gone. Hel was screaming "DAD" as thor had tried to hold her back she got out and rushed for the building and saw loki on the ground and ran over sharply.

"NO no no no" she wailed sharply eyes burning with tears. fenrir limped over and whined and howled sadly , the god made no movements blood coming from his wounds but he did say last few words "......Listen......to Thor....he will take care of you......now and Varia" and with that the life from loki faded from his body. hel screamed with sadness and rage head on her fathers chest.

Barton panted and lowered his head in a respectful way knowing how hard it was to loose a loved one and closed his eyes. varia and jane where safe back in Stark tower wounded but alive and safe but even they could hear the scream of sadness from hel and the sadn howl of Fenrir.

Back In ASGARD

Hambell looked as everything vanished from the battle feild and knew "Loki......Broke the gems and they backfired on him. Earth is safe, everyone......oh loki you are rash but you got it in you to be good. He is gone Lord Odin" he said as the warriors looked at him a bit surpised but they yelled happily for the defeat of Thanos but then they could hear the howl and scream of fenrir and Hel the cheerfing stopped and Sif lowered her head, as the warriors lowered their their heads as well in sadness.

Nebula had gotten to Stark Tower with ease. She whacked her way past everything and everyone. Until she was faced with Selvig, Jane, Pepper and the device. Varia steps out in front of them, protectively. Nebula cackles. "Foolish human, just give it up. Dont throw your life away for a stupid machine."

"I'm not. I'm doing it for my friends.." Varia narrows her eyes at Nebula, who ran at her. Varia shoots all of her bullets and they were deflected by Nebula's cyborg metal armour. She ran out of bullets and threw her gun at the blue alien and it smacks her in the face. It made some impact, but only angered Nebula more. She goes in to grab Varia, she puts her arm up and although Nebula's impact hurt like hell, she still blocked it. She matched another blow but this time her other arm broke on impact. Varia cries out in pain but continues to hand to hand combat with someone who outmatched her.

She bought enough time for the device to be activated at the right time. Jane cries out and tries to stop Nebula beating the shit out of Varia, in vain as Nebula threw her across the room. Pepper tried in vain and she too was knocked unconscious.

With one last fatal blow, Nebula bends Varia backwards into her metal knee. Varia's back was broken instantly. Never before and she cried out in such agony. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

And then the entire invasion vanished...Nebula looked around, she had no choice to flee before Thor came back to break her into pieces.

A broken Varia couldn't move. It was over. She heard Hel's screams and it pierced through her soul. But she could not hold on, she was slowly slipping away. All she could feel was numbness. Her spine was shattered. Jane runs over to her and cried as she cradled her dying friend in her arms. Black Widow came running in panting, she shakes her head. "No..."

"Hawkeye....come in...is Thor with you?"

"Yeah he is...." Hawkeye said solemnly as Thor cried out in pain over the loss of his brother, again. He held Hel tightly in his big arms.

"Jane is safe, tell him. And tell Tony that Pepper is okay too..." Barton nodded. "What about Varia?"

"....She's not responding." He heard Jane screaming over the radio. Thor looks up. Now Jane was in pain.

Selvig got to working CPR on Varia's chest. Odin looked down sadly at Heimdall.

A glowing ball shined around vaira as Loki tthough dead transfered his healing to the mortal healing her wounds she could hear a soft voice speak.

you must stay alive watch over my children. For an old trickster sake do this

Hel just cried angry with herself and Loki . Fenrir kept howlinf

Varia felt something warm, a bright light shone onto her. She felt herself flowing back into reality. Everything was blurry as her body repaired itself. Jane stops crying and gasps. "Varia!" She hugged her and helped her to her feet. Varia was able to move again. It was a miracle.

She had heard Loki's voice in her mind. And so she knew it was he who saved her life. She smiles sadly as everyone fussed over her. Black Widow gave her a well deserved pat.

"How?" Jane asked.

Varia simply said. "Loki."

Chapter 3 The blessing of snow

It had been about five months after the invasion the world seemed to be back in order for except that there was one snow. Fenrir and Hel had actually stayed on earth and ended up helping the avengers. But life wasn't the same without Loki.

But one day the avengers where at a small party at the beach Fenrir started barking as snow started to fall. The snow kept falling as fenir barked and whined. Hel was depressed and nothing cheered her up . Feniri barked and yipped before running down the beach as a form appeared on the beech staggering.

It was....Loki. The trickster smiled as he was tackled by Fenrir and laughed hugging him before getting up walking twoard the group.

Natasha looked up from making a sandcastle with Clint's children. She squints her eyes as the figure approached. Thor noticed and turned around and saw a familiar face approaching. He couldn't believe it. Was it really...?

Tony and Steve also looked over and they smiled.

And all of them began to rush with Thor at the head of the group. Everyone was there. Jane, Selvig, Darcy, Pepper, even the newer Avengers Falcon, Scarlet Witch and the android Vision.

There was only one person missing.

"Wahhhhh" Loki yelled as he was tackle hugged by Thor rasping gently. "Ow ow ow" he said feeling his bones cracking. He sighed and hugged them back.
