"Certainly. Somewhere in my book I scribbled in a Firebolt spell, a basic Telekineses spell, and a spell for making glowing balls of light. It's all very interesting, if you could somehow read through my absolutely awful handwriting." said Kutur, his voice getting a dreamy tone to it which always seems to appear when he talks about his learning progress.

"I see. And how's that working out as a business?" Arjun asked. "I know that some people will pay good coin for a spellcaster's help. You are a wizard, right?"

"More or less," muttered Kutur with a grimace. He's still slightly touchy about how he had little formal training, being forced to teach himself half the spells he knows. "Once I finish up my lessons, I would no doubt find people who need arcane assistance."

"Maybe you should as the shaman for some instruction" Arjun suggested.

"I do. They only send a scroll a day. I swear, it's almost like they don't believe in me. But enough about me. How was the merchant's trails? Did you see anything exotic?"

Proud of the dead bunny under his arm, Archibold walked down the caves with a grin on his face. Naturally, he was going to skin it and boil it, so that he could help feed his family. But before that, he needed a new bowstring, as his bow broke in the hunt. He saw Arjun talking with another kobold. "Hey, Arjun, could you get me a bowstring from the market? You can have one of the backlegs" He said, and pointed at the bunnies rear end.

"I saw plenty of weird stuff, including -and you'll never believe this- people wearing things on the feet. On their feet! Like, they didn't need their claws for traction or anything!" Arjun's story was cut short by Archibold.

Arjun ran over to the "window" in his cave. "Er... a bowstring? I have one in my vest. One second!" He ran to get the string out of one of the pockets of his blue vest, then opened the door to let the newcomer in. He held out the string. "Here you are!"

Kutur looked up quizzically. There was a guy at the window asking about bowstrings. Of course, Arjun knows him from somewhere. Then he realized that the newcomer could see him through the window, with his obviously stuffed cheeks. Embarrassed, he quickly chewed and swallowed.

"Oh, don't worry Kutur. It's just Archie! Not sure why he took a human-sounding name. 'Archibold.' Hmm." He got up and turned to the newcomer. "Come on in!"

"Oh, Archibold? Sounds like a name from the Northern Islands of Drendrial. I loved that place! Everyone there was mannerly and refined, and called each other things like 'My Good Sir' or 'My Dear Lady'. They had the best illusionists there."

"I hope they didn't give you a hard time because you were a kobold. Hmph. The bigger races always looked down on us. And act like we're strange because of how we dress! They would be like 'why are you barefoot?' and I'd say 'why do you need to go through life with those foot coverings? Are you crippled or something? Can't you walk?' I swear, they never give the halflings issues with that stuff." Arjun replied.

"Eh, not too much. Maybe they didn't like me, but they sure did a good job of hiding it. Except for the older people, I suppose. I remember a particularly dislikable woman who was nearly obsessed with collecting unnaturally small animals, who gave me a real hard time in that one city, what was it called? Definitely a 'Lun-' something. Lundra, I think."

"Unnaturally small animals? That's odd. I hope she didn't mistake you for one of those. I've had a few times where well-meaning people have picked me up and hugged me. I mean, don't get me wrong; I appreciate it when people aren't repulsed by me for simply being a kobold, but those big hugs can really hurt, you know?" Arjun explained.

"Wow, really? Heh heh, now I can't get the image out of my head. You dragging yourself out of the mines after a long day hammering at the rocks, only for large butch Humans to say 'Awww da widdle adowible baby dwagon, holding a pickaxe like one of the big boys,' at the surface"

Arjun chuckled at that. "Well, more like they'd grab me while I'd have a vest full of trading goods, but sometimes I'd convince them to set me down and give me a little massage. Like petting a scaly dog. I'm not sure how I feel about what humans think of us, but I'll take a rubdown from them any day."

Kutur attempts to move the conversation along. "So along the trails, you can't expect every inn to serve the same things. Did you eat anything interesting? I tried this thing in Ragele called 'chocolit'. It was so good. I swear I had around 3 meals of it in one afternoon. I was sick the next day, but it was totally worth it."

"I once ate that choc-stuff. Didn't like it. Too sweet. So I fed it to one of the dogs, and I think it died or something. Not sure how those humans get so big, eating that kind of food. On the plus side, they've got this stuff called corm or cornin or something. I could eat that all day. Not sure why they feed so much of it to their cows. Seems like a waste of good food" Arjun explained, sitting down on a mat with his legs straight out.

"I can here yer" He said when they mentioned his odd name. "My father was fond of the islands of Drendrial, so nearly all my brothers and sisters have human-like names". "May i join the conversation?" He said and opened the door a little bit.

"Sure. We were talking about our respective travels to distant lands. Have you ever seen, tasted, or was nearly killed by anything that can't be found within 50 miles of the village?"
