Name: Dottery Dink
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Personality: Mayor Dink's personality fits his name - he's a huge dork. He's not generally awkward or shy (on the contrary, he landed his position in part due to his charming personality and social/networking skills) he just sometimes lacks inhibitions that others might have, and doesn't hide excitement or frustration from his face. You can tell he's working on an especially difficult task or on the brink of a revelation just by reading his face. That said, he doesn't vent his frustrations out on those around him, though he might be frowning when you greet him on the street, he'll always offer the respect of greeting you back, if respect is due.
Bio: Dink grew up in a small town not terribly far from Sugar Pine Village, and had originally wanted to be a teacher, an inventor, and a firefighter all at once when he was in middle school. In high school he settled for "teacher," and in his small town's college he earned his certificate. After a few short years he became fed up with the bureaucracy of public education and ran for school board. Having established a long-term familiarity with many locals, and running a fervid door-to-door and phone-to-phone campaign, he earned a seat on the board. And he surprised himself when he found that, despite his dislike for the bureaucracy, he was considerably good at it.
During his time on the school board, Dottery fell in love with a woman named Olivia. They married and had a child the next year, Denise, only to discover that things weren't working out between them. Agreeing that it was better for the child to have happier, separate parents rather than miserable married ones, they filed for divorce. A few years after the divorce, Dink volunteered for and was granted the position of mayor of Sugar Pine Village. With a few selfish misgivings, Dottery agreed that it might also be best for Denise to go to school in a town not in the tumult of being newly-established, and currently sees her every other weekend and on summer and winter breaks.
Profession: Mayor
Inventory: His father's pocket watch, his mother's necklace, a good book.

Willow Falkner
Age:
22
Gender:
Female
Appearance:
Personality:
Stubborn, resilient, strong willed, charismatic, yet elegant would be the best terms to describe Willow. She remains rooted in her own set of moral beliefs ranging from always giving a second chance to helping those who most need it. While remaining charismatic and socially intelligent she follows her heart above her mind. The consequences of the future can be dealt with then, but doing what is right now is what is important. Not one to be afraid to stand up to authority or others and she gives respect to those who deserve it over those who expect it. A natural speaker and innkeeper one could say as she puts home and family above herself, however her pride and will can get the best of her at times. Pushing herself to work too hard or ignore her own troubles if it means helping others first. Not wanting to make others worry. Throughout all this though, by the way she moves to the way she talks she seems to hold some sort of refinement despite her efforts at times to seem like a stubborn innkeeper when it's called for.
Bio (one paragraph, at least):
Willow grew up in quite the opposite situation of her current inn keeping occupation. Getting up, moving, and simply being able to do was her biggest wish for a longest time as the ill daughter to a wealthy family. As a child her mother would call her a frail flower, as passing as the days go by. Unable to leave her bed due to lack of energy and an inclination for fevers and sickness Willow was left with a closed view of the world. She was the first in the family, but last to receive the benefit of the will her father left behind with his passing. Instead, it would go to her younger brother with ambition. he was a true businessman, ruthless some would say, but one able to forward their family fortune. Willow, on the other hand, became much for attached and morally close to her caring grandmother who would help her throughout her childhood and into her teenage years when her body grew strong enough to begin moving.
With their close relationship, Willow gleefully returned the favor her grandmother had given her when she was bedridden by helping out cook, clean, and other tasks her grandmother would say 'kept the old bones moving'. Having not been born to wealth, rather joining the family after Willow's mother married Willow's late father, Willow's grandmother still had the aptitude to show and teach Willow how one would care for a guest as well as their family. Her brother used this to his advantage when deciding that as the new family head he could aim to negotiate Willow's betrothal as a means to improve business with one who had interest in her. Willow out right refused, taking in her grandmother's stubbornness for once which shocked her brother as he still saw her as the frail girl, but at the same time put a rift between them as he tried forcing the issue. Talking about how she was putting herself first over the family that had 'kept her around despite her dependent nature'.
The argument ended with a permanent rift between her brother and herself as his true feelings towards her came out that wasn't one of family. For a few years she had increasing restrictions around her in terms of wealth and control over anything related to their family name, so her grandmother convinced her that there would be a better life for her away from the politics and the wealth. Before the offer to head off to Sugar Pine came Willow and her Grandmother started working together where they could. Eventually ending up as a host and cooks for a nice hotel due to the skill displayed and Willow's grandmother having connections from her career when she was young. Skill in working with people as well as how to run the hotel quickly came to Willow as within the few time span of her 18th year to her 22nd, she had become a high standing manager and host working the most important situations. This career also helped Willow realize that perhaps she could give back what she felt was given to her when she was ill and needed support. As well as a desire to leave her more urban life as it disconnected with the desire to venture outside and into nature once she had finally been able to leave her bed regularly. That's when the offer to move to Sugar Pine was presented, and without a second thought she had taken it.

Name:
Charlotte Lachance
Age:
19
Gender:
Female
Appearance:
Charlotte is a fairly average sized girl. She stands roughly at a fairly good height of 5'5", though she wishes she was taller sometimes. Physically speaking, she's not too impressive - she's more of a bookish intelligent sort, or at least she attempts to be anyways. Her somewhat childish tendencies get in the way of that sometimes.
She has bright amber colored eyes and lush, long blonde hair that she keeps neatly cut to hang just below her shoulders. She says she takes great care in maintaining it, and uses her own personal blend of herbs and other things for shampoo and conditioners. Most of the time, she wears a purple and white dress that hangs just below her waist, with long black stockings that cover her legs. She can often be seen wearing a cloak, even in the summer as well.
Personality:
Charlotte is mostly friendly towards others, though she can be rash at times and is a fair bit sarcastic. She can come off as a bit mean to those who don't know her that well because of it. Stubborn and willful to a fault, she has a hard time of letting things go, and if someone has wronged her in some way, she'll often make sure to get them back for it. Or at least try too. If she fails, she'll just keep going until she succeeds. Thankfully, most of her 'getting back at' is just harmless little pranks, like pour a potion that is supposed to turn someones skin blue into their tea. If presented with a challenge, she doesn't stop until she has succeed it. Often times, this can get in the way of her own health - staying up for days on end or forgetting to eat are just a few of the things she's forgone when extremely focused on something.
However, she is far from mean or being hateful - in fact, she likes to think she's a fairly open minded and caring individual. She'll help any who ask her for something, free of charge and without any sort of compensation on her end - well, unless she has some beef with you or something. Then you should probably apologize first - but even then if its something really important she'd likely help regardless. She likes being by herself mostly - just her books, her cauldron, and maybe some quiet company. She doesn't like loud, distracting noises. She often goes for walks into the forest, looking for things that could possibly help her become better at what she does.
She dreams of being a master potion maker, creating all sorts of useful things for everyone in any profession. She can make simple medicines and some relaxing herbal teas currently, but nothing ground breaking. She's come to Sugar Pine in an effort to change that. The forest and other natural climate will greatly help in her research.
Oh, and maybe if she could find a test subject volunteer to help her, that'd be great too. She'll pay them, too! she's gotta get rid of those duds somehow.
Bio:
Charlotte's life hasn't been a terribly interesting one. She was born in some small country town out in the middle of nowhere as the only child to a farmer and a doctor. She had a relatively quiet life growing up, and almost always spent her time reading books of some sort, mostly avoiding the other kids in the area - usually helping out her father on his farm, or her mother with her work. Not because she was shy, she simply would rather spend time reading or doing other things that she thought was more productive. Add that to the fact she liked spending time in the forest alone - often bringing back odds and ends from it.
This earned the young kid a bit of a questionable reputation. She wasn't hated, really, but rumors started and people started to avoid her. It was around when she was fifteen, a traveler got wind of these rumors and visited her. He claimed to be an alchemist, a traveling scholar of sorts. He could teach her to put her skills to use - her parents of course refused but being the stubborn brat she was, she started meeting this traveler in secret. He tutored her for a few years, until she was 18 until he simply upped and left one morning with nothing more than a note and a promise that if she became good at what she did, they'd see each other again eventually.
Packing up her things, she left home without a word to anyone and decided to move to Sugar Pine, where she could be closer to a lush forest with properties she thinks could help her achieve her goals.
Profession:
Alchemist/Potion Seller. Runs the shop right out of her home, located close to Garlwood Forest. Most of the time she's there, or out in the forest collecting things.
She sells a variety of semi-helpful potions and medicines to people if they want it. Their effectiveness is often...questionable, however. She desperately seeks to improve her skills though.
Inventory:
Usually carries various potions on her.
Surprisingly warm cloak.
Journal - contains research notes and sketches of interesting plants.
Other:
- What is love? Baby don't hurt me. Don't hurt me, no more.
Charlotte has no idea what the mystical concept of 'love' even is. One will need to be direct. Really direct.
That said, she's also probably not going to be too picky about someones gender, if she does in fact finally figure out this mystical force called 'love'.
- Can be quite childish at times.
She likes donning a mask and wearing her cloak to pretend to be a superhero sometimes.
-Would like to move to a city made of ice cream.
She loves sweets. Any kind, but loves cold sweet things.
-Philosophers stone, anyone?
It may be a long shot, but she has toyed with the idea of somehow making some sort of life extending elixir. What self-respecting alchemist wouldn't?
-Likes doodling.
Really, though she likes drawing sketches of things. She's far from an artist, but if she sees an interesting ingredient, she'll make a sketch of it. She plans to eventually catalog every plant, insect, fungus and everything in the forest.
-New in town.
She only moved into town in the last month or so, so she doesn't entirely know her way around yet, or that many people for that matter. Anyone who shows her around would probably get a lot of brownie points with her.

Name:
Grady Keefe
Age:
24
Gender:
Male
Appearance:
Not exactly the most imposing of men, Grady stands around 5'7" and is quite muscular from his constant work on his farm. He has ruddy colored hair, and bright green eyes. Most of the time he wears his working clothes no matter what he's doing. It consists of Durable gloves, boots, and some comfortable overalls and plain white shirt. He carries various tools to tend to his crops on him at all times.
Personality:
Grady is a fairly friendly and laid back character. Often times when he's not working, he's taking a nap under the apple tree located just to the left of his house on his farm. Good natured, he doesn't take anything or anyone too seriously. He's fairly level headed and not a whole lot fazes the guy. Despite his somewhat lackadaisical nature, he does good work on his farm and his crops are some of the best in the region - something he takes a lot of pride in, but he tries not to let his pride get the better of him. Especially in contests - he has a bit of a surprising competitive streak.
Bio:
Honestly, if you asked Grady a few years ago if he would ever consider being a farmer, he'd have laughed in your face and told you your crazy. He grew up in the city, and always had a bit of a chip on his shoulder. A bit of a delinquent, really. In fact, he used to run a little circle of troublemakers back at his old high school. His parents were at their wits end with him, trying everything to get someone to direct his energy elsewhere other than his delinquent tendencies.
It was when he was accompanying them on a trip to his grandparents, that he finally settled down. His grandparents ran a farm a bit out of the city, and he instantly fell in love with the work. He doesn't know why, himself, but he loved it. His parents were quite surprised, but welcomed the change. Over time, his punk, troublemaker attitude vanished completely - and going to his grandparents farm every summer and helping them with their work was the highlight of his year.
When he was 22, after working on his grandparents farm full time for a little over 2 years, he wanted to start his own. So he saved up and bought a little farm in some small town known as Sugar Pine. Renaming it to 'Water Drop' farm, he set about turning the farm from a rundown field and broken down buildings, to a fully functioning farm. It's been difficult, sometimes backbreaking work, and at times he's been without a lot of money, but its been worth it. Two years later, the farm is doing fairly well - and he intends to make it even better in the coming years.
Profession:
Crop Farmer. He runs Water Drop farm, and can often be found tending to his crops. He's thought about building a barn and expanding to taking care of animals, but its a lot of work for one man to do, and likely won't without some additional help.
Inventory:
Various Seeds for planting
pocket knife for miscellaneous tasks.
harmonica
Other:
-Music Lover
Plays the harmonica, often likes to play his plants a lullaby at night. Likes all kinds of music, too.
-I caught a fish as big as my house once!
Likes fishing and other laid-back tasks.
-If its broken, I can probably fix it.
Fairly handy at most tasks involving hands. He makes a point to repair his storage sheds and things like that himself without the help of a carpenter or builder.
Grady Keefe
Age:
24
Gender:
Male
Name: Arianna Wiggins
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Arianna stands at a sturdy 5'9", her long dark chocolate hair either pushed back by a headband or tied up in a messy bun. She needs glasses to read, and she often has them on when she visits the local tavern, reading a newspaper or otherwise. She has a stocky build which she inherited from her father, and is well built from years and years of practicing her trade. She possesses a couple small scars on her body from a couple of run-ins with axe bits and misplaced saw blades.
Personality: Arianna could be described as the complete opposite of girly. She loves to get her hands dirty and handle heavy objects, making herself out to be as powerful as possible. She can be rather reckless, leading with her head when she is introduced in new situations. Of course, when it comes to her passion of the forest, she exhibits an air of peaceful focus as she chops and cuts, treating each and every tree like a gift from the Harvest Goddess herself. In fact, she will often confront anyone who would disrespect the forest. Around strangers, she enjoys to put on shows of her strength whenever she can. She also enjoys keeping up with local affairs. She loves food and alcohol, but hates cooking, as she doesn't have the gentle hand to mix ingredientts together in the right way.
Bio (one paragraph, at least): Arianna has worked under her father, a once legendary woodcutter, since her arms had developed enough to swing an axe. She idolized her father, taking any chance to work with him, from chopping simple wood rounds, to building huge sheds for clients. Everything Arianna knows and puts in to practiced every day she first picked up from her father. He was especially stern about keeping the condition of the forest pure, frequently reciting quotes from famous poets about the clarity of the woods.
Arianna herself was always interested in trees. They to her were true mythical giants, breathing life in to the world that so graciously kept them rooted in the ground, feeding them with water and minerals. They were to be respected as a precious resource. Eventually, as she got older, she was greatly saddened by logging businesses that went rampant in clear cutting forests for a profit. This hatred coupled with sexism throughout the woodcutting business would often steer her away from jobs of her own, and after learning all she could from her father, she packed her bags, her father giving her some of his prized equipment as going away presents, and catched the first bus for a certain Sugar Pine Village to start a woodcutting business of her own, which promoted minimalistic products and services without sacrificing quality. Currently, Wiggins Woodcutting is still a very small business that is soley run by Arianna, and will need a lot more advertisement to really start picking off.
Profession: Woodcutter, business owner of Wiggins Woodcutting, situated a fair ways in to Gnarlwood Forest.

Name: Freya Schulte
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Freya is a short, lean girl, standing at about 5'4 and 120 pounds. She usually dresses in very flowy, floral clothing. Her mother was somewhat of a hippie, and Freya took after her in that way. She usually has flowers in her hair, unless it's Winter. When she isn't feeling well, she braids her hair to keep it out of her face. She loves to dress up and always has makeup on her face. She has deep blue pools for eyes, with red hair that looks nothing like the rest of her family's.
Personality: Freya has always been too much of a sweet person for her own good. She deeply cares about the emotions of those around her, and she'll do just about anything to keep the people around her happy. She spends too much of her own money on gifts for people; it doesn't have to be a special occasion. She goes out of her way to help those in need, even if it means inconveniencing herself greatly.
Too many people have taken advantage of her kindness, though, which has caused her to be wary when it comes to getting close to people.
She loves to work in a customer service setting, because she feels that helping people, even if it is in the most miniscule of ways, is her calling. She also absolutely loves playing music. She plays her heart out on the guitar, beautifully so. She has had her beaten up acoustic guitar for as long as she can remember, and can barely remember a time when she didn't practice during her free time. Like every other person on the planet, no matter how sweet of a person she may be, she does has her demons. She drowns them with the wine that she gets shipped to her store with her own money; but only after store hours. Work is too important to her to drink on the job.
Bio (one paragraph, at least):
Freya grew up in a nice, almost suburban town. She lived with her mother, father, brother, and sister. She was the black sheep of the family. Her mother, Aada, grew ill when she was a young girl, around age 10. Aada was unable to do her usual housework as a stay-at-home mom after this, so Freya, being the eldest, inherited all the responsibilities that her mother had. Clean the kitchen, do all the laundry, cook dinner, get her younger siblings ready for school... She was forced to grow up very quickly at a very young age. Over the years, even has her younger siblings grew old enough to be able to help with the housework, her father, Arturo, continued to force her to do the work while her siblings did what they pleased. He never showed any love for her. She doesn't talk much about her family life beyond that; She only describes her childhood to people she is close to.
When Freya turned 18, her mother passed away. Her father, instead of helping Freya through the situation, kicked her out of their home, not caring what would happen to her. Freya had little money saved aside, and was forced to live in a low quality hotel in the city. She got a job at a general store nearby, and excelled at her job because of her thoughtfulness. Sometimes she would sit on the street outside of her hotel and play her guitar while singing for tips. She eventually saved a decent amount of money, and decided that she hated living in the city, so she bought a small building in a place called Sugar Pine Village, along with a small inventory to open a general store with.

Name: Lawrence Abbott
Age: 23
Gender: Male (with a name like Lawrence, you'd think people'd be able to guess it)
Appearance: Click.
Personality: Lawrence has that 'can do' attitude, meaning he'll never give up even if all odds are against him. This, of course, leads him to be foolhardy and almost fearless, and that usually leads him into bad situations. Due to this behavior, he's rather blunt and brash, often using the words 'damn' or 'hell' and saying what he means, even if it could possibly insult the people he's talking to. Get past that and he's... Well, not really interesting. His whole personality is built around his brutal honesty and use of swear words, so take that away and he's nothing.
Bio: Lawrence was born into an upper-middle class family in the city, his father being one of the higher-ups at a corporation and his mother being a hair stylist. Rather than going into his father's or (*shudder*) his mother's line of work, he chose from a young age that he was going to have a career in agriculture. At the age of 18, he moved out, but for five years couldn't afford to buy a chunk of land. After five years of going from job to job and living in dirt cheap houses, Lawrence was finally able to buy a small bit of land, only four acres, south of Sugar Pine Village. When he arrived, it already had the necessary buildings, but the buildings were in horrible condition and the soil was hard and almost infertile. And, to top it all off, he had no experience farming.
Looks like he's got his work cut out for him.
Profession: Amateur Farmer, owner of the Moonlight Farm. While not experienced, he believes that he'll be able to build his farm up and eventually become one of the greats.
Inventory: Black sweater, jacket (as seen in photo), blue jeans, farming tools (hoe, axe, hammer, sickle, watering can, bag of turnip seeds), keyring (with keys to his house, shed, silo, chicken coop and barn), and 300 dollars.
