Anastasia Vivian Desrosiers

Has anyone ever taken the time to look at what's going on? I'm sure with a little bit of time we can figure something out without a problem.

Age
Ten and Eight years of age
Plus seven months, three days, nine hours, seven minutes and approximately thirty-two seconds

Size
Five foot, three inches
, one centimeter and three militeters.
One hundred and fifteen pounds
Actually, it’s one hundred and fourteen point seven-eight, pounds.

Physical Shape
Before the beginning of the end, Anastasia was small and thin, with little real muscle to speak of and for the most part she has retained the same mass with little fluctuation. She has little body fat after the span of time and has gained just enough muscle in her arms and legs for the constant activity that she finds herself in every day. She has a flat stomach and slight curves that are still in the process of developing; long limbs and a medium length torso, long fingers. She has a slight limp as well, from breaking her leg and it not healing quite right.

I can run and jump just like everyone else, just don’t ask me to do it a whole bunch or I’ll end up dead like them. Then where would you be without the living Encyclopedia?

Scars/Tattoos
From her waist down to her calf there is a long and twisted scar, ragged and ridged from what could have been anything from a steel bean to a sicko with a knife. Compared to the natural paleness of her skin, the scar is an angry red, with patches of what appears to be grey and black near the edges of the scar tissue. From this long scar branch a few others, one of which is placed on her kneecap; the skin is fractured and the same grey, as if it's dead, and rough where the bone never set properly. Along the right side of her collarbone, there are several clean lines of pure silver that match those on her upper thighs and forearms.

Old Injuries
From the crash before the apocalypse, her leg never healed properly and thus affects her ability to walk straight. She limps quite often when she walks, and when the weather is wet or cold, she sometimes lacks the ability to walk at all, and at these times she and the rest of the group stay hidden until then. On days when her leg can hold her but troubles her, she uses a pair of crutches to walk, hidden in the center of the group.

It's good that we drive most places eh?

Skills
The things that people are proud of, are often that which they have spent the time to perfect. Anastasia has spent so little time on perfecting any single thing, that until after the apocalypse she had not even tried to figure out any single craft until the passed 13 months. Her aim is impeccable, but it is her ability to make quick calculations and observe the entirety of what is going on around her that makes her dangerous. Her hands are deft, and her precision when sewing and repairing is just as neat as her talent of calligraphy. Her truest talent and skill though, is her capacity to learn at an astonishing rate. She is a perfectionist, and as such there is little that she will not at the very least attempt not to finish.

Allergies
There is little that Anastasia has tried and without a doubt, knows she is allergic to and one of those is the degree of sunlight she may take upon herself. Being in broad daylight with constant direct contact, gives the girl hives; covering her skin and shading her face does help greatly, though she burns easily as well and stays that way for a while. Clouded days are the best for her, and she suffers from no repercussions of walking about during the daylight hours with clouded skies.

Personality
It’s clear to say that Anastasia is a bit of a smart-alec and a huge know-it-all. She’s spent every waking moment of her life gathering an extensive collection of knowledge inside of her head and she’s very proud of it, even if she doesn’t know exactly what to do with that knowledge half of the time. She’s a thinker, and will often rather spend her time puzzling over a problem than jumping into the action like many others do; instead she finds the best way to go about it first – before getting someone else to do it. Anna likes to play the back row and remain unnoticed by others until it’s a time when she can shine and put forth what she knows and put it to good use – she has demonstrated this before. Regardless of her love of learning she is never satisfied with what she knows and constantly goes on the search for something new to set her sights on, sometimes leading herself into dangerous areas and rumors, she is also shy and tends to refrain from greatly impacting her own emotions with the bonds of humanity. Unfortunately, she gets attached to those she likes and never wants to let them go either. She is capable of great compassion and loyalty, if one does earn her trust, and often spends her time in groups tending to the injured or avoiding confrontation all together.

Occupation
Librarian’s Assistant and Medical Student

Equipment
Mostly, Anastasia finds herself dressed in a pair of dark blue jeans, suited for easy movement though not restricting or getting in the way; a short sleeve shirt from the assortment of shirts she’s found or taken, primarily she likes to wear a plain grey shirt that is a little loose on her; her choice of footwear is a pair of worn sneakers she’s has since before the disaster, she hopes she’ll be able to find a pair of fitting boots before winter; a warn black zip up sweater, grey fuzz on the inside.

Inventory
In a traditional, three main pocket school backpack she keeps a utility knife, notebook for observations, three pens – one black, one blue, one purple – and a hair brush. Most items she keep on her rotate with the need as she rarely leaves the library and often keeps her things in the space she sleeps inside of. In the smallest of the pockets she keeps a picture of her mother, held inside of a black leather, men’s wallet she puts money she finds inside of. A box of matches sits in a plastic bag inside of the biggest pocket, closest to her back, just on top of the fabric grocery bag. As far as food goes she always keeps a bottle of water on her at all times, and at least two granola bars from what she has kept inside.
Really though, I don’t go anywhere. People come to me when they need something and they bring me stuff.

Weapons
Anastasia isn’t one for combat and prefers to stay out of the fray in such a way that she’s taken to using a slingshot and math to take down the enemies that she absolutely has to be rid of. She keeps usually about five or six steel ball barrings in a small pouch in her sweater pocket though prefers to use rocks and bits of rubble that work well enough and still fly the same. As well she has a staff – more just a study piece of wood – that she uses to keep them away from her when she really needs to. She is also in possession of a crossbow that she tends to bring places with her as well. She keeps the arrows tucked in a quiver hanging from her waist.

Neither requires me to have an overabundance of muscle, nor to get so close as they can touch me too; perfect for someone trying not to die but doesn’t have the strength to run.

Background

Anastasia was born to a high class family as the second daughter and the youngest of five children, with her three older brothers constantly causing trouble and her sister nearly fifteen years her senior. They lived in Venice, Italy for a long while, her parents having moved here for her father’s job as an artist and her mothers’ love of photography, in a modestly sized home with two floors and a small yard where the girls kept a garden. Anna was a strange child, she never cried and she didn’t speak, at least not until her sister had moved away to marry a posh boy in London whom had come calling after his homestay and educational exchange on the island; she never grew to know her sister well and most of her brothers were gone in similar ways before the three moved to America, the next stop on an endless train of moves.
They settled in a small town in South Dakota, living there until Anastasia reached the age of seven, a year and a half since they moved there and on to New York then Vegas and finally they stopped in Atlanta. Because of how often they had moved around, the girl found her friends in works of fiction and the text books at school where she would spend hours reading. Her parents learned she had an eidetic memory when she was nine and had recalled something she’d seen when she was only three years old – a pony on their property, described in picture perfect details. This was the purpose for their move to Atlanta where she attended none but the best schools and found herself in random university lectures simply because she left like it.
Where most kids would have complained about being forced into greatness, she embraced her own mind and began to learn everything she possibly could, from old text books to newspapers dating back all the way to the sixties, lyrics to songs her mother had listened to and dictionaries. She quickly became fluent in any language she tried to learn and was well on her way to becoming a linguist and translator when the accident happened. She was sixteen, beginning to grow into her mothers’ beauty when they picked her up from school one day and were hit head on by a large truck speeding down the street on the wrong side of the road. Her parents died instantly, but Anastasia, in the back seat of the car, miraculously survived the accident. It had crushed her leg and her heart so wake up six months later without a single familiar face around her. They’d called all of her siblings and none had come and it was even worse to learn that her parents had perished from a complete stranger. They had left her with enough money to live off of until she died, but what she needed was love and someone to talk to; she didn’t speak again for two years after the accident. After another few months her brother showed up at the hospital, alone and with only two bags of luggage, ready to take her home he said though she never understood why it was he who had come. James had spent little to no time with her at all, having been absorbed in studies of his own while he reached to become a great scientist to find a cure for anything he could – he was working on the biological weapons team without knowing, they were feeding off his research into various diseases.
Even though she didn’t talk for that long while, she wrote and they would learn together, helping her find her love of knowledge again until her leg was mostly better, a new metal knee cap helping her walk and a couple screws in her leg, though regardless she still walked with a limp and a terrible scar running all the way down either side of her leg led her to never wear the dresses her and her mother had bought again.
During a time when the infected were rising up, taking over and the military had yet to arrive, she was at the library picking out books for her next study project when the police officers had started to bring people inside, away from a group of approaching infected where they could hopefully protect them from the danger. It was a bloody fight and Anastasia saw enough of it that she spoke again, even if it was just a wordless scream and almost silent prayer for her mother and James. With the ensuing chaos almost none of the infect saw her make a dash for the stairs, crimpled and weak the thing grabbed onto her bad leg and sent a jolt of hot pain up her leg, causing her to fall onto the stairs and nearly drop the book she’d been holding. She kicked widely until the grip on her ankle loosened and scrambled up the stairs as best as she could, finding her way through the door and toward a bookshelf to hide behind. She managed to get that far before she doubled over for breath, fighting an asthma attack while it rounded the corner, looking for her. She swung without thinking, the large hardcover volume connecting with its head and causing its death.
By the time everything was done and she couldn’t hear anymore sounds, Anastasia had locked herself in one of the upper floor closets and silently cried herself out of panic. The salt of her tears, the metallic taste of her blood on her tongue, the sound of the dying she could still here; it was such a profound moment of realization that she was allowing so many to die without doing a thing about it that she would never forget hiding in that closet waiting for her brother to come save her again. When the door opened and the silhouette of a man stood outside she spoke, really, for the first time in two years.
"James?"
She had hoped, beyond hope, that her brother had somehow come to find her; he was the only person she'd ever really spoken to, even before she had left Venice with their parents when he had been living and studying abroad with their eldest brother, Isaac. It was disappointing to her to see that it wasn't her brother, instead it was the history professor she'd seen earlier that day. He'd survived, somehow, just like her. Over the course of the next two months he had helped her come out of that shell again and speak, while they had gotten closer and fortified their little space and tried to survive.
Anastasia knew though, that this little room would not last forever.

Quote: "Shut up and let me look at you." - Lara usually when someone is complaining about something hurting

Name: Lara Waters
Age: 24
Sex: female
Sexual orientation: Heterosexual

Allergies: Slight allergic reaction to cats, nothing to bad though. Just an itchy hand should she touch one or a sneeze here and there.
Scars/Tattoos: She has a small tattoo on her left shoulder blade of a dandelion as its seeds are blown away, the seeds farthest from the flower/weed have turned into birds
Old Injuries: none
Height/Weight: 5 foot 3 inches, 123 pounds
Health Conditions: Mentally stable, Physically healthy

Skills: Lara has some basic medical training. She was a nurse before everything started happening though she had just barely started.
Hobbies: Singing, playing sports, drawing (She contemplated becoming an artist before going to nursing school.)
Fears: Arachnophobia, Claustrophobia(Especially when with a large amount of people)
Strengths: She has a large amount of stamina and can take more pain, both emotionally, and physically than most people
Weaknesses: She cares deeply about the wellbeing of others over her own. It is both a strength and a weakness.

Personality: Lara is a generally sweet, and calm girl, but she has a hard exterior that can also be hard for most people to get past. She can be a little hard to get along with at times but her hard exterior completely disappears when she is trying to take care of someone.
Biography: Lara grew up in a normal family. She was an only child and her parents encouraged her to do whatever made her happy in life. She was a good child and rarely got in trouble. She made decent grades and graduated in the top ten percent of her class. She lived a fairly normal life, occasionally dating but she never really cared for a relationship while she was still going to school. After she graduated college she started seeing one of her fellow nurses but they hadn't quite started dating yet, though most people had considered them to be a couple. When the apocalypse started getting worse Lara lost contact with him. Before she found the group she figured out why he hadn't tried to make sure she was safe and hadn't answered her calls. Of all the people to meet in the street and have to kill she never thought it would be her lover. She had to beat his head in with a baseball bat in order to keep herself alive. Though the groups knows nothing of this experience this is why she can seem hard to get along with at times.

Extras: She found a dog in the street guarding a small child. She had chosen to help the animal and child but the child was sick already and didn't make it far. The dog, whom the child called Lazlo has followed her around ever since.

She keeps a log of everyone's allergies and noteworthy injuries so she knows what to use and what not to use each individual, medical wise.

"I love my job!" - Nick, on the prospect of facing a horde of zombies with a meat cleaver.
"Oh my god. You're enjoying this." - Someone else, in response to the above.
Name: Nick Eisenoff
Age: 28
Sexual orientation: Heterosexual

Allergies: Steak rub makes him hive up.
Scars/Tattoos: None, really.
Old Injuries: The only really relevant things are the ones that still effect how they move and function now.
Height/Weight: 5'9" and 170 pounds.
Health Conditions: In good physical condition. Hasn't found a psychiatrist to diagnose him yet, but he loves killing zombies way more than a normal person.

Skills: Melee combat and improvising weapons. He can't shoot worth a damn and has minimal survival skills, but he can massacre zombies with almost anything.
Hobbies: Pursuing ever more hilarious and creative zombie kills. Also baseball and Legos.
Fears: Spiders, dentists and heights. Shows an unhealthy lack of fear about the actual apocalypse.
Strengths: Defense and crowd control. Also good at intimidating / beating the bejeezus out of unfriendly survivors.
Weaknesses: Terrible aim, reckless and impulsive behavior, a tendency to take big risks, and generally showing very little survival instinct.

Personality: Nick is friendly, boisterous, and violently off his rocker. He wouldn't hurt a fly in normal circumstances, but he absolutely loves showering violence on the living dead - or anyone who proves themselves to be threats to his friends. He loves people and is deeply loyal to his friends, as well as having a penchant for corny jokes and laughing a lot (some times about rather ghastly subjects). Call it madness or bravery, he isn't letting the end of the world get him down - he's having as much fun with it as possible.

Biography: Nick is a man who's lost a lot. He was born and raised in a city in a fairly normal middle class childhood - he studied business in college and managed to land himself a fairly comfortable middle class job. He lived with his pregnant girlfriend Karen in a pretty nice apartment and was happy for a while.

Then the end of the world began. His parents lived in the first place the infection hit the United States - he lost contact with them immediately after the military attempted a quarantine. His brother, a marine, was KIA when the same quarantine broke. Before long the living dead were crawling through the streets and breaking into his apartment, and he was forced to mercy kill Karen after she was bitten. After that he wandered off into the streets and eventually linked up with the survivors, a significantly more unhinged man.

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

Full Name: Charles "Charlie" Yang
Korean: Yang Chi-yeol
Age: Thirty-six
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Allergies: Charlie's family grew up as foodies with huge appetites and deep pockets to match. It was at the age of six that he learned that he was allergic to shrimp. Depending on different situations, his reactions to shrimp usually ends up with Charlie getting swelled up, puffy cheeks and a matching tongue.

His reactions mainly come from the digestion of the shrimp, but there was a time in college that his face burned up as one of his roommates had microwaved shrimp flavored noodles and the flavoring in the air had caused him to break out.

Scars/Tattoos: Had one of his kidney's removed as a teenager, so he has the scars left on his body. Otherwise he was never really a man who got tattoos, regrets that he never got one though, because he believes it would have made him a bit more badass.

Height: Stands at a height of six feet, two inches (6'2")
Weight: A well oiled machine weighing in around two hundred and twenty-two pounds (222lbs)

Health Conditions: Charlie grew up with a gout, which is an attack of acute inflammatory arthritis or tender, hot, and swollen joints. They usually happen during the nights and early mornings during random times. The attack or pain usually lasts for two to four hours, which Charlie has gotten used to, but obviously the pain still hurts. There were instances where the pain had gotten to be so much for Charlie that he had to leave school during those attacks.

Skills: The skills that Charlie have vary. He is a well-off public speaker, athletically fit, but a true city-boy, never really being one to like being in nature. Charlie is a quick-study and learner though, as he had learned to adapt into nature and survive on instinct and gut-feelings. He also had joined a mixed martial arts group at the start of the incidents.

A very new skill that he picked up a year or so ago has been woodwork and carpentry though.

Hobbies: A hobby that Charlie still retains is reading. No matter where the group ends up he always has to find a book that he can pick up and bring along with him so he can have something to read. A new hobby that he had picked up though has been carpentry. He has had extra time on his hands so he learned how to build things out of wood. He can do pretty much any basic design, like chairs, fences, tables, and walls.

Fears: His biggest fear that he used to have was becoming a mute as he treasures his voice, but his biggest fear now is probably becoming a zombie himself. Charlie would rather kill himself than let that ever happen.

Strengths: His voice is a strength, and so is his charm. He has a warm and commanding aura and presence. Leadership is strong quality that he also has. Another quality that Charlie has that is a strength and weakness is that he is self-less, making sure of the positive well-being of others versus his.

Weaknesses: He isn't one for violence or guns, but he does know how to defend himself. He is a better brawler than he is a sharpshooter though if that counts, Charlie would rather choose to fight with his fists than with a gun in that sense. Both a weakness and a strength, he is pretty self-less, caring for the safety of others over his own though.

Personality: Charlie is very charming and outgoing. He is extremely warming and comforting, but it isn't only just his presence, the warmth is also in his voice. He can calm and soothe just about anyone which makes him a great orator or public speaker. At times he can be very fatherly, some people find it annoying, but he knows that all he's trying to do is look out for those around him. He is a man who would rather try to talk something out than rely on violence, but he is a realist and knows that the world is changing because times have become desperate.

Warm and welcoming is how Charlie is on the outside and most of the time, but the deep, inner parts of him are black and empty. Charlie does have a switch and he is the only person alive who knows about it. The sides to Charlie's two personalities are completely and utterly polar opposites. The kind, caring father personality that he showcases also has a darkened, demonic shadow form. The darkness came when the zombies arrived, taking away his family. Charlie's dark side has never been seen by his new friends and family, but he himself knows it is still there since the incident.

Overall Charlie is a genuine and sweet guy who is trying his best to help others live comfortably.

Biography: Charles Yang was born as Yang Chi-yeol in Seoul, South Korea. His parents, Chan-yeol and Jin-ah, were two young, rising professionals in two very different areas. His father Chan-yeol was a writer for a newspaper, New Seoul Times, while his mother was a researcher working for a medical research company called Kvanced Genetics. He grew up with his grandparents raising him as his parents were busy with their professional lives, so his childhood he grew up very traditional and well-groomed. It wasn't until the age of nine when his twin siblings were born that his parents took a step back.

His brother and sister were a blessing as with their arrival brought the presence of his parents home too. His brother was named, Jae-young and his sister, Su-ji. Being raised by his grandparents he already knew about chores and independence, so that also helped with him becoming a third parent to his siblings, making sure they were always in line and being safe. With his parents taking a step back from their careers they also decided to move the family to California in the United States. The move to the States also brought out new names, making it easier for others to get to know the children. Chi-yeol was renamed Charles, Jae-young to James, and Su-ji to Susan.

Coming to America gave Charles or Charlie as he went by the chance to become someone new. He used what his grandparents had raised him on and set out to become a positive role model for all. He was loud, involved, and very outgoing, becoming a star athlete and well-rounded student all through academia. He graduated college with a Law degree and was a public defender for a period of time before making the change to the corporate world. He was a budding professional like his parents, someone who was on the rise.

With his quick-wit and charm he made waves through successful agreements and settlements with companies and Fortune 500 groups and was on the fast track. His life seemed perfect, but the only thing that was missing was his family. Like his parents before him he had lost himself and forgot all about his family, and by the time he realized it, it was already too late.

Attacks had started happening and Charlie tried to get his family together. He was able to find and get to his sister, along with her children, but it wasn't too long before they were lost too. He found refuge in a new group and has been with them since, hoping to survive all he can with the people he now considers his family. One thing is for certain this time around, he will do whatever he can to make sure no one dies.

Strengths: His mother always said his biggest strength was also his biggest weakness. He helps when you should continue walking away and leaving people behind. Caring. Has been cooking for so long, his food no matter how bland taste better.

Weaknesses: Gives off a cold front to keep people from seeing who he really is. Isn't out to anyone save for his family and his ex-fiance. Blames himself for all the wrongs, even when it had nothing to do with him.

Personality:

Alexander from a young age has been cold to outsiders. He keeps to himself and tries to not let people in but when he does, will go to great lengths to keep them happy, healthy and fed. No one left his old apartment without at least a snack. Sometimes called Dad by his old friends, due to his overbearing manner in other's personal matters. Has always listened more then speaks and keeps tabs on people and how they interact. Not a major player in politics unless it affects those who mean something to him.

Biography:

Being a cook was always a favorite past time for Lex. Since he was younger he enjoyed helping his mother and his grandmother cook the big meals for the Major Holidays. That never changed as he got older and his relationship with his father was strained to the point of fists being thrown and Lex being kicked out of his house with no more then the clothes on his back. His mother had not taken a side but she might as well have when she didn't even call to warn him about what her oldest had planned for the 'fa***t'.

Six days in the hospital and a new scar to add to his smaller collection, he always said his birthday was cursed. He also was glad it had happened because he met the man of his dreams. Lex only being 18 and never having really dated never knew what an infatuation was like. He had no idea that love and infatuations had nothing in common. He didn't learn that until he learned his 'lover' was married and he was the side fling. Twenty and the world was as cold to him as he was to it. He moved away, got an apartment with a friend from High School and went to school at a local college and cooked at a local bar.

Fast forward past his dull moments and the news talking of the events transpiring around the globe and pinpointed in Africa. All he knew was that he had to get home as soon as possible. By the time he got there, by the time everything was up in flames all he could remember was hearing his younger sister screaming out. He didn't believe what the fire fighters told him, how he threw them aside like a demon after it's prey. How he broke down the door, ran through the flames only to come back out, his sister over his shoulder. Burn marks on the same shoulder she lay upon. Death, had not been kind. All he repeated, was that he should have never left her with those people.
