I was waiting to hear back opinions from more people but I guess everyone who's invested has already spoken.

I have made changes to the mechanics of customization, so you'll want to give that a look over. No more tracking funds this time around. I think you'll find that this method is a lot simpler, and hopefully puts your minds at ease.
