Dreams were not equivalent to being able to tell someone about someone about one of her favorite Authors. "He is a guy who wrote a bunch of books in the 20's and 30's, though he has had many authors continue his works after he died. He is most famous for creating Cthulhu and the Cthulhu Mythos. His stories were basically about a human who goes insane from learning to much about, or even seeing, one of the beings. The monsters are basically just super advanced beings that could wipe out humans if they felt like it. This style of horror is my favorite and most truthful, much better than some lame ass humans winning." Veronica had managed to get a hold of half of his works and managed to read the rest from other sources. She smiled and began to gently float just above her seat.

David panted, and cursed as Wes drop kicked him to the ground. Damn that hurt. He is adpating faster then he can harm him. He slammed his hand to the ground and raised his hand. His eyes flashed as he sent a large blast of energy at Wes's chest. The lights flicked and David panted. Damn he used to much nergy. He knew he didnt have much energy left to defend himsef. He looked up to see what hapened

From the adaptation of the inside of his body, Wes' skin shifted again to accommodate for the inside of his body. But since he got loose, he body was working to get him out of the groggy condition when he was blasted but his body didn't have time to shift fast enough to defend against to huge blast as he was blown back, his body was shifting during the attack, getting him back into rock but then shifted into a metal since the rock skin was not enough. Wes slammed into the wall, now with an all metal body as the smoke was fuming from his body. Wes stood there for a moment, seemingly ready to keep going. He spat up a little blood and looked down. "Damn...I took more damage than I thought....he packs a punch but if this keeps up, one of us will die...I've never been pushed this much. I think it's safer if I just give up....for both of our sake....you got my respect man..." Wes smiled as he fell to his knees and then landed on the ground face first. "I need to gain better control and reaction time. to have to adapt to multiple things so quickly...I see it puts a lot of strain on my body....and it hurts...I need time for my body to adapt to the pain and heal me. I'll give this win to you."

Wes waited for the guard to issue David the winner.

Damien shook his head. "Hehe, naw. Nothing like that. I moved about... a lot. Didn't really have time for that kind of stuff all too often."

Veronica shrugged. "Oh, well. Books are really cool though, if we ever end up in my..." A frown now played across her face. She just remembered that she left in the middle of some issues and disappeared out of now where.

Damien noticed something was up. Does he dare start digging again? Eh, fuck it. "All right, what's up with you?"

What did she have to hide? May as well tell Damien...not like it mattered anyway. "You know how I had people I protected before...here? Well I haven't been with them for a few weeks now, most of them found safer places to thrive. But I was in the middle of some...issues. Nothing serious, just connections that I worked with, and I then just drop off out of nowhere. Just remembered them and am wondering how they are getting on." Damien may have gotten to a serious issue with Jen from some digging, but if he wanted something like THAT... he was digging in the wrong place.

Damien nodded. "Yeah, I get you. I think... I'm sorry, I'm genuinely clueless about all of this kinda stuff, I gotta seem like some sorta moron to you guys." Damien admitted. Guess the streets never caught him the way it had Jen and Veronica. Reality sure was tough. In here, it was like a bad movie, or a dream where you can't quite work out whether it's a nightmare or not yet.

Damien thinking he was too intrusive with his questioning was entertaining to Veronica. "You aren't that dumb...for a guy who doesn't read." Veronica chuckled.

Damien rolled his eyes. "Oh ha ha ha. Funny..." Damien joked along. "My bad, Q." He retorted playfully. "Guess I just don't have good street smarts. It was always fun, run, or a brawl from time to time for me. So I am that dumb in that respect."

This was a great opportunity to learn some more about the other friendly protective person in the group. "Have you ever stolen from someone? And if so, what is the biggest thing?" This kind of banter may seem crazy to the 'normal' people of the world, but none of them were 'normal'.

Huh, weird question. "Well, I used to take neon signs and monitors all the time. Chucked out ones of course, no one wanted them, so I picked them up. It's not really stealing unless you're asking a cop I guess. Uhm... let's see. I stole a chocolate bar on a dare once. That was pretty scary." Damien answered, joking a little about the last bit. That chocolate bar tasted like shit.

Damien could have literally slapped himself. "Damien.. You... Dick...head" Damien rolled with it. "Really? A whole grill!? Was the barbeque after good?" Even though he had to recover like that, Damien was still genuinely surprised. A grill?

The feat was impressive, she thought so anyway. "Yeah, a WHOLE grill. The story is even better because I stole it during a party. And the barbecue was fantastic, one of the better tasting foods I have had in my life." The story would take some time to tell properly, so she gave him a chance to opt out.

To someone else, this probably seemed like a ridiculous story, but this fascinated Damien, and he wouldn't put the possibility past anyone. He looked like a school kid. "How did you get away without getting caught?" He asked, probably the biggest question.

Now for story time. Veronica leaned in, took a breath and began. "So it started when I was wondering around and saw smoke coming from a backyard and saw a sign that said '4th of July party, ALL WELCOME'. So I go in and see a bunch of people having fun, there was kids running around and a pool and at least 25 people. I thought about grabbing some of the food and going back with some quality food, when a thought occurred. Why just take the food? Why not the grill? So with a plan starting to formulate, I went around and talked to some people. I was liking most of them when one was a total asshole. This guy was acting super superior and saying I looked and smelled awful (witch was true but still.). So for a while I would just go over and scoot the grill towards the open gate. It got to the point where some people were starting to ask questions. All I needed at this point was a big distraction, such as a kid falling in the pool and freaking out. As luck would have it, just such an event occurred! So I grabbed some packages of meat, closed the grill, and took off pushing it. I hid it, came back and told them that someone stole the grill and ran. The ones that went chased off in the wrong direction; it was glorious. Long story, I know, but I am proud of such an achievement." There was a proud look on her face as she smiled and looked off into the middle distance.

"All I've ever stolen was customers hearts," She said, half jokingly.

"Ever 'stole' a virginity?" Veronica said jokingly back. Was this too far? Nah.
