It's an impossible thing. Try all you want, nothing is going to be objective. That's just how things work even down at the fundamental levels of language.
One thing I absolutely hate is rap music, especially the slow kind. Its literally all just about drugs and fucking a hoe on some really dull, annoying beat if you can even call it that. Add bad autotuning and some stupid ass moans and groans and some how you have something that people enjoy and chant in the halls. In my ears, its so musically incompetent and idiotic that it makes Justin Bieber sound good.
I would go on, but I feel like its not even worth wasting energy and time on writing out a complete rant.

@ClocktowerEchos ... There's plenty of rap which doesn't revolve around what you think it does. You should really listen to some rap that's actually decent and I bet it'll blow your mind and you'll listen to pretty much just rap for a while.
I'll help you get started, Verb T - Morning Process.
I dislike when people claim ALL of any particular genre is bad, kind of just speaks for the small minded.
@SmileyJaws@VilageidiotxI know there's some good songs out there, but I guess that the bad rap has engrained itself into me that I dislike it in general. Sort of like how some people won't eat certain things they thought taste bad when they were a kid.
That said, I did actually find a bit of rap in one of the j-pop songs I tend to listen to (I know, I'm a fking weeb, its what I listen to most days); gotta say that's my favorite bit in the whole song
The reason why I listen to j-pop for both work and study is that it has an upbeat enough tone to keep me somewhat energized but also since its in a language I don't really understand, I can focus on whatever I'm doing and let le musica flow through me bruh (jesus christ I never thought I'd say that). Then there's also the fact I personally find j-pop to be catchiest so there's that
Also, listen to that song, not bad but I still don't really think its my jam :p

Don't get me wrong, I completely understand where you're coming from. It was just the generalization that got me! Got to say I like some J-Pop but was always more of a J-Rock fan, I have a deep seeded love for "The Gazette" myself.
What are your thoughts on J-Rap then?
@SmileyJaws On the whole I prefer K-Rap if we're going that route but there's some legit good J-Rap to be had. Not nearly as well known as the whole J-Pop and anime insert songs that are crazy big, though
Link me to some of the good J-Rap stuff, my ears need a listen!

I could never get into the J-Pop or K-pop stuff. It's too... bubbly for me, I guess? That's the best word I can think of.
But if I bitch about something, related to Rap music and in general.
Fuck my random migraines and burning my hands the very same day.
Is how rap artists create their albums, drive me nuts. Here's how it works as a broad generalization. Rock albums with have 10-12 songs on them. 2-3 of those said songs will be filler to bulk up the album, usually smart artists won't put them one after another. I swear some people but the worst songs first or last. And that itself is a rant for another day.
But rap albums, tend to have 14-20 songs on them. But ALL additional songs are filler. Now, the point for this is to throw everything at you at once, so something sticks. But it makes albums as a whole much weaker as a result, if it's not just stupid as hell sketches. (and god I hate those.) I listened recently to a rap album that had 14 songs on them, was liking how cohesive in theme it was, then bam! waited until the very end two of the worst songs. Right beside each other. Killing it. >.< Basically, rap albums need better editors, less IS more most of the time. :/

mainly because corruption and inability to be unbiased when it comes to reviewing games.
I think the language barrier is stopping me from appreciating most J-Rap which is odd, but I think rap is more focused on lyrics and flow. And I tend to appreciate rap for it's good lyrics or an impressive flow. Usually listening to Alt-Rap, and I've found no J-Alt Rap personally, though I haven't really looked. >.> I would literally start hopping for enjoy if you could find a J-Rap equivalent to this or this.
Speaking of weird. Thank you for this...
