Sometimes I really wish RPG had a "Block" function so I could stop seeing posts/messages from certain people. Like, sorry, but I'm tired of seeing certain people shitstirring in the status bar all the time and it'd be real nice if I had a way to turn the stupid comments off >_< You're trying to be cool and funny and you're really really not. T_T

I feel you. Well, nothing we can do about a bunch of narcissistic, attention-seeking douchebags who only know how to crack classless jokes and talk like edgy retards. XD

...It's the sad truth that childish morons are the ones running this fucked-up world.

Mostly all I ever see in the status bar is people alluding to some sort of personal crisis but not saying what the crisis actually is.

Shitposting and trash-talking don't feel cool or hip or whatever, at all. It's... tiring, irritating, and just not funny.
(Well, for a short while is fun, but as the time drags on... makes me wonder what's wrong with people nowadays.)

And the contradiction that being kind or nice to you is boring, but at the same time you want people to respect you?
Seriously, make up your mind already.

Less of a bitch and more of a "why is this not a thing", I guess? But RPG, why don't we have the ability to "laugh" at status posts in addition to the "like" option? Cause sometimes some of them are pretty good and I just want to use that instead and then am sad when it's not a thing! D: We have it for the regular comments/forum posts so why not statuses, bruh? XD

Honestly, a couple people like to act like they own the sidebar and have indicated that they are somehow entitled to call shots on content. Meanwhile, I thoroughly enjoy disregarding those directives.

PS. Good trolling has gone the way of the dodo. Repetitive shitposting is tedious and people are trying way too hard. Firing a hundred posts for two likes is way too little return on investment.

Right now for me it is a general lack of manners and respect. It is one thing to joke around but seriously, just putting a ":P" or an "LOL" at the end of something you say doesn't make it suddenly alright. It actually can make it far more insulting. It doesn't make it alright to be insulting or demeaning towards someone just because you are friends, in fact it can make it that much worse. And seriously, using the excuse "I'm young" or "I'm just a kid" doesn't give you a free card. If you know enough to say that to try to make it alright or acceptable you know better than to say or do it. If you want respect around here you need to give it.

In the last month I have lost so much of what respect I had for some people around here it is ludicrous and down right damn disheartening. I've pulled away from many these last couple of weeks alone because I am finding some just are not worth my time anymore and I do not wish to be exposed to them.

I won't name names but seriously if you are offended by this, taken aback, or wonder if it pertains to you - chances are you really need to reevaluate yourself and your habits. You aren't funny, you are driving away those that were standing by you.

While I do try to be easygoing and have fun with people as much as my boring self can, I'm getting really annoyed when people just try too hard to be bitchy and snark me with dumb answers when I'm asking a serious question or taking my kindness for guaranteed, and I'm not in the mood to joke around. You complain about me wasting your time for being boring af, but you're wasting my time for being an insufferable douchebag. I'm not here to entertain your swollen ego, I'm just here to enjoy rping with everyone.

Since when RPG becomes a rotting cauldron to brew narcissistic assholes trying to terrorize people and start this retarded trend?

I have a feeling it's always been like this, but I've only recently come to this realization.

Don't know if this has been discussed before but is anyone other than me legitimately offended by SJWs and their continued use of "people of color"? They're trying to be progressive, yet they're furthering us back to segregation, I feel like. I don't know. I'm black and I find this offensive.

Same here. It makes it seem like they've literally never talked to a black person before.

I know its gonna sound petty but when americans pronounce words differently to british people..... and are adamant that we are wrong. (not all americans.)

For example, I enjoyed a trip to the states a couple months ago. I wanted to check the english football scores and asked a local if he knew of any football bars and explained that i wanted to know premier league scores (Premier, pronounced Prem-yer). I kid you not the guy replied "Oh you mean the Premier league" (Premier, pronounced Prem-ear) Every british football fan just cringed as did i and the few mates i was with.

dictionary.cambridge.org/pronunciation..

The english vs american pronunciation. it makes me physically cringe when i hear it. sorry americans i can deal with the rest of it just not this.

You can't deal with that, but are okay with Aloominumb?

I wish that when I look at a post someone liked/laughed/thanked for me, it would be "read" like it would be if I was mentioned when I click on it. Just so when I come back and look at it later and notice an alert, it's something new and not the same thing I had already read but never got taken off my notifications.

Another issue I have relates to my extensive knife/axe collection and my family. Now, while I certainly advocate self-defense in whatever form one is comfortable with (Be it martial arts, carrying a knife, or even a gun), what bothers me is my own family's doubt to my own collection and protection. I've done martial arts for about seven years since I was 13, and I feel fairly confident in my abilities, more so when armed. Somehow this bothers my family under some misconception that I should somehow be completely unrelated on a weapon due to my training, to which I explain to them: Do you think you can take on someone without a weapon? They usually can't.

But what really bothers me is when I offer them tips and lessons to using my weapons, since teaching them martial arts will take longer than I'd care to spend, they fear they would only hurt or end up disarmed of their weapon. Hearing this from them makes me really worried, because not only are they unable to protect themselves, but apparently can't even use a weapon to save themselves, making them perfect victims for violence. When I point this out to them they just accept it.

Now I cannot say I am a violent person by nature. I'd much prefer to live in peace and carry out violence in harmless mediums, mostly video games. Should violence happen I wholly advocate running for your life, because escaping danger is the best way to survive it. But in such extremities where escape isn't possible or will result in the death of someone I care for, wouldn't it be smart to be prepared for that situation? It's not as if I am expecting them to carry a weapon with them everywhere (Though I would advocate it when practically possible). Or at the very least, not be so brazenly incomplete that they're more likely to give their weapon to their attacker then use it themselves. It just boggles the mind. More so since my family, my parents in particular, are old and work in a job that moves a lot of money in a publicly accessible area. I.e. a store. And with the increase in robberies and general distrust of police due to the various shootings, beatings, and abuse that is unfortunately common in my area (And not just because the news broadcasts it daily), it's become a persons own responsibility to ensure their own safety... If they're willing to burden that responsibility.

Ah, but now that leaves a second bitter taste in my mouth. A question that fuels my action and often the arguments I have with friends, family, and strangers: Would you rather be a victim or criminal? Now when I say criminal, I do not always mean you are participating in a violent crime such as murder or rape. I mean something as criminal as simply carrying a knife hidden on your person. This question originally taken from the proverb "Better to be a wolf then a lamb", with criminals being wolves and victims being lambs. It's become an unspoken but expected decision that everyone is suppose to be a lamb ripe for the slaughter, and rely on wolves to deal with other wolves. And yes, I refer to lawful enforcers like the police as wolves too, because it seems that at some point (Or at least in my area), the police are much more pre-emptive in violence then supposed criminals are.

I once had a cop pull a gun on me for running a stop sign. While he didn't aim it at me, he had one in hand.

It's times like these that it really makes me think about where I am in society. I like to think that I'm at a fairly good spot; I have a job, my family is wealthy, I'm not sick and I have time for my hobbies (Perhaps too much time). And I'm certainly not an evildoer, even if I do feel at times that I want to break the law for self-satisfaction, I have the self control to realize this is a bad idea and don't act on it. Yet despite that, seeing the officer pull a gun on me made me realize that it doesn't matter who I am. What really mattered wasn't that I was a law-abiding citizen or not even a major threat to anyone or to that officer in particular. It's not a thing of "Good vs Bad" but "Us vs Them". I always thought such generalities should be reserved for political news networks. But it's more a reality then I care to admit.

Instead of writing something longer and furious, I am agreeing with the suggestion that a block/ignore feature be implemented. It's evident, given recent events, that a certain type of person gets to have sway over this community and gets right of way in all disputes. Some of this sort told someone to kill themselves on the sidebar and in the chat.

If the mods can't protect users and no means are given for self-protection of users, we're going to bleed actual useful productive roleplayers to other communities and be left with the toxic dregs. No one wants that. Yes, that means some people need to do some work, sorry about that.

I don't even know why there's a status bar in the first place. I mean, if you want to check what someone is up to, you can just click on their profile and see their latest status. If you want to chat, there's the chat and/or Discord and if you want to shitpost, there's the spam forum. It's kinda like someone's Facebook wall, it sounds cool on paper, but in reality it's just an outlet for toxic opinions and not very humorous jokes. /shrug

Sorry, I know it's not a discussion thread, just sayin'.
