[Major Ursa]

Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: HUMANS and MONSTERS.
One day, war broke out between the two races.
After a long battle, the humans were victorious. Sshhh...not just yet.

"Welcome to this Lost Tale, where the story begins before the events of Undertale, more specifically, just before the war that the humans win, the war that would force monsters underground...and, a little bit into that war.

As far as you know, monster kind and human kind, though not on the best terms all of the time, have accepted each other's existence. There are even some small towns with humans and monsters coexisting in true harmony."

Not all is lost, despite what happened, somethings have been saved...now, what was your name again?

I have a few questions.
I know this takes place before the monsters were forced Underground, but when is this exactly? (if Undertale and Overtale are 201X, then would LostTale be 17XX? 18XX? What would human technology include?
Also, would Chara be alive and around during this RP? Or would Asriel and Chara not be born yet?

I think technology would be limited to medieval era, as I assume it is when humans fought monsters and forced them underground, with evidence being the pictures in the opening slideshow

As for Chara and Asriel I think that they came in a couple hundred years after the monsters were sealed. Where Asgore and Toriel wear clothes that look medieval-ish, while Asriel wears clothes that look more modern.

Even so, I think we should try and steer away from including the main Undertale characters, though we could mention or reference Asgore and Toriel since theyre the king & queen of monsters :)

@Guardian Angel HarukiI think wxps350 has pretty much got it. Medieval-ish, so 15th-16th century? There will be a lot more swordsmanship, magic, alchemy use, early medicines.

@wxps350Not most of the main Undertale character, but some are possible to RP, they may even have different names at this point in time, but it does need to go through me first. Even for Gaster, I don't plan to have them show up much in the RP. I imagine Gerson or Grillby as possible veterans of the war, but war comes later...but characters like Alphys, Undyne, Onionsan are obviously quite young and wouldn't have existed at this point in time.

Name: Dozer

Appearance: He has a muscular human body, though the obvious differentiate from humans is that he has the head of a brown bull. He usually wears normal peasant clothes and shin-high boots. Usually he has one or two injuries from time to time to show his "warriorhood", as he calls it, though most of his friends see it as him being reckless. His eyes are white with no pupils, and he has a golden ring of power in his nose.

Personality: He. Can. Fight. He's always getting into tavern brawls with monsters and humans alike, accepting all foes regardless of their size or strength. Even when he's spitting out teeth he seeths with unrelenting determination. Recently, however, he's beginning to doubt himself because of how his violent nature distances him from his friends, though knows his family will always accept him.

He's quick to challenge anybody, and takes almost anything as a challenge.

Bio: Dozer and nobody else in his family have any idea where they came from, whether it was a twisted magical experiment to turn a human into a monster, or if it was a forbidden love between a lonely farmer and a voluptuous cow, or what. What he does know is that he has a lineage to carry on just as his father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, great great great great great great great great great great... Well, you get the idea, did as early as they could remember. He became a strong fighter as soon as he was in school, beating up rocks and kids. By the time he was a young adult he was a famous name throughout taverns supporting saturday-night brawling. Everybody loved his fighting spirit and tenacity, though it's slowly becoming his downfall. When he boosted up to bigger opponents, his passion became beatdown after beatdown, with a few single victories giving him determination. But though he never gave up on himself, his friends did. Apothecaries soon tired of having to stitch his bones back together on a daily basis, and people who respected his strength fled once he began losing. He still remains strong, though doubts if he can keep going.

Relations: Almost every tavern in the land knows his name, though only the ones he started out in still acknowledge his existence. However his family supports him all the way.

Skill: He is proficient in hand to hand combat, athletic prowess, and is brimming with a dwindling level of tenacity. Tenacity is a virtue much like determination, though it is entirely focused on combat. It allows him to shrug off physical pain until his body is physically pushed to it's limit, though when it's effects wear off, he'll experience all the pain he would've felt during the fight.

He carries a technique passed through the men of his family for generations; the Bull's charge. He begins running in place to rev up his testosterone, before making a powerful charge straight at his opponent. Unforunately, the Bull's charge is a bit inaccurate, though anything he does ram into will be a critical KO.

Weapon: Nothin' but his fists and his horns

Armour: Armour is for sissies. REAL monsters fight in nothin' but the clothes on their back

Magic: None

Name: Captain Ashford of the Royal Guard

Appearance: Tall at 7'2", muscular, but not as muscular as other monsters probably are, blue skin, long thin black hair, yellow eyes with slit pupils, two horns on his head. Has two fangs pointing upwards out of his mouth. Looks very intimidating and his face appears to be stoic (Just like any typical Blue Oni monster). Is seen with an umbrella more often than not.

Personality: Stoic and patient.

Bio: Ashford, a monster who aspired to become part of the Royal Guard since he was very young, trained in martial arts for years. During his training away from others, he was taught the values of discipline, patience, and indomitable spirit. He didn't come back to his home until many years later, when he had completed his training, and after proving himself to Asgore, he achieved his dream of being part of the Royal Guard. Eventually, when the old Captain died, he was immediately given the position of Captain. During his time back with people and in the Royal Guard, he fell in love with someone and together they became a family with the addition of a daughter.

Relations:

-A daughter, Lily, who is only 12.
-His wife who was killed while his daughter was still young.
-Friends with other members of the Royal Guard, and friends with the King and Queen of Monsters.

Skill: Martial Arts. Negotiation. Assessing what actions a situation calls for in order to achieve the best results (meaning making sure there are little to no casualties in regards' to people's well being).

Weapon: Prefers to use his fists or his bo-staff/Umbrella, but will use a spear only if he has to.

Armor: More often than not, he wears a white martial arts uniform with a black belt, or monk's garbs. He only wears his Royal Guard Armor only if necessary.

Magic:
-Quick self-recovering magic
-Earth Magic to make the rocks and stones beneath his feet help him fight
-Orange Attacks for those who are just standing still

Name: Bernadette Gawain

Appearance:

Personality: Intelligent, kind, ditzy, a quiet kind of determined.

Bio: Bernadette was once just a normal girl, but while playing with her friends, she accidentally discovered her innate ability to use magic. A sage named Gavin approached her family days later, and offered to teach Bernadette how to use her magic, and to become a sage, and in return, he would heal her younger brother of his illness. The family accepted and Bernadette went with Gavin to learn. She studied and learned for twelve years, and she is now a proficient healer and messenger, but there is still so much for her to learn.

Relations:

-Her younger brother, Lance, lives with her parents in a different town.
-Gavin, her teacher in the study of magic. He is old now, and has taught her everything he knows. She takes care of him now.
-Friendly acquaintance to everyone (whether they may be monster or human) in the town. Well known for her healing and teaching others.

Skill: Very good at research, good at solving puzzles and riddles, and she can perceive things that others might not be able to (like spirits or camouflaged creatures). She can also give very good advice.

Weapon: None, just a spell book and a small knife (not good for stabbing and hurting others, just for cutting rope and other things like that).

Armor: Mage's robes and scarf

Magic:
-Determination
-Any spell she can cast from a spell book
-Generic Healing and Communication magic that she can cast without a spell book.

Alright, I didn't know I'd be lying to you all. Wing Ding is going to be pushing in some of the major plot. So, I put the CS up for you guise's approval as well.

Name: Wing Dings of Gaster

Appearance:

Yes, I used Gaster!Papyrus for the pic. So sue me, so sue me hard.
Personality: Often seen as the quiet and cold court adviser, alchemist, and interpreter to King Asgore, but he also a healer and instructor to monsters alongside the new Queen. When talking privately with friends or colleagues, even his apprentice, he can get quite animate, enthused about detailing his various interests and researches. Recently, he has been concerned about the new sicknesses...

Bio: Originally conjured through necromancy, the first long years of his existence was hell. His consciousness depended on the magic that ran through his bones, animating him. To be conjured, and dispelled, and conjured, and dispelled—pulled in and out of existence and consciousness all at once, many times. After a number of years, the magic found purchase in him, persisting and resisting the call of the necromancer, he was free. Free, he found there were so many others like himself, and over time they would come to call themselves the Gaster. For a long time, the humans sought to destroy them, but they happily found their place as a new breed of monster, and were welcomed into the monster kingdoms like they truly belonged. The Gaster would more commonly become known as the skeleton kind, though some still kept the name in memory of their origins.

That was a handful of centuries ago; necromancy has since been abolished after another treaty with the humans. Though, somewhere he felt it was a measure to prevent the growth of the skeleton population.

Now, there is still a hesitance towards dealing with human mages, with humans for that matter. For the most part, the humans have kept their distance from monster kind, a respectable distance. It was actually the situations in which both races attempted to coexist that created problems. Unnatural coupling between monster and humans left humans with ‘magic sickness’, and monsters with their own ‘matter sickness’. Neither can be fully recovered from. Magic sickness in dangerous levels could lead to a human literally exploding into a gorey mess, and matter sickness in the same levels cause the disruption and drainage of magic in rather dramatic levels. None would come to live after a strong bout.

Tasked with researching the sicknesses to its full extent, Wing Dings or his apprentice are often found in the royal infirmary, treating patience with these ailments.

Relations: Sans – his apprentice, a youngster of his kind. The youth aims to be replace him entirely in the king of the monster's court, and Wing Dings can't help but admire that ambitious behavior. The stout skeleton has also started calling him 'Dings', for some odd reason.

Skill: Master Alchemist, Apothecarist, Physician. Skilled in languages and magic, Wing Dings saw fit to combine the two in a current project of his, revolving around creating a magic based language he proudly plans to name after himself...some more extensive research has him enlisting help from other scholars.

Weapon: None

Armour: None

Magic: Blue Magic. Conjuration of bone (attacks), Full Gaster Dragons
