I recommend we add more classes, for more variety. For example.

Warrior
Black Mage
Red Mage
Thief (One I'd use)
Beast Master
Lancer
Archer
Binder
Spirit Mage
Spirit Monk
Ninja
Geomancer
Dark Knight
Shaman
Magic Archer
Gunner
Weapon Master
Priest
Talisman User
Battle Mage
Warlock

There are just a few suggestions. Another good thing that I would like, is custom races, it would add more character creation and customization. Therefore, it would be more interesting.

Some races you could add are:

Dwarf
Elf
Roegadyn
Lalafell
Orc
Dark Elf
Laguz
Beast men
Animorph

They are just suggestions. I don't expect you to add them in JUST because I asked or suggested them but it would be nice to see. I think it would make the Rp a lot more fun and interesting.

The entire point of doing an LH RP is to use the pre made world of LH and use it with minor adjustments to fit the RP.

What you're asking is more like another fantasy RP which uses LH as an inspiration. I personally feel that the classes would either break or not fit the game (like Gunner as LH doesn't have guns as a big one) and they aren't anything interesting too, all of them feel bland or generic or done already. Most of the classes you propose are already in LH as different styles a canon class can take. Most of these classes are more archtypical presets from other fantasy media and do nothing to advance or increase the depth of the RP/story. They look and sound pretty and all, but bells and whistles will only ever be bells and whistles instead of something useful.

Same story with the extra races, they seem frivolous to me and do nothing in reality to make it any much better than what canon races could do. The large majority of them are just additional bread and butter races of fantasy and Elves and Dwarves already exist.

If we're going to be doing a Log Horizon RP, then I think we stick to Log Horizon and not try to make another generic fantasy RP.

First off, REC/Quarantine. I giggled enough at the sort-of-zombie-kissing scene. It has more "tongue" than I remember.

Next, a lot of these classes are already in the game. Warriors are the split of Guardian, Paladin, and Swashbuckler. Each of them have a warrior-like build (hence the "Build" section in the CS). Black/red mages fall under Sorcerer (they can use a bunch of magic). Beast Master is the Animal Tamer subclass, Thief would fall under an Assassin build, Lancer is a type of weapon and would probably be a build of a Guardian, Binder (I have no real idea, like a magic bind or rope traps?), Ninja fall under Assassin, Geomancer would be some sort of a specialized Sorcerer build, Dark Knight (I don't know what incarnation. FF? Probably FF. Would be a Guardian build supplemented by a Phantasm item, most likely), Shaman (No clue what version. A totem shaman would be probably a druid with a new subclass). Magic Archer would be a subclass for an assassin. No guns, at least, not this early. Weapon master would probably be the Bard, who can use most almost every type of specialized weapon. Priests are Exorcists/Clerics. Talismen would be a subclass. Battle mage, again, sorcerer with a subclass. Warlock would be summoner.

Then the races.

Dwarves and Elfs are already in Log Horizon. All of the Final Fantasy races are a bit too much. Laguz are similar to Wolf Fang, in that they have animal traits and transform into super animals (although Wolf Fang only grow a tail and their features turn gold. You could probably color yourself as a Dark Elf with the "in-game character creator". Orcs would never gain enough intelligence to be chummy with the adventurers. Beastmen are in the form of Fox Tails, Werecats and Wolf Fangs. Please no Animorphs. I still have nightmares of the covers today.

Anyways, there's a lot of stuff that will be explained in the OOC, but for now, just ask me if you need anything.

@SilverDawnMind if I re-ask my question from the previous page about how the weapon/equipment format stuff works?

We haven't quite figured it out. Of course, there won't be exact stats, like "+X Attack". I think it'd be much more like the descriptions on the item.

The weapons and equipment would probably be like:

< *Name of item* >
"Flavor text, if a rare item."
Type of item, IE, Ancient-class Rapier. Effect that the item has, IE, ignores armour. Stat bonus, IE, increases DEF and STR.

It would be laid out like an extremely short paragraph, not necessarily in that order.

Example:

<White Staff of the Wings of Ruin>
This is a very strong Phantasmal-class staff from Raids, but it is very hard to get, since it is one of the few remaining ones. It is a long cane that expands the effective range of support magic cast by the owner. Although it looks like a staff made of an ordinary old tree, when it is activated, a wing-like force field forms from the tip.

Ahh so basically the format used in the light novel/wikia for characters, got it. Will it only be limited to three items tho?

The Light Novel only limited it to three items for it to be simple. Most characters had a bunch more items than the three. Shiroe had his mount and the Equipment doesn't list it anywhere.

It's not limited to 3, but I'm limiting it to 3 "Powerful" items max per character. Like, at max, 1 Phantasmal and 2 Ancients. Unless you can really tell me a good story on how you got the second Phantasmal.
Edit:

As for spells and skills, it follows this format:

< *Name of Ability* >
Cooldown: (Short/Medium/Long/Once per fight/Once per day/Any words, not a set amount of time)
[Description of ability, what it does, what it looks like, etc.]

People of the Land can't earn it, per se. The only way they can get it is by a scribe making a contract that transcends the rules of the world (sort of) and forces them to become an adventurer.

I don't quite get what you're asking. What do you mean in "figure out our limits"? Seeing how far your subclass goes? It would depend the the subclass.

I'm starting to think of a character and I'm wondering if an Youxia with Alchemist as a background would be acceptable since I'm debating on the addition of NOT!Black powder that Yang had in his pervious version. Maybe it could be something of an overskill or a secret recipe?

What I mean is that I doubt everyone will be a level 1 right off the bat or end up being level 90 when we start. What I'm trying to figure out is how far or abilities start out as and what we will be able to do. For example a cook with a high level can make food taste like heaven but if a low level cook tries we get purple mush.
Then we have a blacksmith in the latter known episodes is shown that they invent steam power so what level would we need to be in order to do that.

@SilverDawn @ClocktowerEchos Ok then, I haven't seen all of Log Horizon, and haven't seen it for some time as I got busy, and never had time to finish it, so I didn't know some of the classes were already in there Xd.

As for Animorphs, it's not what you think. It isn't the creepy stuff that I seriously hate.

Animorphs can temporarily take the abilities of various creatures after touching them just once. They are still human like. For example. A human touches a dog, he could gain the enhances senses of a dog such as hearing and smell.

But yeah, I should probably finish watching LH at some point. It is a great anime.

It's more depending on what you can do. A Level 1's cooking won't taste very good and they can only make simple things with a high failure rate, like salad. Later on in the tree, you would learn new recipes that would "taste" better with a lower failure rate.

Generally, you need to discover stuff with higher levels and the lower levels can replicate it.

Yea... I have no idea what a face claim is, besides from the Urban Dictionary definition (which doesn't help me).

Yes I'm saying we will need to figure out a system for that.
Level 1 salad success rate 40%
Level 5 french fries success rate 50% salad success rate increased to 45%
Or something along these lines for the subclasses

Faceclaim = using the image of an existing character as your original character's.

Ah. Thanks.

@zellected I personally wouldn't like if you used an already established character in the main series as an appearance, but if you have your heart dead-set on it, then I won't stop you.

I don't think we need a really complicated system with real RNG for this. I think that it would just be "How good you are at" and let the players decide how much and when they fail at their subclass job.

@Jangel13 @SilverDawn Just my 2 cents, but putting percentages and other RNG elements has a tendency to needlessly over complicate an RP. Plus if dice-rolls get involved... well I've seen an RP go toxic with mistrust.

So I think if we trust everyone to be reasonable it should be fine :)

Hey dice is the quickest way to kill an rp I'm just saying that knowing what we are capable of in terms of subclass was a must
