A Returning Threat
Many years have passed since the events of Gale of Darkness. Wild Pokémon have become more numerous, no signs of Snagem or Cipher have been seen, and things seem more or less at peace.
Or so it seems.
Unable to let go of his thirst for revenge and his loyalty to Cipher, Ardos, Greevil's son, swore to revive Cipher. Slowly but surely, he began to do just that. Though still small in numbers, the group continued to work on their plans under the radar, with each passing day growing larger in numbers. After successfully stealing the Snag machine-their first big impact in Orre during the past 5 years-they began to make to copies of it; every now and then, reports of stolen Pokémon are made. Despite this, no signs of Shadow Pokémon have yet been confirmed...but with Ardos working away at deciphering the Ein files, that may very well change soon.
In other words, Cipher's making a comeback, and that's going to spell out trouble for the rest of us.
Pokemon HQ Lab - "The Orre Region's top research lab that studies Pokémon comprehensively." -Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness, Map
Known in Orre as home to some of the best researchers across the region, Orre's second savior against Cipher, (Michael), as well as a great sim-training facility.
Kaminko's House - "The peculiar manor that is home to the eccentric scientist Dr. Kaminko." -Pokémon Gale of Darkness, Map.
Home to a scientist who was once known as eccentric and more recently known as senile. The manor is, to put it lightly, not somewhere you want to end up alone if you're lost.
Gateon Port - "A lively seaport with active trade. Loitering sailors are a common sight." -Pokémon Gale of Darkness, Map
Gateon port is easily on of the busiest cities in Orre as of recent years; along with being a trade center, the city is home to many tourist attractions, namely; The Krabby Club, a seaside bar/restaurant with many live performances, The Lighthouse, the very top of it being a place where many trainers looking for battles meet up, and the Robo Kyogre, the 'ship' first used by Michael to access Citadark Isle, now used by the brave few on tours of the area, now abandoned by Cipher.
It is also where many sailors meet up and newcomers arrive to Orre, many of said newcomers having traveled to attend Orre's Trainer School, originally a small part of the PRE Gym in Phenac.
Other notable things in town include the only herb shop in Orre, a machine parts shop, and your standard Pokémon center and mart.
"A lush, green town that is peacefully populated by old former ace trainers." -Pokémon Colosseum, Map
Agate Village - A town bursting with flora in the otherwise barren landscape of Orre, is best known as a town of retired trainers, one of the most notable being Eagun, who has recently passed away. Many young trainers come here to seek the wisdom of retired trainers or to visit relatives, however hardly any actually live there. Its most noticeable landmark is probably the Relic Stone, built in honour of Celebi, that was primarily used to purify Shadow Pokémon before the chamber in the Pokémon HQ lab was built.
Other noticeable places include: The Pokémon Daycare, Relic Forest, The Move Tutor's place, a newly built library (with some books featured there written by Eagun), as well as your standard Pokémon center and mart.
"A rough and dirty town full of thugs and scoundrels. It is said to be home to sinister Pokémon." -Pokémon Colosseum, Map
Pyrite Town - An old, beat-up looking town, with a rather shady history. Built into a carved-in canyon, Pyrite town was, long ago, a mining town that was the twin town to The Under, which is now buried after an incident where Cipher took over. After the economy began to fall, many of the folks resorted to illegal activities in order to support themselves. It helped that the police force isn't what you'd call effective. This made it easy for Cipher to start distributing Shadow Pokémon amongst the citizens, back in the day, as things fly under the radar easily. Easily the town with the highest crime rate, though it's often slightly exaggerated, especially in Phenac City. In fact, though the amount of criminals is astounding, most of them aren't all that bad, as the majority didn't have too much of a choice; that's not to say they're folks you should trust that quickly, if at all.
Other than being known as the town with the highest crime rate, it's home to the ONBS, a shiny new building easily distinguishable from Pyrite Town's rusty structures, and Fateen's fortune telling house, known to be eerily accurate. It was also home to Duking, who was the firs to discover wild Pokémon again in Orre.
Some more noticeable landmarks include: Pyrite Colosseum, The Duel Square, a police station, a hotel, and a large windmill that powers much of the electricity in Pyrite.
The Oasis Poké Spot - Found nearby Pyrite town. One of the original three Duking had found, it is a small bit of land surround by water, with many plants growing nearby. Though formerly home to only Hoppip, Phanpy, and Surskit, it now has a larger variety of Pokémon. Unlike in the older days, where you'd have to lure Pokémon in order for them to come out, it is possible to search for them if one has the patience. However, though it's more expensive, it is still easier to lure them out with Pokésnacks. Another option, unique to the Oasis Pokéspot, is to try to fish for the aquatic Pokémon.

Fishing-only Pokémon:
Cave Pokéspot - Nearby Mt. Battle. A damp and dark cave, originally discovered by Duking. Once solely the home to Zubat, Aron, and Wooper, it is now teeming with Pokémon-or at least, as close to teeming with Pokémon as it can get in Orre. Unlike in the older days, where you'd have to lure Pokémon in order for them to come out, it is possible to search for them if one has the patience. However, though it's more expensive, it is still easier to lure them out with Pokésnacks.

1. My word is law. Even so, please tell me if there's anything you don't agree with and I'll see what I can do. It's not a complete dictatorship here.
2. No god-moding, obviously.
3. Communication! Have an idea? Tell us. Need to leave for a while? Tell us. This is a group effort and your opinions matter.
4. OOC is drama free. We're all friends here and if something happens try to sort it out in PMs or contact me.
5. Keep this rated T please. Save your guts and smut for somewhere else. Want to RP that stuff privately? Go ahead, no problem. Just don't put it here.
6. This is casual. Not three. Two paragraphs minimum, please. Acceptable grammar. One liners absolutely not allowed.
7. Please don't leave the RP within a week of joining. If something comes up let us know. But I want this RP to live and be a bit of a commitment. A post per week is all I'm asking. More than that is better, but a post per week.

Unlike OCs, canon characters do not need to have anything filled out other than a small (or large, depending on how detailed you want it to be,) bit of writing dedicated to history, so that we know what's been going on with them for the past seven years, and if your character isn't one with much defined personality, please write one up as well.

Some key differences:
-Many more wild Pokémon
-The Pre Gym is now part of a Colosseum.
- The trainer's school has been rebuilt in Gateon port.
-Michael has taken place as head of the HQ lab.
-And more minor changes, which will be added/revealed through-out the roleplay.
Cool, so how do I join?
All you have to do is create an OC and wait for approval. Then you can go on right ahead!
What's the format you roleplay in?
Two paragraphs minimum, third person, past tense.
Can we have legendaries? How about shinies?
Depends on the scenario. You'll have to ask me before hand, as the answer to that can vary. As a general rule, I'm more willing to give legendaries to 'villains', as it makes it more challenging for the 'heroes'. However, a simply peon probably isn't going to be walking around with Arceus trotting behind him, if you know what I mean. Shinies are allowed. BUT only one per all of your characters MAX. Meaning only one of your three can have a shiny and that one character can only have one. Shinies are VERY rare in Orre.
Do you have a leveling system?
No; though we do mention levels in the character sheets, we don't mention them in roleplay. We go by this basic logic; Pokémon with more experience battling in roleplay will get stronger. Also, like the concept used in Pokémon amie; the better you treat your Pokémon, the more they'll go that extra mile for their trainer. Just be reasonable and it'll be okay.
And movesets?
As long as it's something your Pokemon could learn, I don't care. Just try to limit it to about 6 or 7 different moves per battle.
What's the highest level I can make my Pokémon at the beginning?
If your trainer is a rookie they shouldn't have anything over level 5, 10 tops. Anything over should be disobedient. But if they're experienced the maximum is 45, 50 if we're really pushing it. It can increase during roleplay but it won't be mentioned.
How many character can I have?
Three maximum unless I make an exception. This can be 3 canons, 3 OCs, 2 canons and 1 OC, or 1 canons and 2 OCs.
Any age restrictions to the characters?
No age limit! All registered trainers have to be 10 or older. But that's it.
How about to the Pokémon?
No restrictions to Pokémon! Except for the ones you can catch in the wild. There'll be a list of locations of where they can be found in wild and which pokemon in there. But any you have before the RP or any Shadow Pokemon you snag from Cipher (or non-shadow if you wanna roll that way) doesn't matter. Any region.
