This is an RP inspired by the Angel Beats franchise that will take place at the afterlife, at some undetermined time either before or after the canon story. No canon characters or events will be involved, thus it's completely spoiler free, using only the most basic premise that everyone is already dead and are trapped in the afterlife because of unresolved issues with their past lives.

Plot

"Welcome to the afterlife, I hope you will like your stay."

Akuma, greeting the newest arrivals.

You are a high school age (14-18) student that died after having a tragic life in a manner or another. Perhaps you lived most of your life at a hospital, suffered an accident after a particularly bad fight with a friend/loved one, was murdered just when you was about to achieve a dream, etc.

Independent of it all, the next thing you knew was that you woke up in a huge school of which apparently there's no way to escape. Along with you there were other kids of your age group that seem to be in the same situation, some of them might not even remember how their lives (and deaths) were.

As soon as you arrived, you met a mysterious dark-haired girl who claimed to be the Student Council President who informed you of your situation and that you can't leave. Your only option being to become an NPC, that is, an student that has lost their free will and conformed to stay in the afterlife forever.

What you're going to do to avoid this fate (or not) is up to you.

Glossary

PC

Player Characters, any students who are able to retain their free will and act against the system. Only PCs have the chance to free themselves of the afterlife. However, the way to do so is unknown to most of them. PCs are immortal and unaging, well, technically they can die, but they will always recover no matter how grievous the injuries they suffered were.

NPC

Non Player Characters, other students and faculty staff that don't have the ability to go against the rules established by the system. Simply put, they behave as if they were still having a normal day-to-day life, unaware of the fact that they are no longer living. It's not known if NPCs share the immortality of the PCs, but since never seem to age as well, it's very probable, though things might not work the same way for them.

Afterlife

Curiously takes the shape of a gigantic boarding school/academy complex with all the necessary dependencies for students to live here for an extended period of time without contact with the out side world. In truth, is a place where souls of teenagers that have some grudge left behind reincarnate for a reason yet unknown. Most of the time, it operates like the real world, but a few special rules seem to apply, as if it is some kind of big game. The reasons behind that are a mystery as well.

Rules

• Follow basic roleplaying etiquette, no godmoding, no OOC fighting/drama, respect everyone and abide to both the Guild's and the GMs guidelines, etc...
• Be kind to everyone and we will be kind to you. Not that I'd be unkind if you are, I would just have to ask you to leave.
• IC posts should have an ideal length of at least one small paragraph (around five lines), but please keep them well written. Just remember quality over quantity.
• Don't spam IC posts, wait at least a couple posts before putting up a new one. In case you need to do an extended back and forth interaction, I strongly suggest a collab post.
• Don't leave the RP without letting us know. Everyone is free to come and go as they please (as long as its in a reasonable way), just don't leave us hanging.
• Everyone is entitled one initial character, but this number might be raised sometime later. Post them here for evaluation before moving to the CS tab.

Appearance:

Akira deliberately keeps himself looking thin and feminine, removing unsightly hair and keeping his skin smooth. Often dresses in girl clothing, and even dies his hair on occasions. So used to dressing himself up and disguising the truth that he's quite capable of looking like any girl of similar build and height.

Personality: Akira has two sides of himself, the mask he wears and the face underneath it. His mask is confident, outgoing, and even seductive at times. He's quite proud of himself and his beauty. While he doesn't really make a point of emphasizing it, while wearing his mask he considers himself above the idea of male and female. While wearing his mask, Akira thinks of himself as a noble, who's above the common peasantry but also has an obligation to make sure those beneath him are satisfied under his service. Thus Akira is willing to reward those who work hard fairly, and can even be quite generous. While he isn't afraid to speak harshly to those he perceives to be lower than him, he'll also quickly come to their defense if someone outside his circle bothers them.

But underneath that mask is Akira's true face. While he may not literally wear a mask, when he puts on girl's clothing Akira feels safe, that he can express himself without fear of reprisal. All of that is gone when he isn't in drag. His true face is passive and apathetic, ultimately wanting nothing to do with other people's problems and just wanting to enjoy himself and his hobbies. He finds his male parts disgusting, but at the same time feels the need to be "a man" and live up to the ideal of a man. Akira has complex feelings about women, having no real idea what sort of things they go through and merely act campy in an attempt to endear himself to them. He does have a sort of idealized worship of their beauty, but he's well aware that things aren't as good as they look. But he likes to pretend and ignore the faults.

Akira loath himself for failing to meet his expectations of what a man is, and settles for trying to be a woman or at least "Above such foolish notions" in order to feel better about himself without actually improving. While he certainly has pride for his recent accomplishments, his past failures looms over his head, constantly reminding him that he's merely compensating for something.

Short Bio: Akira was born with a disease that made his body small and weak. Growing up, he was never as big as other boys, barely as big as other girls. He was sick often, but also healthy enough to keep living. Akira's family were not rich people and constantly had to pay expensive medicine and operations to keep Akira alive. His father in fact worked-himself to death, his final words towards his son telling him to be the man of the home and taking care of the family. But Akira couldn't do such things. He wasn't strong enough, not enough to be a man.

So Akira became a girl. During middle-school, Akira dressed as a girl, and tried to use his charms to make things easier for himself. And the frightening thing was, it was working. People liked him, but for the wrong reasons. They ridiculed him behind his back, called him a freakshow and a psycho. Akira smiled and said that this was who he was, and that he was proud for what he is. But he only did that because he couldn't stand up to the alternative. Using his disguises, Akira started flirting with older, richer men and women, entertaining them to help pay for his medical bills. Akira didn't even live past twenty when he died due to accumulating STD's, as well as his illness worsening due to delaying treatments until he could pay them off.

Other: Akira is a master of disguise and can apply these skills to others people or things. Matters of stealth and information gathering is his specialty, especially when it comes to learning about other people. It's almost as if he could read people's minds. Akira is also fairly athletic and is good with gymnastics, at least in the Afterlife, since here he isn't infected with his debilitating disease. He can dance, do acrobatics, and many other feats of agility in dresses and heels as if he was some sort of action anime character. That being said, he's a complete wuss in a fight and would sooner jump off a building than actually brawl. He's got a good aim though.

Personality
In Akemi's past life, she was always happy and joyful for the majority of her life, she would always congratulate other pianists in the competitions that she participated in. With her friends she was a little bit sarcastic, but only for comedic purposes so all of them could make it through school, her friends would often see her performances as well to cheer Akemi on. When learning about new things as a child, she would always listen and be dedicated to finish what she started. Akemi was like that until she was sixteen and in high school, her parents told Akemi that she would be marrying a man when she was eighteen, which made Akemi very upset.

After being informed of her upcoming marriage, she started to become extremely depressed and stopped participating in piano competitions, which started to worry her parents a lot. Every single time her fiance would always come visit, Akemi would freeze up, telling him that she was busy doing something. Akemi kept this up for two years, being full of fear and isolating herself from the world. On her wedding day her fear and sadness had reached a peak, to the moment where she ********** (If you read bio you may have an idea).

She will be in very sarcastic and jolly in the afterlife, but can be upset easily, even though she doesn't show it.

Short Bio
Akemi was born into a rich family, living in mansions, maids, the classic rich life for a person like her. She didn't have any siblings, so she would always be by herself in her home, as her parents are always on business trips since they both lead a major company. The company that her parents lead is called Aero Music, where they make musical instruments and sell them off to their stores in the city. Also, forgot to mention that Akemi lives in Azabu, Tokyo, Japan, the richest part of Tokyo. Akemi would always try to find something to do as a young child, so she decided to learn the piano in her home, her parents eventually reached a decision to get her a tutor due to them working all the time. When she was eight years old, she had started to play in piano competitions to become the best pianist in Japan.

Akemi had started to win many competitions as she grew up, she had to be the successor to the Masuko family line, since their family was very rich, well known and powerful after all. Akemi had always went to a private school growing up, she was always sent to an all girls school since her parents didn't want Akemi getting any boyfriends. Akemi continued to dominate in all of the competitions to the point of her becoming bored once again, she was getting famously known for her talent but it was starting to become everyday life. Akemi tried dating some of the girls at her school, and realized that they actually helped slightly in her bored life.

Eventually her parents arrived home one day when Akemi was 16, and brought a young man home with them. It was revealed that Akemi had to marry this man, which she was immediately surprised about. Upon meeting this young man, she didn't like him from the start, she always felt fear at the sight of him. Two years later, their marriage was set to be on January 1st, but the problem was that the bride never showed up. Her parents scavenged to find their daughter, and found her dead body in her room, with a knife in her abdomen. There was a note besides her dead body, but what did it actually say?

I liked your character very much, perhaps it was coincidence, but it's very cool for Akemi to be a pianist as well, I say that because on this RP, God plays the piano. Angel Beats really isn't the same thing without music, is it?
