Didn't look at the full listing the first time round. Don't quote me on this, but i'm not sure Palkia is participating in the tournament, but I'll get Ardent to swing by so you can ask her the next time we speak.

A few quick questions of my own.

How are the matched announced? Over a tannoy/posted on a wall somewhere/notified in person?

How much of a crowd are going to be watching the matches? Most of the public aren't allowed, so what are we looking at in terms of staff etc?

Are we in individual rooms, or all in the same room on different fields?

Just so I know how to describe stuff to Drystan ^.^

I'm not sure if Alexis is participating, either. So it's actually kind of convenient that they ended up fighting each other.

Sorry everyone, I had a draining weekend at LARP and my storytelling skills are still not in top shape.

Attendants are there to tell avatars where to go for their battles, answer their questions, etc. There will also be an official, public announcement right before each battle.

Most of the people allowed near the area are volunteers of some sort. About eight medics for each arena, a handful of cameramen and other tech people, two announcers in the commentator's booth, two refs for each arena, and about fifteen other volunteers helping everything run smoothly (ideally :P). There are also about fifteen sponsors and public figures watching in the audience. All these numbers are humans and do not include any Pokemon these people may have. Each person has no more than one Pokemon out right now.

Everything is in one massive, cavernous room. A large but not completely floor-to-ceiling wall separates the two battlefields. You couldn't see the other battle unless you flew or something, but you could probably hear it. The area is shaped sort of like a bowl, so the audience can look down and see both arenas.

Perfect, that covers pretty much everything, and in a great amount of detail. Now I just need to avoid turning Kaze into a fine red streak =P

Well, 7 new Pokemon revealed today, and it looks like the battles are officially starting! This is where the fun begins. Suddenly the images from the tournament in Lucario & The Mystery of Mew along with the Advanced Battle theme song started going through my head. More the song rather than images, but yeah.

Tapu Koko's naming scheme is certainly unorthodox, though. We don't typically have a Pokemon with two words to its name. I still can't deny I like its design; it just has an unorthodox name.

But of course I suppose one could attribute that to the fact of the region being based on Hawaii, so we run the risk of seeing a few conventions broken.

If you count honorifics (Mr, Ms,), then technically Mr. Mime would be the first one.

But yeah, they haven't really done the double name thing before. I like it though, it fits in with them expanding the Pokemon world. I think all the first four regions were relatively close together geographically, so they had similar naming schemes. The newer ones seem to be getting farther and farther away, so they would naturally have different cultures and naming schemes.

Mr. Mime and Mime Jr. both fit into the same unorthodox category, yet are also different from this new Pokemon at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's bad. Just unusual is all.
