Knight looked down at his NAV-COM, however the interference from the planetary shielding wasn't providing any satellite data for their position. He glanced over his squad, knowing that they were completely in the dark.

"We'll head to the research facility first. That's where our last point of contact was and where we know has the highest possibility of having some information on the issue at hand." He explained.

Gesturing his fingers to the North-East and began the seven mile hike to the facility. Along the way there was no signs of human or alien activity at all, even for a remote location.



Eventually they arrived at the shore line in which a single bridge connected the ONI Research facility to the main land. Here at least there were signs of activity, some blood here and there, but no weapons or bodies were found. Knight raised his weapon, signalling the others to be on guard as they entered the main courtyard.

Admittedly it had seemed from the start that jones had been one of a kind heart, of course Joshua cared for others beyond the mission, Joshua wanted the shield gone, but instead he wanted it gone in order to regain his sensory apparatus. Joshua moved on with the squad after the quick briefing by knight. The walk wasn’t too long but it seemed that the rain wasn’t going to let up. It felt strange. Somewhere sent a distress call but upon investigation there were no signs of distress. That was until they reached the research facility. There were signs of blood yet no signs of bodies. He raised is rifle and moved around towards the bridge. Once in the main courtyard Joshua needed to ask knight, “’Sir, what kind of things do they research here, I’d rather not walk into a room full of volatile micro-organisms.” he moved to examine some of the blood on the ground, it wasn’t fresh and it seemed human, the consistency suggested 2 or 3 days but there was no way to be sure. There were no signs of dragging or struggle.

Angel was silent for the whole seven mile hike to the research centre. It wasn't uncommon for her to be quiet, however considering the circumstances it may have been a tad unnerving for the rest of the squad. The weight of the rifle on her back was enough to make the walk feel even longer than it was, but not nearly enough to tire her out significantly. She gripped the pistol firmly, scanning their surroundings for any movement, keeping an eye on the motion detector in the upper right hand corner of her HUD.

As they crested the hill that would put the ONI facility into view, Iris chimed up with a rather grim message for the current situation, sound a bit too happy to see the building in such a state "Welcome to ONI Research Facility: Horizon Lieutenant."

Angel scanned the facility for movement or other signs of life from 200m back down the scope of her rifle, waving the all clear to the rest of the squad "No movement, we're clear to move in." She quickly jogged to catch up with the rest of the squad and brought out her pistol once again, it being her main CQC weapon of choice. "Orders sir?"
