Ahhh, see...

Isa's world is broken. He rarely feels emotions anymore, he's usually what most would call clinically depressed. He cares about one thing, finding his sisters, everything else is just something in his way. He's far more focused than your average teen, and won't fit in well if asked to blend well with people his age. The shifting is a tool he needs, so he practices with it often. And you'll see that as we continue this RP. The biggest IC reason he's attacking Vlad, is that he believes that Vlad is an active hindrance to finding his sisters, based on his irrational treatment of Roxy. Right now his trigger is a memory of his two sisters, playing on a white tiger pattern rug by the open hearth back in Russia.

Will shifting time decrease with practice?

You can use whatever trigger you want. Everyone will have their own. I only used anger but because right now that is Roxy's trigger. If he is clinically depressed he would have a harder time shifting because he doesn't have the motivation to shift. Even if he thinks of his sisters every time it will take time for the memory to motivate him. Yes shifting time will depress with time and practice. It would go something like an hour, forty five minutes, half hour, fifteen minutes, five minutes. How long this will take will vary from person to person but it would take even the most motivated, focused person atleast a week or more to reduce the time.

We need to wait for Hailey.

The problem I am seeing is that it could become confusing. Take your attack post Clever girls to distract the guards, while I'm standing here so wonderfully close to Vlad. I had turned to watch Dallas and Roxy approach the tables of knives, and in so doing stepped a little closer the vile man, apparently unaware of his proximity. A quick step back as Roxy threw her blades, put me behind and to one side of Vlad, he saw me stepping back I think, he tried to turn and face me. I had shifted my upper torso and head already, and bit at his neck, grabbing at his shoulders with my paws. If the weasel didn't dive to the floor, I'd have his neck in my jaws, and then it'd be a matter of time before his neck was broken, I probably wouldn't even have to try, the tazers would do the trick for me. If he did dive to the floor, I'd bring my paws down on his unprotected ribs, since human instinct would protect his head and neck, trying to crush his ribs and the organs beneath them. By now the guards would likely be attacking me, I just hoped the other three would make it out okay.

Here is what I would have liked to post:
Clever girls to distract the guards, while I'm standing here so wonderfully close to Vlad. I had turned to watch Dallas and Roxy approach the tables of knives, and in so doing stepped a little closer the vile man, apparently unaware of his proximity.VLAD WAS AWARE OF ISA AND SO WERE SOME OF THE GUARDS THEY WATCHED HIM WARILY.(Vlad is very aware of his personal space. Most people are) A quick step back Guards that noticed the move took aim so that they could be ready to take the teen out if they needed to.as Roxy threw her blades, put me behind and to one side of Vlad, he saw me stepping back I think, he tried to turn and face me(Controlling but I over look it). I had shifted my upper torso and head already Guards take aim. They had been told to shoot if the teens transfer without permission., and bit at his neck,Guards shot tranqs at Isa. They know that they might hit Vlad but that was a risk they were willing to take. They couldn't allow the scientist to day on their watch. grabbing at his shoulders with my pawsSoldier taz Isa just to get the transforming boy away from the scientist. (my last post with Vlad drapping) If the weasel didn't dive to the floor, I'd have his neck in my jaws, and then it'd be a matter of time before his neck was broken, I probably wouldn't even have to try, the tazers would do the trick for me. If he did dive to the floor, I'd bring my paws down on his unprotected ribs, since human instinct would protect his head and neck, trying to crush his ribs and the organs beneath them. By now the guards would likely be attacking me, I just hoped the other three would make it out okay. Isa is hit with several tranqs and atleast two tazers.

That's the art of post cutting: posting something that happens during someone else's post. As long as you give reference to when exactly each action is happening, like I did when referencing Roxy's attack, it's all good rping. (at least it is for me, because that's how I was taught play by post rping)

I said what "most would call clinical depression" slight difference, there. He's not actually clinically depressed, though he does exhibit several symptoms.

I don't see how I could have posted any of that. You practically had them on the ground by the end of your post. Having the guards move at that point would have only made them look stupid.

Either he is are he isn't. Those symptoms would cause him problems depending on what they are.

He isn't and I know, I've already said he's broken. In this environment it's hard to show how broken he is.

Being broken should slow his progress. I don't know what you have in mind. But the more problems the hard it would be for him to focus on shifting.

Not necessarily, what's left of him has less to distract him.

Or rather, is less capable of processing the distractions in time to distract him...

@Tracyarmav hmm... Maybe. Guess I woukd need the symptoms. I studied psychology I don't see how any of the symptoms could help him.

Think of it this way, certain receptors are effectively "permanently" blocked. That's a soft permanent, they will become unblocked, but it will take more time than it should.

And I am not a psychology student, so I'm probably doing this wrong... again/still whatever..

@Tracyarmav you should use omething you don't have a good understanding of. If receptors are blocked you need to know why, how they can be unblocked. Let's say for example his feeling receptors are blocked except when he thinks of his sisters. That means he wouldnt care how Vad treated the others because it doesn't involve his sisters.

You need to decided if you want to control the guards or have me do it. Because so far everyone has mentioned the guards actions or lack there of. I haven't taken control of the guards simply because most post included a mention of their actions or inactions. I am fine with that as long as you take into account their training. But we have had too many post that make the guards look like statues rather then efficient soldiers. Last four post should have been something like.
1. Roxy throws the knives. Guards look to Vlad to see whether this is acceptable. He would allow it because of they are in weapons training.
2. Blue attacks. Guards would look to Vlad. (still waiting for Hailey to edit or clarify her post) Guards would be alert.
3. Isa makes a grab for Vlad. Vlad gets scratched while dropping to the ground. Guards tranq Isa.
4. Lucifer makes grab for Isa (whatever you want Isa's reaction to be) Guards warning him to step back.

Now I can add the guards actions our you can. Which do you prefer?

I'm going to clarify in the next post, if that's fine.

Not directly, but indirectly it affects how long he's going to be stuck here, NOT looking for them. Sooo he would care, and the kind of possessiveness Vlad's been exhibiting would demonstrate that he never intends to let them off the leash, which means Isa'd never get to see his sisters... Does that make sense?

Isa have had two encounters with Vlad. Isa has no idea what he intends. Vlad's reaction depends on their actions. After they attacked in the lunch room so he isn't going to trust them out of the facility.

If Isa were considering things rationally; you would have a valid point, but he is not.

Maybe so. Just pointing out that he isn't likely to get a different result if the others keep attacking.

Duly noted, it should sink in eventually... though he may request a new Vlad shaped mattress for his living quarters... apparently squishy scientists make excellent pillows.

*assumes Vlad is the squishy kind of scientist, and not the bony kind...*
