It Begins

Gateon Port

Jen was getting impatient.

It had been about two weeks since she came to Gateon port. Two weeks too long. She was sick of the smell of drunk sailors. And she was getting more and more certain that this was one of those rare cases where Fateen was wrong. No one here looked even close to being helpful, and how were they supposed to know who, anyways? Maybe she should just go back to Pyrite Town. She sure wanted to. The Krabby Club gave her a headache and it was her main source of money in Gateon.

Which is why she wasn't in that place. No, she traded the smell of drunk sailors for seawater. Which wasn't much better. She kicked violently at a rock (Sehkmet chased it), let out a huff. Nothing looked different. Same places, same people, same fights. Same warm sun and same cracked tiles. The only reason she hadn't just ditched was because she heard a large ship would be coming with new people. She wondered if maybe they were the ones she was looking for. Either way she'd be leaving today. Jen sighed and took a seat on a bench, watching people intently. Her eyes twitched every now and then.

Maybe too intently. It was kinda weird.

"WHERE. ARE. YOU." She boomed, her voice echoed.

Unknown to Jen and many others, there was an undercover Peon in Gateon Port. She took advantage of the loud crowds in the Krabby Club and sent a message on her PDA:
Hey, boss? Is...Are you sure about this? It seems kind of early..

Gateon Port. Why of all places did a place, with a far too fishy smell, have to be where the only mechanical parts shop have to be? I mean it was fairly convenient, but still a hassel to get to. But travel in Orre was tough anyways, seeing as everything was pretty spread out.

Anthony Rosenthal, a teen tall for his age came out of the parts shop. Floating next to him for one reason or another was Optimus his Metang, which did creep some people out. Kyubey, his Sylveon was walking next to him as well. He decided that they did need some time to stretch and such. In his hands he held a box full of parts for a few new precautionary snag machines. He decided to put it in his black bag (purse). He did decide to allow Lenka and Flutter out as well.

Not much to do but watch his Pokemon play around a bit. He did pace a bit, his heels clicking against the cement. Though, got bored of that quickly and sat down on the stairs. The Pokemon suddenly got startled as well as him by Jen's sudden yelling. They all looked at the girl ciriously, all unaware of the peons watching them.

Sitting across from the parts shop, at one of the outside tables at a local cafe, was a figure that most certainly didn't look like he belonged in a port. Dressed all in white, with not hair out of place, was Firaniel, one of Cipher's admins. Despite the fact that it may have been a good idea, he didn't bother with any sort of disguise. His elegant eyebrows would have given him away anyway.

Curled up in his lap was the warm weight of Tsun, his Vulpix. Part of the reason he hadn't bothered to evolve her was because he would miss this. He was also worried that Tsun would forget she was evolved and try anyway. He didn't like the idea of a Ninetails trying to be a lap Pokemon. His other Pokemon, Oracle the Lucario, and shadow Leafeon were in their Pokeballs. He didn't want to draw too much attention to himself.

As he took a sip of his tea, his PDA went off. One of the peons under his command was questioning their mission. Firaniel wasn't the type to be angered by such things. As part of Cipher, they had the right to question things they didn't agree with. "Of course darling. The message said. "The people need to know we're back." He could practically see the woman blushing when she read the word darling. The peons needed to think he cared after all, that's why he always made their messages a little more personal.

The peon and her partner were still a little reluctant, but the mission had to start. Somebody came out of the shop holding the box of parts they were after. The two peons sent out their Pokemon. A Golbat and a Sneasel. The jumped out of their hiding place and attacked. "Cipher wants those parts." One of them said as they had planned.

That was Firaniel's cue. He would pretend to be one of the good guys and save this other person from the peons. They had the entire thing planned out perfectly. Firaniel lifted Tsun off his lap and got up. "Just like we planned darling. Make it look real but don't hurt those other Pokemon."

Tsun gave a reply, showing she understood and the two of the ran across the street to 'help'. "Tsun, Fire Spin!" Firaniel ordered. The fire attack swirled around Golbat and Sneasel and the two Pokemon pretended to be hurt. One of the peons swore and they both returned their Pokemon. "You may have won this battle, but you won't win the war." The female peon said before both of them fled. The fire attack was showy and had drawn a lot of attention to the area.

Tsun rubbed herself affectionately against Firaniel's leg and the admin reached down to pet her. "Are you alright?" He asked the person who had just happened to come out of the shop.

Anthony blinked twice, his inner bounty hunter kicked in. Suspicion flared into his eyes. It seemed so fake the fact that a random bunch of goons would come out and one random person came and "saved" him. Despite a Metang floating next to him and a Sylveon next to his right leg. Anyone with common sense could tell that someone with a Metang should have some decent exprience. Albeit, chilvery was always a nice touch. At first though, he did have to admit he was taken aback by the sudden appearance of everyone.

He scowled a bit, "I'm perfectly fine." He said returning his two Pokemon one by one. He really didn't like the vibes he was getting from this blonde dude. To boot those were Cipher peons. He'd have to alter Michael right away. They were back, looks like their precautions to make Snag Machines wouldn't be all for naught.

"You didn't need to step in, I'm perfectly able to handle simple people like them." He said putting the box into his bag/purse. His words oozing with agitation and a hint of venom. His scooter was parked and waiting, he had to get to HQ fast. Though, he awaited to hear the man's responses.

Shawn smiled pleasantly as the waitress at the Krabby club handed him his drink and two poke-snacks and he handed her a small pile of Pokedollars in return. "Thank you very much." He said as she turned around and headed behind the bar. He looked down at Blaze and Croconaw and handed them each a Poke-snack. "I should really cute back on the Poke-snacks for you two." He said in a mock serious voice and the two Pokemon looked up at him in alarm. Shawn raised his hands quickly and laughed. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding!" He said with a smile as the small flames on Blaze's back vanished and Croconaw stopped giving him it's death glare.

Shawn knew that he had two very special Pokemon and he wouldn't trade anything in the world for them. They had been his friends for a very long time now. They were strong, intelligent and despite all appearances they both had a good sense of humor. Shawn smiled as he opened his lemonade and gulped it down and looked down at his Pokemon as they finished up their food as well. He was considering ordering his Pokemon another Poke-snack when he see a flash of fire pass by a window outside the front of the Krabby Club. He narrowed his eyes slightly for a moment as he saw what appeared to be two Cipher Peons battling it out with a man who was dressed in all white. Whoever it was had a Vulpix and it looked like the Vulpix could hold it's own as it hit a Golbat and Sneasel with a firespin attack that looked like it had wounded them.

"Impressive firepower." Shawn muttered. Blaze looked up at him with narrowed eyes and Shawn smiled. "Don't worry, I'm sure it's not nearly as strong as you." He said with a laugh. "Let's go see what's happening out there."

As Shawn stepped through the door of the Krabby Club, he saw the two Peons running away and the man in white speaking to someone else. "Everyone alright out here?" He asked carefully as he approached the two of them with Blaze and Croconaw standing to his left.

Alorena stood on the pier to the port. She considered leaving, this place had nothing to offer her or her pokemon. Lys, who was sitting on the rail next to her, mewed. The espeon knew how she felt. Kuishi and Zaga remained safely within their pokeballs. Not that much harm would come to either. Kuishi was a bit... frightening. To those that didn't know her, that is. Zaga was still so young. He would be swept away in a mild breeze.

This place was so different compared to the other continents she had visited and a far cry from Snowbelle. She had spent so much time, energy, and not to mention, money on learning how to care for her pokemon. She remembered fondly the first moments she met all three. It had been thirteen years. Thirteen hard, desperate, worthy years. Now it was time for her final journey. After all, you can't travel your whole life. Living the rest of her life raising pokemon? What better could she ask for?

It was at that moment, Alorena was pulled out of her thoughts by someone shouting. Lys also jumped, startled. They both turned, eyes glaring, to look at the person arrogant enough to simply shout in a crowded area.

It was that girl. Alorena had seen her around before. Seemed to be waiting for someone. Not that she cared, people were all the same. They would turn on each other if the price was right.
She sighed. Time to get some information on what she was here for.

Walking down the road, Alorena could see a skirmish across the way. Unfortunately, it was right in front of the store she wanted to go into. They walked closer, no rush. Could be a con. Lys trotted at her feet, focused on the three humans. Two people were ganging up on some kid. If there was anything she didn't like more than people, it was an unfair fight. She picked up her pace, still not in too much of a hurry, but Lys started to go much faster.

It hadn't taken long for a man in white to stand to help. He seemed far too calm about the situation for Alorena's taste. Lys was at just the right angle to see the twos Pokemon not get hit, but her trainer saw nothing.
It was over just as she stepped up onto the sidewalk. She watched the goons runs off.

Alorena looked at the victim and the suspicious man with equal disapproval.
"Please move, you are in my way."
