[OOC] Star Wars: Opposing Forces

Yeah, we're accepting, though if you join it'll be a bit before your character can make an appearance because of where we are in the story. I'm trying to move us forward but I'm waiting on a PM response from a player.

And I think we'd prefer a light side character, but I don't fully know who is still here.

Okay everyone, I wanna get some player opinions.

I'm thinking about rebooting rather than attempt to continue. I could work to get us back on track, but I just feel like from the second week or so all I've ever done is react to players leaving/joining late, and all of my attempts have affected the trajectory of the story.

I'm also considering opening up the world some, making it less Force user centric. And it's a good time to start a Star Wars RP, too.

What do people think of this idea? And what do people think of for a new story?

I am fine either way. If a reboot sets things more in order then a reboot it is.

I'm down with a reboot, especially if we go less force centric (being like the ONLY non force user :P ) but I can adapt to just about anything

I would also recommend avoiding Collabs, except for maybe the actual combat, and that should prolly be organized a little more (schedule wise)

Yeah, the collabs have helped with some things, but they've also quickly become clusterfucks. And it's harder for people to keep track of when they get updated. I think traditional posting works best.

Well.... tbh I don't know why we need a reboot..... but im fine with it if its what everyone wants...

If you find that we need to redo things in order to be inspired, then that's fine with me. Buuuuuuuuuuuut... I must admit to not be terribly interested in the mundane parts of the Star Wars Universe. So, would you like to elaborate on "less Force user centric"? Haha.

My current idea is to use the same world, but the story won't focus specifically on the Jedi/Sith conflict, though it will likely still play out in a modified form. I'm definitely leaning toward an expansion of players, and an open world where players can create their own conflicts and even run their own mini "campaigns" through their characters.

If I go open world, I'll allow multiple characters, so that you don't have to figure out how to get your galactic Senator involved in the mystical battle on Dantooine. You just play whichever character is most fitting for the story you're taking part in.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not into the "mundane" parts, but I know there's a lot of people with the opposite opinion too.

Does it really require a reset? Tbh I was rather enjoying this.... Could it be made into an entirely different roleplay?

Given the lukewarm response, I think it best to continue as we are. Perhaps I'll make a new RP later. Or, if anyone else wants to hop on board a second Star Wars game, we might start one sooner. But for now, I'll continue us here.
