Accepted! Welcome aboard. I'll add you to the character list. Also, if you wanna do your intro post, we're all just kind of hanging out outside the gates of Vulture's Roost at the moment.
Hey, I was considering joining this if possible. I had a couple of questions first, though.
Since there's no section for race in the character sheet and you haven't mentioned anything like it in the introduction, I assume it's just Humans? I want to be certain before I do anything, but that's the idea I'm operating on right now.
In addition, I was wondering what sort of wildlife to expect within the parameters of this world. Just normal stuff, or are there monstrous beings like trolls and dragons and whatnot?
I'd also like to know about religions. Any prominent ones? Could I make up my own to be incorporated into the world if I was so inclined?
As far as the race section, I'd like everyone to be at least humanoid. Exceptions certainly could be made, but nothing too outlandish.
For wildlife, in most of the civilized world, it would be mostly your typical animals, maybe with some odds and ends thrown in. The Northern Wastes being as undocumented as they are though, we'll likely run into some interesting creatures. There probably won't be any dragons, but anything short of that is definitely a possibility. For instance, we've just met a pair of giants, though they're living in a human settlement. (They're nine feet tall, though, and not of the beanstalk variety)
As far as religions go, you're pretty much free to come up with whatever you want. I don't see any reason not to.
Thanks for voicing your interest. I'll be happy to help with anything else if you'd like. One thing, though. The group is currently in Vulture's Roost and will probably set out relatively soon, so if you'd like for your character to set out with the group currently there, it would probably need to be soon. However, there's already been mention that other explorers are already in the Wastes, so you could go that route and have your character be one of the earlier adventurers that set out. Regardless, I'll gladly help set up an introduction for you.
Appearance: Haruka is rather short and has a very petit build. Good for martial arts, but not so good for not being mistaken for a boy. She has short dog ears that tend to stick straight up, and her skin is tan as she spends most of her time outdoors. Her hair is short and black while her tail is rather fluffy, and is of the type that turns up and curls slightly. Her eyes are dark brown. Being the scrappy little thing she is, she has a few cuts and scars here and there. She generally wears the yellow robes associated with her temple, along with a pendant shaped like the sun. This was given to her by her master, and is very precious to her.
Weapons/Belongings: Rope, throwing stars, sun pendant, naginata, meteor hammer, tonfas, rations, a waterskin, herbs, poultices, tinctures, salves.
Magic:(If any): Haruka’s body, having been through rigorous secret eastern training, is overflowing with ki that modifies her base properties. Poisons and diseases are driven away more quickly than they can take root, and her mind cannot be tampered with. In addition, she is always stronger and faster than most humanoids of her build could be. Her body is as iron, her fists are as steel, and her speed is like that of a cheetah. She can also channel her ki into other living things to stun them or into inanimate objects to shatter them. Her reserves are not unlimited, however, and she requires energy from the sun to restore her ki.
Personality: Haruka can be rather hot-headed and act rashly, but she always means the best. Haruka isn’t super bright except when it comes to combat, thus she tends to offer half-baked ideas on the spur of the moment. She’s generally very kind and tries to always stay optimistic, even when things seem grim.
Short History: Haruka was dropped off at an Eastern temple on a mountaintop when she was a baby in the dead of night, leaving the monks there to raise her. They did so happily, thinking of her as something like a good luck charm due to her strange doglike ears and tail. A spirit, they had thought, sent by the sun goddess to watch over them. Most of the monks were very calm and quiet folks, but Haruka was always very energetic and enthusiastic. Well, at least when it came to training her body. Book learning didn’t go quite so well, but the monks there always adored her all the same. One monk in particular got along with her very well, and they trained together often. While the monk was old, his skill in the martial arts was unmatched even by the other monks. His training could be harsh at times, but Haruka completed each task until there was nothing left to learn. Then, one night soon after the final lesson, her master was slain by a lone swordsman. She decided then and there that she would leave the temple that had been her home for so long to find the person who killed her master and avenge him. She finds herself currently quite far from home, in a strange new land very different from what she had known. She has since taken her mental studies more seriously and, while still not the sharpest knife in the drawer, has deeply immersed herself in medicine, thinking that she may have been able to save her master if she had known more.
I hope that this is alright. I do understand if she just doesn't fit well enough to play, though. In which case, I could make adjustments or scrap her for something more in line with everyone else.
Accepted, I'll add you to the character list! Currently, everyone is inside the castle at Vulture's Roost. I think the best way to introduce Haruka would be for her to show up at the gates, and I'll have one of the guards rush her to the castle with everyone else if that's cool with you.
Hey, I hope I'm not too late. This will be my first game if you accept me (just tell me if there's something horribly wrong with me, I'll have to learn eventually :P).
Without further ado,
Name: Jack Silver Age: 65 Gender: Male
Appearance: An old man with a grizzled beard stands before you. He stands up straight at about 5'10, but he is not intimidating. He is quite obviously past his prime, but there is still strength of mind behind his blue eyes. Jack isn't muscular, but he's in fair shape for an old man. His face is scarred, but the wrinkles mostly obscure the bad marks. Clothing: Jack wears a woolly trench coat and carries a bulging satchel and a cane. A couple buttons are missing from the coat, but it keeps warm enough. He's got black boots on, laced up to his mid-calves.
Weapons/Belongings: Jack carries a cane and a satchel. Inside the satchel are various personal affects, notably a multi-tool, a small saw, some first aid supplies, a blanket, a dark red hat, a pair of worn gloves, and a bottle of pills.
Magic (if any): While not magically gifted himself, Jack has been several places in the world and has encountered many who mages.
Personality: Jack will happily chat up a stranger about the weather, though if his companions are interested, he'll regale them with tales of his time spent in the military. Since he retired, he's been traveling throughout the civilized world, going and living wherever he met amicable people. Jack's a hard worker and it takes a lot to get him worked up, though his ex-wife is a touchy subject.
Short History: Jack grew up in the south in sleepy, unremarkable town. When he came of age, he kissed his mother goodbye and joined the military. After serving for almost a decade, he settled down in a town a few months travel north of his home. He married a young woman named Sylvia, and life was good. However, when she gave birth to a child that couldn't possibly be his, he rejoined the military to try to find new meaning. With another two decades of his life lazily thrown into a peace-time military, Jack accumulated enough money to travel. Upon reaching 40, Jack retired once again and slowly worked his way north, making friends and meeting people. Now, nearing the end of his time, he decided that it was time for one last adventure to a place Beyond the Boundary.
EDIT: I just finished reading the story so far, I could have worked under Lord Cross for a bit if it makes me easier to introduce to the group.
Accepted! Actually, showing up at the gate where Haruka is at the moment would probably be best. That way the guard can just take both of them to the castle. Welcome aboard!
You say he's going to die first, but Al would inform you that in fact getting your bones broken just makes them grow back stronger and thicker than ever. His skull is basically solid concrete at this point.

I believe it. His brain is probably made of rocks too.
Hey, sorry guys, but I'm probably going to drop out. For a little while, this was absolutely great. But in the past couple of days the quality has dropped and it's taking a turn from high fantasy adventure, to something a lot more comical. Don't get me wrong, comedy is fine, but that's not what I was looking for out of this.
