Maryvale hasn't a moment's hesitation as she quickly reaches forward, grabs the sword, and yanks it, hoping to pull it from his grasp. She knew what to expect: a sudden influx of incredible power, possible voices of the insane, visuals of death and despair, alongside the chaos and demonic power that came with wielding Darkstalker. It was described in ancient texts and from the insane ramblings of those who had gotten too close to the sword -- close enough to touch -- that this blade was truly evil.

Which, in turn, would make her the same.

But her hidden trump card was only just entering play now. For Maryvale now wielded two of the darkest blades in history - one of absolute chaos and death, the other...

Order.

Dark Vibrance's hidden power was that it could control dark energy to an almost perfect extent. This was why she'd become such a skilled Dark Knight in the first place - she owed it all to this sword. The Grand Marshal had handed it down to her and trained her in it's use ever since she was young, and now she would be put to the test, to see if it was all worth it; to see if Maryvale had what it took to wield Dark Stalker.

'Lord Marshal... I will not fail you...'

Even so, the power was overwhelming, there were temptations all around her right now, but a soft, motherly voice rang loudest.

"My dear, you have done well, you have released me from that vile undead being, he was truly boring, keeping me sealed and all that but you are different!" The voice said, sounding excited. "You, despite not knowing it, desire power, but not to conquer, but for love, you wish to be powerful enough so that the person you love finally notices you, so that he finally desires you!" She said. "And I can give you even more power, power that the both of you can share, power so that both of you can rule the world together!" She said.

"So what do you say, do you want the power to make the person you want and the world, yours?"

Iosef nods, and makes his way towards said room. When he does enter, he plunges Earthrent into the floorboards, to see if they too would obey the sword's commands.

"... Whose to say that the person I love is male?" Maryvale asks with a faint smile. Good. Now she understood the limitations of Darkstalker and her influence on Maryvale. "You are correct in your other statements, mostly. I wish to serve as Lord Marshal's weapon. If you were referring to him as the one I love, then I regret to inform you that I see him more as a father than a lover." She pauses and turns around, facing the Death Knights. "But enough talk. How about we do some... calibration? To see how compatible we really are?"

From beneath her helmet, Maryvale grins sadistically. "If you don't want to get hit, then I suggest you get out of the way...!"

"How about I hold onto it?" Tiz suggests. "I'm sure I could hold back the urge to spawn demonic entities, at least for awhile. If you won't leave it in his hands, then leave it in mine."

"Ah, screw you all!" Riz yanks the blade from Kin'Kro, rushing for the door. "We've gotta find Shiel! C'mon, Connor, we ain't got time for dis shit!"

As the name entitles, earth-based materials were at his mercy, and thus so were the floorboards. The action itself had made quite a devastating mess, though of course with a blade like Earthrent one could quite easily patch it back up.

Iosef continued to contort the floorboards until they made a spherical cocoon around him. He then leaned back into one if the walls produced by said cocoon, and drifts off to sleep.

A sigh escapes Connor's mouth, before he runs out the door as well. "Come along now, guvs! We gotta go save Shiel!" He shouts, before muttering: "Wherever she is..." He pays no mind to the orc that was attempting to take the demon blade.
