Megan gave a sigh of content. New cards added, some old cards taken out, and her deck was hopefully the better for it. Of course she wouldn't know until she tested it on someone but that would probably have to wait until after classes. Once she was sure her deck was up to snuff, and she knew a little more about those nasty performpals, she'd fight Nate again, and she'd win for sure! Just the thought of finally beating past all his monsters brought a grin to Megan's face. Her self indulging thoughts were interrupted by the polite beeping of her D-ciever. "Hm, synchro summoning?" Megan mused to herself looking at the message.

While she had never used the technique herself it would doubtless be handy to know in the future, either for her own use or to better prepare for what she was up against. Like any normal person she took the elevator to the proper floor and quickly made her way to the classroom, sitting down towards the front of the room so she could learn easier. Megan immediately got out her Duel Notes and a pen, prepared to record anything important. She wouldn't get any better if she let things like this fly by her head. Knowing how to synchro summon was practically the same thing as knowing how to stop it. It looked like some other people had gotten to class before her, but Megan was more interested in learning than chit-chat at the moment. Besides, she didn't know anyone here yet and introductions were almost always awkward.

As Brad entered the class room, he was a bag of mixed emotions. It felt good to finally be able to stretch his legs again, after spending so much time cooped up under his parents' stern supervision. To feel the blood pumping through his veins. To feel the joints begin to ache once more. To feel the cold sweat being wiped off his head by the back of his hand. It was like being reunited with an old friend.

And yet... Brad couldn't help but feel disappointed. He had not expected his body to do so poorly. Sure, he knew that he wouldn't be the veritable blur with feet that he once was but a simple stair exercise left him winded. He would have to buckle down and resume his training seriously.

While considering what would be a good schedule to fit in the required exercise, he heard his name. Looking over, he spotted Nathaniel. "Howdy." He looked far different from last night. A shower and a lack of grueling activity would do that to a person.

"This is Synchro Summonin' 101, right?" Brad asked, gesturing to the open door.

As Andre walked up the corridor he couldn't help but see his brother following behind him in the shadows of the halls. It was quite pitiful too proud to ask for help but too ashamed of his own lack of something that he wouldn't come up to his younger brother. Ben was as he always was...a pitiful excuse for a jock who couldn't get his mind around the notion of ASKING FOR HELP. He always did things on his own when they were in question. Regardless of his brother however Andre could at least take solace in the fact that he was in his element. Synchro summoning was his 'major' here after all and his deck incorporated not one, not two, but three synchro monsters. All of them had their perks and synchros were devastating especially beasts like Trishula of the Ice Barrier. It was a shame the ice barriers themselves...lacked a certain power to them. From what he heard people loved ice barriers but couldn't stomach actually playing the bastards. As long as he didn't need to ride a god damn motor bike or whatever the hell turbo and action duelists did then he was happy with it. Andre saw two boys in the hall way and brush right past them without so much as an excuse me and went directly into the room and found the desk farthest in front so that he could take in as much as he could. It was probably basic shit but even basics need to be touched upon once in awhile. At least it wouldn't be as pissy as fusion. The CARDS SAID WHAT TO DO FOR GOD SAKES. At least with Synchros you had different possibilities, different outcomes, different and various methods to get them out. At least he didn't piss away like a little bitch and use the same recycled garbage everyone else did. Just spam those junk synchrons until you get out twenty monsters and half your deck. Where was the pride in that? Were people too afraid that Beelze couldn't handle their own so they had to thrown in T.G Librarian and all those other cards? Losers....

Vincent Gulfus

Vincent decided that at the end of the day standing around would just get him nowhere. Nobody of great interesting walked in, not even that Tsukiko girl whom seemed a little petty interested him. The brown haired guy just let out a sigh as he decided to find a seat to sit on before the lesson truly began and he learned a summoning technique he already knew or well thought he knew, He played this game in his youth after all. 'Kill the tuner Kill the Synchro, or somehow block the summoning with a bottomless trap hole or something' Vincent thought remembering back to his match against Leander. Never the less that was in the past and Vincent hoped he come somehow get a match today as well, Someone had to sate his hunger for battle.

Vincent sat down on one of the bench's looking to his left he noticed a girl with a red tie and what seemed a presence of mischief. He had been silent all morning without talking to anyone, So Vincent just decided to talk out of boredom if not anything else. "Hey their Miss, I guess your in my class" Vincent said with a grin on his face as he made his introduction. His eyes betraying nothing about his blood-lust but instead just mellow with happiness to finally talk to some human being. "So how was your first few days, if you didn't mind me asking because well mine were great." Vincent said with a wide toothed grin as he wondered what the red tied individual would respond with.

Venwyn Ael

I Forgot to Put a Witty Title.

Needless to say, Ethel had not been pleased with Venwyn's minimal explanation for his handstand, and had quickly stormed off as a result. It was somewhat unfortunate - she didn't quite know that he was a ninja, which didn't really help things. Well, it mattered not for now, someone'd tell her eventually.

Venwyn was prepared to continue his training in silence once more, but someone else had interrupted it. It was another girl - the one that yelled a lot during the Action Duel class. Venwyn still hadn't caught her name quite yet, and it seemed like she didn't know his either.

"Eh! Ninja boy! That's impressive and all but I bet you can't hold your own in a real physical challenge."

"...Real physical challenge?" Venwyn asked, curious by what she meant. He ceased doing his one-hand handstand, and sat on the table, arms folded and legs crossed.

"Elaborate."

It was around this time that Venwyn's Duel Transceiver lit up. This time he had to go to a class on Synchro Summoning on floor 43. There wasn't enough time to talk with the girl, so Venwyn decided it would be better to leave.

"...Nevermind. Tell me later" He said, nodding towards Cassie.

With that, he did a few hand seals and disappeared in a puff of smoke as he normally did, appearing in one of the seats without warning. It'd probably startle a student or two this time - especially if they were anywhere near that seat at the time.

Unfortunately Vincent's repulsive nature was ineffective on Tsukiko where she just flat-out ignored him. He was just another boy anyway so ignoring him wouldn't make much difference even though something about him really caused her skin to crawl though she hid it under her exterior as she turned her attention away from noticing he went over to speak to a girl dressed like a paperboy. She was interested in this girl who looked like they were some sort of journalist, was it? The cap on her head said it all since she remembered that lots of famous journalists wore caps similar to the one she wore. She wanted to find out more about the girl, but that jerk Vincent beat her to the punch. She almost wanted to knock the wall over into itself which stood right in front of her, but she didn't want to explain how the wall collapsed to the teacher if she did.

Tsukiko's eyes lit up at the sight of a flying winged creature that was orange and black. It fluttered about in the air with its beautiful wings as she noticed it passed by her. If there was one thing other than famous artwork she loved were butterflies and monarchs were pretty gorgeous too. She laughed under her cold look on her face as she chased it around while it flew straight as an arrow by Vincent who was talking to the Maisy girl. She was about to follow it some more when Vincent's body blocked her way which made her angry. Her face which was smiled bright was immediately lifted away into another gloomy scowl which stared Vincent down. "Hey you, brute? You're in my way!" She complained as she wanted Vincent to move out of her way, but she lost track of the butterfly which did not make her very happy. She was having fun for a moment and then Vincent had to go and ruin it all. "Do you always have to ruin everything that is beautiful, jerk? How vile of you. Yeah, thanks a lot!"

Just when Tsukiko was actually enjoying herself, Vincent like her father had to ruin all her fun. She was actually happy when that butterfly was still visible since they were her favorite insect. She loved all kinds of butterflies though monarchs were her personal favorite. The nerve of Mr. Jerk who got in her way when she was chasing it made her blood boil and her eyes gaze at him with an icy glare. "Can you just get out of my way or are you too stupid to see you're in the way?" Tsukiko frowned at him as she wanted Vincent to move aside so she could go take a seat in the back. Hopefully she could sit in the entire class and avoid anymore contact with him. His very presence made the flames inside her body rage since they brought back memories which were not pleasant for the girl.

Nathaniel turned to look at the door. The room number seemed to match the room number given by the Transceiver, so Nathaniel answered accordingly.

"Yeah, I think so."

Walking towards the door, he gripped the handle firmly and gave it a good pull. Looking inside, he saw that the room was painted a bright green, and the Synchro Rings dangling from the ceiling like chandeliers looked just like the ones he had seen on television. If this was not a classroom dedicated to the art of Synchro Summoning, then there would not be another room in the world that qualified. If not the lecture, then Nathaniel could at least find the very room itself to be interesting. In any case, if he wasn't before, he was definitely in the mood to see some Synchros now.

"After you." He said to Brad, holding the door open and gesturing for him to enter.

Maisy was just minding her own business, mainly thinking about what kind of pictures she could take with her camera once she got it, before there was a pretty nice-sounding guy sitting beside her, and even talking to her. Social link go! Smiling, she adjusted her cap and says: "Hello there Mr. Winner." before extending her hand for a handshake. "Saw your "Action" Duel yesterday. Good work, but I think it needed a teeensy bit more flair. You know? I mean, you were fantastic, and super cool, and your eyes got all crazy like you just skull****ed someone. Good days, other than that. I made a ninja friend and learned that ninjas are real. And its totally okay to ask them if they actually ARE ninjas." she said all in one breath, before she inhaled deeply. Yup. That was totally concise, easy to follow, and...oh god, did she swear? No, Skullfudged was school-appropriate as far as she knew.

Ears twitching as she heard a slew of insults being directed at Vincent, as she just learned his name from the rather mean lady. Humming softly, she smiled as the monarch butterfly landed on the bill of her hat. "Well hey there little guy~! What're you doing out in the desert? Tired from migrating?" she asked to it, offering a finger for it to move to, if it so wished. God, nature was cool sometimes. Even somewhere as desolate and inhospitable as the desert could hold a giant, Air-Conditioned tower full of duel-monsters cards. Maybe the butterfly was looking to join. Leaving that to the butterfly's privacy, Maisy looked back to the two and said: "Um...If its really bugging you that much, I could move." with a genuine offer. She didn't want to hear people fight over something as stupid as a seat, after all.

"Thank you very much!" Leander said happily upon hearing his request being approved. Michelle, however, felt a bit guilty. She was the one who had convinced Leander to change courses, and he was the one taking the reprimand. "Um-" Michelle had been about to say before the headmaster spoke. Soon they were ushered out to go to their next class.

As Leander and Michelle made their way to the Synchro class, Michelle said, "Hey, um uh... I'm... sorry about the principal."

Leander turned to looked at her, confused. "What are you talking about? We did what we went there to do," Leander replied.

Michelle looked down at the ground, unable to face Leander. "Yeah, but... it's my fault you were given that disapproving look from him, and his words too."

"Oh, that? Don't sweat it. It's perfectly alright," Leander dismissed Michelle's concerns.

"But-" Michelle tried to say before Leander cut her off. "It's fiiiine," Leander said. "Besides, I had an answer ready for that old guy, and I would've said it too if we didn't have to go to class already."

"Really?" Michelle asked, curious. "W-what was it?"

"Well, it was that my heart was telling me to leave Action Dueling to let my friends in my deck stay strong," Leander answered, patting his Duel Disk. "It's one thing to face a Duelist who's a bad match for my deck, but it's another to knowingly go into a place where my Parshath friends will only suffer all the time. I can't do that to them." Giving Michelle a grin, Leander continued, "So really, I have to thank you for telling me to change to Standard."

Upon hearing that, Michelle allowed a small smile to appear on her face. "You're welcome," Michelle said.

"Oh yeah, where's the classroom?" Leander asked Michelle, returning to reality.

"What? I-I was following you," Michelle answered. "Hold on, let me check." Pulling out her D-Ceiver, Michelle brought up a map for the classrooms. Tracing a path on the screen with a finger, she realized what they had done. "We passed it by 6 rooms already!" Michelle exclaimed.

"Then let's go!" Leander said, laughing as he ran off and opened the door to the classroom. "We made it!" he said cheerfully, walking in and taking a seat. Michelle merely sighed, disappointed in herself, and followed Leander in, looking around for a seat. While she was doing so, she spotted Tsukiko, who appeared to be arguing with... Vincent? Going over to them, Michelle asked the two, "Is, um, everything alright?"

Vincent had began talking to the red tied girl, whoms name he didn't catch but he accepted her handshake anyway. It seemed she was having more misadventures then he was, though she probably had a good eye for odditys if she could see his eyes go like they normally do in the middle of a fight. heh well Vincent still didn't mind doing that even if it did sometimes scare people a little, after all he had grown to accept that as a part of who he was in his youth and really didn't care much about it. Never the less while Vincent was listening to every word coming out of his acquaintances mouth. Something flew past his ear, something small and light. It heralded a coming hailstorm which began going as soon as Vincent heard a icy voice from behind him. Of course he wasn't going to stay silent and take that, oh no.

"Brute? really Tsukiko, I don't see a duel anywhere in sight, so why would I be brutal?" Vincent countered to the brute comment but of course the ice princess was coming in with another insult. Did he really ruin everything that was beautiful? That would be a real shame because then people would all have terrible personality that couldn't even give a inkling of personal traits that makes a persons company... annoying at best. Still he waited for Tsukiko to let out all of their ice before he would even start to respond. Now she called him stupid and asked him to move. All for what a butterfly? seemed a little extreme.

Vincents face darkened for a moment in thought before it lightened up for a response. "Maisy you don't have to leave you know you was here first, But I an't going to leave here either, I mean honestly Tsukiko stop with the holier then thou attitude, Not that I am saying your worse then everyone but you can't just go around saying that to people." Vincent said 'Otherwise some people might get very violent "Still Tsukiko if you want you can sit here, you do seem a little lonely. If you still dislike me then why don't you care to explain why?" Vincent asked letting out a heavy sigh at the bother of the situation. "Just let me tell you that your in the company of a friend." Vincent said letting that hang out. See if Tsukiko caught the idea that Vincent didn't really care for her whining. He just wanted to sit down and talk to someone. If Tsukiko wanted to join the conversation that would be okay IF what they said was helpful at all to anyone. Such a annoying person.

Then Michelle walked over increasing awkwardness levels to over 900. "I do believe everythings fine Michelle" Vincent said with a slightly forced tone before smiling. "So how are you doing today?" He asked her (one of the only if not the only person on his d-Ciever Friend-list). Vincent continued to glance at Tsukiko with a honest look in his eyes that he would welcome her company, if they were of sound mind so was he.

Giving a curt nod in place of a vocal 'thank you', Brad moved past Nathaniel and into the classroom. As his brain tried to process the thousand different things going on, the loudest thought was considering if he was undereating and suffering from hallucinations.

There were bizarre green rings hanging from the ceiling. While not a licensed contractor or anything of the sort, he couldn't shake the feeling that that had to be breaking some protocol or another.

There seemed to be an altercation brewing between a particularly loud group of students of varying dorms. Judging by the laid-back attitude of the one sitting down, Brad got the feeling that that particular boy was probably the root cause. Not that he had any intention of getting involved in that mess.

Last but certainly not least, one bizarre looking kid 'poofed' into the room, for lack of a better term. Not only that but there was no Angelo in sight.

At least the professor had some semblance of a normal appearance, but Brad was careful not to get his hopes up. Taking a seat near the front of the class, he pulled out a notepad and a pencil. Well, he had come to this school to learn and understanding Synchros would be an important thing to have under his belt.

Tsukiko took note that Vincent confronted her despite she didn't want him to even say a word to her. She didn't want to explain to him why she had such a feeling that burned in her eyes as the abhorrence stirred her mind into a frenzy. The hatred in her mind was a scorching hot as a volcano which could burn to the touch if you got too close, but the cold chill in her eyes kept that volcano from erupting anytime soon. All she wanted him to do was move aside so she could sit in the back row since she didn't want to say anything to him. She had no interest in talking to boys since they're all jerks to her. All he has to do is move... Ugh... What a pain... Tsukiko thought in her mind when she heard him speak toward her. She didn't like his choice of words, especially the 'holier than thou' part. That rammed right into her mind like a siege weapon broke into a castle. "How did you know my name?" That was the first words that came from Tsukiko's mouth since she had never introduced herself to Vincent. She didn't understand how he knew her name unless he heard it through hearsay or some other method. Is this creep stalking me when I least expect it? I never told him my name and... Her thought was interrupted when he started to speak again. She still wanted to know how Vincent even knew her name unless Leander told him. That's right, I totally forgot. Leander gave him my name... She thought to herself for a moment then it really hit her like a brick where she momentarily closed her eyes and then opened them again to realize she had given him her name yesterday when Leander was introducing Vincent to his friends. Though to call Leander her friend would be an overstatement. I told him my name? Ugh, what was I thinking? Obviously I wasn't thinking at all to act so carelessly. "Why I told you my name I do not know?" She added as she took time to turn her attention toward Maisy who looked to be concerned with the nature of how things were progressing.

"You're fine. I wasn't going to sit over here anyway. Just stay where you are and I'll remove myself from your presence shortly." Tsukiko said coldly toward the girl with a tie and cap which was sitting down. As much as she hated to admit it, but he did have a valid point. She was sitting there first and he was also standing there talking to her, but he got in her way when she was trying to enjoy herself. It felt like the times her father walked all over her happiness when she tried to show him the inspiration her mother gave her. It made her father so angry that he told her to stop acting like a child. The sad reality between her father and her is that she was never once allowed to smile in front of him. All she was allowed to do was feel miserable as he treated her like some kind of field testing experiment. "I never said I was better than anyone else. I don't know where you got that!" Tsukiko answered back toward Vincent when he was saying that she thought she was like the queen of the world and all her subjects had to bow at her feet. That's not how she was trying to act at all. She just didn't want anything to do with anyone. They couldn't understand if they even tried. No one understood her pain other than her brother, but he abandoned her after the first day leaving her with nothing but solid emptiness. She sighed as she mumbled to herself as she remembered all those rumors that spread like wildfire about her the other night. "Must be those rumors... Just my luck. This life sucks. Has no meaning... It would be better if everything just faded into darkness..."

"I never said I want to sit with you. Where did you get that idea? This is why I think all boys are jerks. You always get the wrong idea." She retaliated when Vincent asked her if she wanted to sit with them. The last thing she needed was another boy prying into her mind trying to turn her whole world upside down. Even though she felt kind of bad getting Maisy involved in this when she had nothing to do with she didn't show it all. She pretty showed that she didn't care what other people thought of her as she went into one of her cute hmph gestures as she squared her arms against her chest and crossed them. She then heard him ask why she disliked him so much. She usually didn't hate boys as bad as this, but it was different with Vincent. It was just a feeling she couldn't explain. How he acted back during Hayato's duel scared her toward the point her body went into defensive mode. "I... well..." She stuttered as a terror trembled inside her body which made her think of her father. She tried to get the words out, but to no avail. She tried another approach to see if she could say something to Vincent. "It's not that I..." She looked away again still that tense feeling which invaded her mind as fear settled in remained. She tried everything to say it, but she couldn't do it. Not in front of everyone else and even if she did would he even believe her? "AAAHHHH!!! FORGET IT!!! IT'S NOT IMPORTANT ANYWAY!!!"

"Even if I told you wouldn't believe me anyway. JUST FORGET IT!!! Save yourself the burden of having to be with such a hateful person anyway. I'll just sit over there." There she pointed at one of the seats across from her position as she took a pause and a time to take in a breath of fresh air since she was still feeling pretty under the weather. She wasn't convinced that Vincent actually cared why she hated him like that or if he was just pretending. She wasn't about to find out since she had her heart torn to shreds way too many times. The last thing she needed was another jerk toying around with her mind like a maniac. "I don't know why you care now? You didn't seem to care earlier about me? So why is it now you give a damn! I think you're lying and trying to trick me. You're pretending to be my friend just so you can get amusement out of tormenting my mind. I don't need another deranged person playing with my mind. I will just excuse myself and go sit alone. It's not like you can change my fate anyway. I'm destined to be consumed by the darkness which embraces me. I will excuse myself now." Tsukiko concluded as she showed a very sad look in her eyes even though her cold exterior tried to veil it. "Do me a favor and just leave me alone, okay? I don't need anyone giving a damn or feeling sorry for me." She added as she momentarily turned her eyes back toward them for a moment taking a seat as she tried to mind her own business. She was hiding the massive pain she was shouldering by herself. No one would be able to understand what she went through anyway. Nobody cared either which was the cruel mistress that one called reality. Only in fantasy does everything work your way.

She walked over toward one of the desks across to notice Michelle was over there too. The person she lost to the other day though she didn't want to think about that. She wanted to get the hell as far from the group group as she could without saying a single word to Michelle only a brief glance and decided to take a seat in it. "You... why did you..." Tsukiko said coldly for a moment for a moment as she prevented herself from finishing that statement. As much as she wanted to try to blame Michelle for what happened last night she couldn't. It wasn't her fault and she didn't need to be sore about losing to her though it did still affect her in ways she couldn't explain. "Never mind. Forget I said anything." She finished as she turned toward Michelle for a brief closer look into her sorrowful eyes that were brewing a storm before she walked away in the direction she was going to sit. She was going to ask why Michelle helped her up the other day though she couldn't find the words. She also remembered she made a proposition toward Michelle and since she lost she would still have to hold her end of the bargain. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that though if it did, she had no choice but to tell her what she wanted to know about that fateful day.

It was obvious she was very lonely needing a friend to help her carry the weight of the pain which plagued her like an anvil crushing her with all its weight, but she refused to let anyone get close to her where they could understand her more. The sad look in her eyes as if she was almost about to cry was still present even though the icy scowl on her face tried to fool people into thinking that she was just a nasty mean girl when she really wasn't. She just used it as an excuse to distance herself from people. Just like she used her father for a reason to get herself away from Vincent. She had no one to blame, but herself though her past had taken quite a toll on her. She felt like she had lost everything that was dear to her including her brother where she fell further out of touch with society trying to become distant like a star that is about to fade away and die. She knew even then nobody would care, because she's a nobody from a wealthy family who was pampered like a spoiled brat princess from a very young age which actually wasn't true. Tsukiko used to be a very reasonable and understanding individual. That all changed after her mother's death and her brother changed forever never going back to the same person he was. It's like my brother said... You are what you are no matter how much you hate it. The shadow of yourself which you see in the mirror that dissolves into the mist of dreams is nothing more than an illusion. Once your true self dies, it dies for good with no hope of return. There is no hope for me. There is no reason for me to have faith in such an empty life with no rewards other than solemn loneliness. Must I be embraced by the shadows of despair to live the rest of my days this way? She thought to herself as she hoped Vincent didn't try to go over and try to brighten her day. Another jerk yesterday named Angelo did the very same then said something foolish which she knew was a lie. He never actually cared though she wasn't disappointed since she knew the truth all along. That's what she wanted to believe anyway. Whether it was true, remained to be seen.

The Turbo Dueling instructor smiled when he saw the various students pour in. All seemed to be different in their own way, reclusive, bold, excited... And also, rude if he had to judge by Camryn's sudden collapse and comment. For some reason, the girl had said "Good god, how d'you people manage in this heat?! It's ridiculous!" in complaint, followed up by "And with all due respect, Sir, so's your outfit. No offense.". The man raised his eyebrows in confusion for a bit, kicking himself off from the wall. "Well, I was expecting a little more respect from my students..." they muttered under their breath, then scanned the group of kids. Now that the teacher had gotten a good look in, a lot of the Turbo Duelist students this year were female. Maybe like a 3-1 ratio.

"Alright, glad to see you all here in such a timely fashion!" they started off, clapping their gloved hands together. "I'm Ryder Cellrate, your instructor for the year." Ryder introduced themselves, then raised their left thumb and pointed behind them to Camryn. "As for my 'Ridiculous outfit', this is a riding suit." a quick pat on the chest followed, proceeded by looking over all the students to show he's addressing everyone. "Don't get me wrong, but Turbo Dueling is dangerous. These suits protect you from the harsh winds you experience when driving around, and are the only thing protecting you if something goes wrong and you go flying. I want to get this out of the way now, but I don't want to see ANYONE try to ride around on a Duel Runner with one of these on." Ryder explained. It was pretty important to follow safety protocols, and telling the students to not screw up was kind of his job.

"Anyway, let's not stand around here for too much longer. Follow me into the garage." the teacher ordered, turning and walking off towards the main entrance. He quickly slid in the key to unlock the door, swung it open and turned on the lights. They flickered for a second, then sprung up in a bright white flash. It illuminated a small mobile desk not too far from the entrance, with a small suitcase on it. On the left side of it, which was also the longest part of the garage, were parked an immense variety of Duel Runners. Students weren't supposed to go near them yet though, with a locked metal fence separating them from all of those. On the right were rows of changing booths, as well as rather large box-like construction painted in the same color as the walls. On the other end of the room was another set of doors, presumably leading into the arena of the building. Ryder walked over to the desk in the middle of the room, pulled up a chair and went to sit at it.

"Allllriiiight, First things first." the teach began "There's three things that need to happen right now. First, I need to give you guys your first set of Speed Spells. I'll explain what those are when we get to the actual dueling lessons, but I've been informed by the principal of each of your deck's and have picked out appropriate speed spells accordingly. I'm going to call out names and you'll receive them. After that, make your way over to the changing booths. We already have each and every one of your measurements, so form-fitting suits have been provided. Each booth will have a name on it, and that will be where your suit is located. Also, you'll be using that same booth unless you switch courses or finish the year. Lastly, we're going to be running a simulation in an hour to get you guys accustomed to Duel Runners via a provided room that replicates the experience. Failing is fine as there's no real repercussion, but you'll have to succeed in clearing a course there before you'll be allowed to try riding on an actual Duel Runner with autopilot off." Ryder exhaled in relief for a bit at that mouthful of an explanation, kicking back in his seat.

"So to repeat, I'm going to call out your name. Then you will get your Speed Spells, and then you should head over to the changing booths. Also, I've been notified of a certain 'Ignia' student having just transferred. Whoever Ignia may be, you will have to use one of the guest booths to change as there wasn't any time to prepare one for you. It's the first one you'll encounter. Anyway, on with the names! First off, Ethel Cilente. Please come forward to claim your Speed Spells." Ryder started, and after handing out Ethel's part, continued down the list systematically calling out names one by one.
The teacher at the front was scribbling down notes when the commotion started to rile up all around. They stole a glance at some silver-haired girl chasing a butterfly, and two boys walking in whilst chatting. Everything seemed to be pretty normal, although time was running a little low and not all students seemed to have arrived yet... He'd give them a little bit extra time, given things are pretty calm right now anyway. That was, he WOULD have, had someone not suddenly started shouting out of nowhere. The teacher got startled, not expecting the sudden ruckus, and someone seemed to throw an absolute tempter tantrum. They pulled out a list from underneath their papers, scanning the names and pictures, and found who it was that caused this uproar. "Miss Ikushirou! I would prefer it if you stopped causing noise complaints and took a seat. Classes are now in session." the man instructed, feeling that if he didn't start classes things might've gotten out of hand. Some whispers already came from the room, remarks of 'Drama queen' and 'problem' being the most often made. The door was left open, for any student that would enter in late.

"This applies to all of you." the teacher quickly intervened, and the class fell silent soon after. Nodding in approval, they stood up and addressed the class once more. "I'm Peter Wilhelms, and I expect you all to call me Mr. Wilhelms when addressing me by name. I am not here to be you friend, so I don't want anyone addressing me by my first name like some other teachers in the building. In return, I'll also be respectful to you." Wilhelms introduced themselves, then walked further back into the room. After pressing a button on some remote they pulled out of seemingly nowhere, a screen behind them flashed up with various card images. "As you all know, I teach Synchro summoning. Synchro is performed by utilizing monsters called 'Tuners'." With another press, the card Tune Warrior got highlighted.

"By adding up the levels of a tuner monster, alongside the level of one or more non-tuner monsters, a Synchro Summon is performed. You can only Synchro from your side of the field, naturally, and only during your Main Phase unless a card effect states another time." Wilhelms pressed the remote twice over again, flashing up the level four Vorse Raider. Those two changed into a small formula, namely 3+4=7, and soon after a different card replaced those two. That card being the level seven Synchro monster, Lightning Warrior.

Some random kid in the class asked a question of why everyone had been going over basic material like this, and the teacher raised one eyebrow in confusion. "There are a lot of people that have never performed, or heard of Synchro Summoning before. Yes, it is the favorite of some professional duelists, but not everyone..." the teacher trailed off, going into a rant about professional dueling. After a while and with more questions from the students, the topic suddenly started to shift from Synchro summoning to the reason teenagers would start smoking or using drugs. Also that the world has changed massively, where only twenty years ago you wouldn't know where to get any of the stuff yet now someone always knows someone else. Soon, the lesson wasn't really about Synchro summoning at all.
Ethel had a feeling things were going a little too well for her today. It'd been about an hour without someone bothering her without provocation, a new record for this place. But alas, to all good things come an end as a certain energetic little girl bounced up right next to Ethel. "Hello Ignia." she replied, looking a little to the side to meet the other's eyes. They shifted from bubbly to intelligence, something the older of the two still couldn't make out how it was possible. "We'll see." Ethel replied to Ignia's statement she would crush others. It was a foregone conclusion, sure, but Ethel didn't need some else's confirmation. She rolled her eyes when Ryder explained that Turbo dueling was dangerous. Of course it was, you're going at high speeds on an open vehicle. She'd assume people had enough common sense to realize that before signing up for this course. And his name was... Stupid. First Snipes Crosshair looks like an army man, and now there was a guy who's name refers to riding a high speed vehicle teaching about them? This school seemed to be getting less prestigious by the minute... But they could be good at their job for all she knows.

Ryder then went over to open the garage door, and Ethel stalked close behind. She didn't pay much mind to Ignia, but that was more because of the fact she wanted to get on with the lesson rather than a particular disinterest in the other girl. Ryder explained everything very quickly, going over the facts without actually bothering to explain himself... Great. Ethel got called forward to recieve her Speed Spells, and so she did without a second wasted. The teacher handed her ten cards; Speed Spell - Mystical Space Typhoon, Monster Reincarnation, Allure of Darkness, Shift Down, Double Summon, Swallow's nest, Overboost, Half Seize and The End of the Storm. She read over them whilst making her way to the changing booth, seeing one term keeping on repeating: Speed Counters. What... Were those? She'd figured that was the 'gimmick', regular spells can't be used because they don't use Speed Counters. But how do you amass them? Only one actual card gave them to her, and took them away in the same turn...

Soon, Ethel stopped before her own changing booth. Yeah, there was her name alright, carved into an iron plate. She opened the door, scanning it. It was pretty basic. A small gap was between the floor and the door, but otherwise the thing was sealed shut. A small coat hangar hung off a hook on the wall, with Ethel's riding suit hanging from it. The booth itself had a little room to move around and leave clothes, but otherwise not much else was accommodated for. It was fair, considering there were a lot of booths and everyone needed some space. Ethel quickly undressed down to her underwear, then took her suit. She scanned it over. The colors were fitting, a mix of large open spots of her signature dark blue mixed in with stripes of alternating black and azure. Maybe the academy kept people's tastes in mind? Pushing that thought aside, the girl slid into the suit with just a little difficulty. It seemed to be awfully tight for some reason... She zipped it shut, then looked over to a small bench built into the booth's wall. In it's corner was a pair of gloves, anti-slip. Ethel slid those on as well, then double checked to make sure he put on everything properly.

The teen slid a spare hair pin into her hair, balling up the hair on her back into a dot. This way it wouldn't get in the way and hang loose on her shoulders, unlike her hoodie where it hid underneath the cap. The two signature locks at the front still hung free, though. Ethel exited her changing booth and proceeded to walk over to a nearby mirror to check how she looked... Well, the answer would be that she looked very... Provocative. The suit was strapped to Ethel's skin like it was magnetic and she was metal, putting some focus on her more... Well-endowed areas. They noticed nothing wrong with it, though, and found it to be pretty comfortable once the initial choking feeling of the tightness wore off. Her disk hung from her left arm, and the deck already had all her regular spells switched out with speed spells. Content, Ethel nodded to herself and went back over to the area Ryder was in to wait for the next part.
Haas saw nothing really interesting was happening for the first few moments, so he decided to... Doze off. Class wasn't starting for a little while anyway, so getting in a little nap wouldn't hurt. Funny enough, at the same time the boy closed his eyes Tsukiko decided to stroll in which caused Haas to completely miss her. The only moment he'd have to notice her was when he was suddenly jolted from his nap when he heard Tsukiko shout something out loud. "...Gnhuh?!" Haas let out in a surprised gasp, frantically looking around for the source. Well, truthfully, he didn't have to look very far. From over where he was sitting, a little higher up, he could see Tsukiko almost ready to burst into either flames or tears. Couldn't tell which one.

"...Tsu-?" Haas was about to start, though got quickly denied when she turned around and walked off into a different direction. Not even seconds after, the teacher ordered Tsukiko to sit down as well. Some girls were giggling behind Haas, whispering things into each other's ears. The boy managed to catch a small bit of what they were saying, and soon after, went a little red in the face from anger. 'Wow... The drama queen rumors were true, huh?' 'How pathetic!' 'Hey, I heard she acts like a bitch just like her brother.' were just a few of the phrases they threw around, laughing in Tsukiko's direction all the while. Haas kicked back his chair and stood up, facing the group of 'Bullies'. "Hey, don't talk about her like that! She's such a nice person!" Haas rebutted, which only got laughter thrown at him. "What is she, your girlfriend?" they commented, right before the teacher made the comment for people to quiet down. Begrudgingly, Haas obliged and proceeded to sit down as well. He couldn't believe these people! They didn't even know her, so how the hell could they judge Tsukiko's character like that?!

Though he wouldn't have much time to ponder over it. The teacher started talking about Synchro summoning, and Haas already pulled out his notebook to... Well, take notes naturally. Scribbling down the info fed to him, Haas always double checked to make sure he got things right. It didn't take long, however, or the teacher derailed into something else entirely. The boy was left confused, unsure what to do here. He awkwardly took a look around the room for someone that could get the lesson to move on already.

Hayate sighed with Tsukiko denying her request and walked off to class slightly disappointed and started to run towards the classroom ignoring the elevator when arriving at the classroom she felt a sudden jolt of pain in her legs which surprised her which made her lose her balance and looked like someone tripped her and landed right next to Vincent on the floor "ow ow ow..." Hayate uttered getting up and noticed Vincent and skittered off to get a seat in the corner alone and started to wonder what happened earlier and noticed Hayato coming in dropping off her mini solid vision projector and sat in the other corner of the classroom without saying word which made her wonder even more "I wonder what happened to him..." Hayate said to herself and looked at Tsukiko worried about her "Was she alone as well?" Hayate put that thought in her mind as she sat alone in the corner thinking about how to cheer Tsukiko up as she would hate to see someone that sad from the inside as she believed that kindness can heal any mental wound no matter how large they are though it might take a while to cheer Tsukiko up and sighed and pulled out her blue-eyes "What should i do...?" Hayate asked her card expecting an answer but sadly cards don't talk... it would have been weird if they did

Shortly after the teacher had started the lesson she started to take notes with her paper-craft once again which was strangely fascinating to look from a distance and the fact she was able to build her paper-craft as fast as she is in response to everything that was being explained at end of the class she had created paper-crafts representing every monster that was shown on the board including the synchro monster itself but sadly the lesson was quickly changing into a lecture about life and other things and looked at Tsukiko who was being bugged again and decide to step up to her once again and complained to the teacher pay attention to the classroom and continue the lesson with her paper-craft on the table showing off in order how a synchro summon worked and sighed "You really should stop talking about society and continue about the synchro summons instead" Hayate would say but doing that would get her in trouble so instead she started staring at the bullies in front of Tsukiko almost ready to just kick them if anything not that she would... she has surprisingly strong arms and legs after all but after a few moments she sat back down making more paper-craft out of habit she had made another blue-eyes though this time she added smaller scale Dark Magician to scale with it she did feel a bit like a child making so many detailed paper-craft on her own

Megan eagerly scribbled down notes in response to the teachers presentation. The lesson was laid out in a very basic and easy to understand fashion, which pleased Megan, despite a comment or two from the peanut gallery. They may know how to do this already but she was here to learn. However pretty soon the conversation shifted to other, more boring things and Megan put her pencil down and waited for they to get back on topic somewhat irritated. The discussion on professional duelists had been mildly interesting and related but drugs and alcohol, while entertaining, had nothing to do with the lesson. However she was reluctant to bring it up to the teacher because she didn't like interrupting her betters, so she settled for muttering under her breath. "Be nice if our class on synchro summoning talked about synchro summoning." Mr. Wilhelms sure got distracted easily.

Sure she knew how to do it now, but that wasn't enough in it of itself. Were most synchros a certain level or had similar effects? Was there a set of cards that countered them? Was there a quick fix to them or do you have to dedicate a lot of deck room if you wanted to counter? How easy was it to work synchros into a deck, were there tuners that naturally fit into other decks, like warriors? Her lack of knowledge was frustrating and she couldn't turn to anyone other than the teachers for help, as shown by the light dorm's response. Bored now she began doodling Gilford the Legend on her paper. She had yet to summon him yet but was eager for the chance to get so, even better if his effect allowed him to load up and defeat the opponent in a single shot. Her doodle grew in size, until he was holding every weapon in her deck, with the little caption, "ITS OVER 9000!" above it.

Andre had his book out and was writing notes down scribbling while ignoring any of the teacher's comments about the effects synchro's had on children and teenagers especially since they were released. He himself had never had that problem with synchros and none of his brothers who both had at least one synchro in their decks...though Ben did hate Laudsallyn with a passion. The card embodied everything he DESPISED about the tale of Arthur. The seduction of a man's wife, the betrayal of one's king, and the fall to power. Ben was such a poet that he had sometimes refused to bring out Laudsallyn at times. What an idiot. If Laudsallyn could win him a duel why not use that black knight's power? Who cared what he stood for? Was Artorgius so special that he needed the spotlight over everyone and everything else? He himself had been considering about buying more synchros. Maybe trying out some stuff with plague spreader to top deck some cards. Maybe he'd get lucky and get about that one masked chameleon card he had heard was used a lot. Who knew what class would hold for Andre in the future? He was truly intrigued by the aspects of synchros and their diversity. Xyz had a similar quality though in the end they were simply so standard. Two or more cards mixed together to form one big monster. Sometimes monsters didn't need to be still on the field, sometimes they served better in a graveyard. With his deck his graveyard was all important after all. Fodder for his Emperor, fodder for his necrofear, and even more so maybe he could more cards to increase his special summoning powers. His normal summons were great with sinister yoshirio but he needed to make his strength more...palpable...to his enemies.

Ben tried to pay attention, he honestly did, but when he heard the kids talking trash about Tsukiko he couldn't help but get a bit frustrated. He wasn't above interrupting a lesson but he saw that another boy had already handled the ordeal for him. Henry sat next to him along side another boy from Team Awesome and he told them to make specific notes about cards they had for synchros. Numbers were everything as the teacher had said and he know understood why Andre had been so intent on synchros. It was right up his alley but for Ben himself? The whole god damn thing made him feel a bit uneasy. His main monster synchro was a literal monster. The man who betrayed his king...such a thing...it's not something so easily done but too almost kill his king and seduce him wife? That was a whole different level of crap. Laudsallyn...the mere fact that he had him in his deck made him ill. He'd take him out if the man himself wasn't so useful in the right situations. In the opening duel...against Angelo...he'd gotten lucky. And that made Ben sick. His cards failed him but came back at the last second. If he had been forced to bring out the dark knight of Avalon he would've...but he wouldn't have wanted it to end that way. He just hoped he wouldn't need to use him. The last time...wasn't so pleasant for Ben. Bad memories aside he was sincerely thankful this lady cared about her students to mention the side effects synchros had on some people. He just hoped they would listen no one deserved to suffer. No one deserved to get hurt in this world. The world....was beautiful. Everyone just failed to see it through the smog of hate...but maybe...just maybe Ben could get through too some people and reach out past that smog. He had a chance right now but the school year was just starting and Ben...well he figured that it was too soon to make big moves so it was all in biding his time at the moment.

"Ohh, it's a riding suit. My bad, I didn't know." Camryn said. She hadn't meant to be rude, but it looked like Mr. Cellrate had taken it that way anyway. She was one of the first few students to follow Mr. Cellrate into the garage, and she was fairly astonished at what she saw. "Whoooaaaa! This place looks way bigger on the inside than the outside!" She admired the Duel Runners from afar, in particular a model that looked very streamlined and modern, and was painted a dark purple. She began daydreaming about riding it, but was returned to reality by Mr. Cellrate beginning to exposit. Camryn listened intently, appearing a bit crestfallen at the end when she heard that they weren't able to ride the Duel Runners in their first class. Makes sense, I guess. The school doesn't want people splitting their heads open on their first day because they weren't used to the controls of a Duel Runner. She waited patiently for her name to be called, idly noting that the first person to be called up to receive their cards was the blue-haired girl with the weird outfit she had seen during breakfast. What a coincidence.

Brad hated note taking. He had always been terrible at it. His handwriting was both slow and almost illegible. He remembered Coach making a joke about how if football didn't work out for him, he could always become a doctor.

That being said, it was a necessary evil. As the professor got more and more off-topic, Brad was torn. On the one hand, it gave him more time to catch up on the other notes. On the other, it meant he was stuck listening to an old man's rant against the youth instead of something actually useful.

As much as he hated to be 'That Guy', Brad wasn't going to waste the education he was offered at this school. Raising his hand, he spoke up. "Professor Wilhelms, is there any other way of summonin' Synchro monsters aside from Synchro Summonin'?"

Angelo smiled as he got their and soon he saw the others and it seemed like Ethel was able to join him in this class so it would be nice to try and duel her and see if she reveals her true nature during the roar of the engines and the speed. Soon the teacher explained that what he was wearing was a riding suit it looked a little weird but honestly it made sense if it provided the protection that a turbo duelist needed. As the teacher showed them in Angelo looked around to see how huge it was and he looked over to the garage and he went over to the gate to look in more clearly it was something beautiful. Angelo only had a dusty shed to work in with his duel runner back home if he had a proper garage like this he would have made his duel runner even better. Angelo hoped he would have a spot here with his request that he put in along with those parts "Mr. Cellrate when I put in a request to have a spot here does that mean I get a key to one of these spots or what?" Angelo asked since he did put in the request around the time he first got here so he wondered how long it would take to be allowed to get his requested items...

Michelle was a bit confused when Tsukiko spoke to her the way she did. Tsukiko seemed like she was having some issues, though what they were Michelle had no idea. Michelle then took a seat when the teacher spoke, realizing that class was now starting. The teacher started off with the very basics of Synchro Summoning, introducing the monster type known as "Tuners", and how they were used with non-Tuner monsters to Synchro Summon the Synchro Monsters. Michelle nodded at each sentence, confirming in her mind that this was indeed correct information. Leander instantly began daydreaming, his mind lost in his fantasies of Dueling.

The class started off well, but then the teacher began to get carried away in the change in topics. Way away. Michelle waited for the teacher to notice, but after some time had passed, it was clear that the Mr. Wilhelms was going to continue in such a fashion if he was not interrupted. Michelle was about to hesitatingly raise her hand, until someone else raised their hand first and asked a question. Michelle waited patiently for the teacher's response.
