"To be honest, I haven't really thought about where I'd like to go," answered Shiranui.

"Well, the Orange Islands have some beautiful beaches, as does the Seafoam Islands, and Alola." Joy said.
'Or you could vacation in Blackthorn City." Mr. Coleman suggested.

"As tempting as it is to hit the beaches, I think somewhere a lot closer to home would suffice for now," Shiranui replied, liking Mr. Coleman's idea, "I'll at least get to spend it with Liam and the rest of my friends."

"Well, we can go now if you're ready. Mr. Coleman said.

"I'm ready," Shiranui responded, "Liam?"

"Ready." Liam replied. Liam grabbed Shiranui with one hand and placed the other on his father's Alakazam. Liam's parents also placed hands on Alakazam.
"Best Wishes!" Looker called to them as the vanished via Alakazam's teleport.

Shiranui and the Coleman family appeared in Blackthorn City complements of Mr. Coleman's Alakazam.

They walked into the Pokémon Center and Liam's mother took his six Pokémon for healing. Liam figured they had two weeks to use as a vacation before needing to head to do Kanto's Battle Frontier. Then they could board a ferry to Pallet Town.

Shiranui realised two weeks was more than enough time to get to know his new friend Boukun and Blackthorn City was a very good place for it.

"Well, we'll have to see where the first contest is being held once we get there, and then it will be on to the Battle Factory."

[James Davy]

"The closest Contest Hall to Pallet Town would be in a place called Terracotta Town located off Route 2," stated Shiranui, "Since their contests are not official, the closest contests would be around the Saffron City area."

"Well, I had heard that like Hoenn, the other three regions that hold contests had amped up the number of contests they do." Liam said.

"I believe it," Shiranui agreed. His research into the Contest circuit had told him that Kanto and Sinnoh both started doing Contests at the same time and Contest Halls soon popped up in Johto as well.

"Well, now we have two weeks to relax. We don't need to worry about battles or contests until it is time to go Kanto." Liam said kicking his shoes off.

"Sounds like a plan," replied Shiranui, kicking his shoes off as well, "Kinoko, Gimansha, Hoshi, Numeru, Boukun, Majin, it's vacation time!" Shiranui let out all six members of his party. The Pokémon were excited to get some relaxation time and Shiranui warned Majin not to steal anything.

Liam called his six out as well. Goodra of course went straight to Numeru. Jiriya went outside and climbed a tree and stretched out on a branch. Sylveon simply curled up inside Scarlet decideded to meditate, Grimm went to get some sleep and Hitmonchan didn't know what to do.

"Hitmonchan, you can spar with Kinoko," Shiranui suggested to the indecisive boxer. Kinoko heard and showed Hitmonchan some of her fighting techniques. Majin was watching Kinoko show off while eating a bag of popcorn he pulled out of one of his rings. Hoshi was resting on top of the oki-gotatsu*. The Starmie's core was contentedly glowing with cool serene colours. Gimansha went with Sylveon and Boukun took a liking to the Goodra couple.

Goodra wanted to take Numeru to see the Dragon's Den. Goodra got Liam and Shiranui's attention. "Goo goo dra dra Goodra Goo?" Goodra asked pointing toward himself and Numeru and than to the Dragon's Den. "You want to take Numeru and show her the Dragon's Den?" Liam asked. Goodra nodded. "Well, as long as Clair doesn't mind I won't object." Liam said. "What about you Shiranui?"

"No objections from me," answered Shiranui, "We'll see what Clair says."

Liam called the Blackthorn Gym and talked to Clair. She had no objections either, as long as they don't get into a fight with any of the Pokémon who are already there. Goodra was happy opened the door for Numeru to go out. He would go out the door right after he did.
