@WhitewindPutting romance back into Necromancer I see. ^_^
Dislikes science fiction.
Speaking of which, BEHOLD!Name: Skye Ryder
Alias: Captain Hyperdrive
Nickname(s): None that she knows of. Seriously, with a name like Skye Ryder, do you really think she needs one?
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Powers: Skye has been enhanced to peak physical condition through the use of advanced alien technology (think Captain America), able to move faster, hit harder, and tank more damage then even the most physically capable regular humans. She's also able to perceive incredibly fast moving objects with near-perfect clarity, and her reaction speed and coordination are just as proficient.
Skills/Abilities: As a certified and trained stunt performer, Skye is proficient in martial arts and gymnastic maneuvers, and she is a highly skilled motorcyclist and driver. She's also a skilled engineer and a talented performance artist, able to baffle enemies and amaze onlookers with her antics both in and out of costume.
Equipment: Besides her costume, her only other piece of equipment is the Hypercomet, a hoverjet bike of alien origin. Sleek and fast, the white and purple striped Hypercomet performs similarly to your standard high-end motorcycle, yet is able to move safely over even the roughest and most dangerous surfaces with ease thanks to its hovering technology, and it is able to carry out very basic commands relayed to it by the suit, such as returning to her side. It has been capable of extended flight in the past, but that system is nonfunctional and Skye hasn't figured out how to get it working again. She's also modified the Hypercomet with some pyrotechnics and other such gadgets, and while she has some practical equipment like a grapple hook and smoke canisters, most of the equipment she brings into the fight is more for aesthetics then anything else. She's still a performance artist, after all.
Appearance:

Skye is considerably tall for her age, standing a touch over six feet tall, and has a lithe and shapely form well-suited for acrobatics. Her large, expressive eyes are an almost unnatural shade of minty green, and her long light brown seems to refuse any attempt at styling other then "long, wild, and messy". Out of costume, she tends to dress casually but unconventionally, often wearing jackets, gloves, and boots out of habit. Her only wardrobe rule seems to be substance over style, and she prefers wearing things that she can move around in as opposed to whatever looks good. She also wears glasses to correct her nearsightedness, and while she has been injured in her line of work more times then she can count, her glasses have never been so much as scratched.
Costume: Her superhero costume is a modified variant of another superhero's armor. The suit itself is made largely from a synthetic polymer of alien origin, reinforced with hard leather protective gear made from good old human materials. The polymer, which lets Skye maneuver freely while still offering decent protection against bullets and blades, is not any stronger then most human armors, but it is a great deal smarter. When fully assembled, the polymer in the Hypderdrive armor is able to reflexively tense and harden to protect vital organs from harm, and it has even demonstrated limited self-repairing abilities. The suit is also hermetically sealed and protected from various environmental dangers, such as extreme temperatures and dangerous chemicals in the air. Her gauntlets contain a basic control pad that links up with the Hypercomet, and her helmet allows her to swap between thermal and regular vision if necessary. Besides some extra protective gear to make her outfit look more conventionally human, Skye has altered the original costume by swapping out the red and yellow coloring for purple, removing the thick neck-guard in favor of a more open collar with a purple scarf to match, and redesigning the helmet, giving it a purple downward-facing arrowhead design on the forehead, purple earpieces on the sides, and a pure black visor over her entire face with purple lights to simulate her eyes.
Personality: Skye is the kind of person who makes you want to take a nap after meeting her. Spontaneous and full of energy, Skye has always been something of an adrenaline junkie, always looking for new, exciting, and dangerous ways to do things and never backing down from a challenge, no matter how menacing the challenge seemed to be. She also has a fondness for flamboyancy and dramatics, and while some are irritated by her behavior, most people tend to make friends with her easily, and if there's anything she loves as much as pulling off a complex and difficult stunt just to prove she can do it, it's making a new friend. More often then not though her thirst for action can lead to her being reckless and impulsive, to the detriment of herself and others. Ultimately though, she's really a selfless person, and while she enjoys the attention she gets, Skye enjoys being able to make someone else's day brighter through her antics.
Her flair for dramatics carries over to her Captain Hyperspace persona as well, whom she portrays as a sci-fi action hero and a paragon for justice, complete with big dramatic statements about justice and liberty and more then a few puns and one-liners. Her vanity and recklessness sometimes leaks over to her Captain Hyperspace persona, but in the end Skye will go to any lengths and take any risk to do the right thing.
History: Mysteriously left at the doorstep of Saint Lulu's Orphanage in Archer City, Skye was an unusual child to say the least. Inherently brilliant but desperate for attention, Skye infamous at Saint Lulu's for attempting a series of dangerous stunts that often left her and others hospitalized, irritating her caretakers but winning over a few friends in the process. Her antics alienated any potential adoptive family, however, and as she got older and saw her friends move away while she stayed at the orphanage, she became increasingly upset and detached from others. By the time she was thirteen, Skye had become a lovable scamp of a problem child, a delinquent that regularly hung out with the punks and skaters from the Wrecks who encouraged her thrill-seeking behavior.
One day, Skye and her punk friends found a motorcycle parked nearby with the keys left in. Encouraged by her punk friends, Skye stole the bike and went on a joyride through the city, narrowly avoiding the police and making several impressively suicidal jumps and extreme maneuvers along the way. She was eventually caught by one of the Infinite Knights on their day off, and she and the bike were hand-delivered back to the original owner. The motorcycle's owner turned out to be Reb Ryder, a famous stuntman and daredevil, who was so impressed with her handling of the bike that he offered to mentor her in the art of being a stunt professional.
Skye's early forays into the world of daredevil stunt work landed her in the hospital more times then she could remember, but with a lot of practice and a little luck, she managed to get a handle on her new profession and became one of the youngest rising stars in the stuntman business. Going from small time shows to bit parts in cheesy action movies, Skye had a fun and exciting life ahead of her, and after her mentor and father figure Reb officially adopted her when she was sixteen, Skye Ryder thought her life couldn't get much better then this. However, during a routine performance, Skye's career was cut tragically short when a horrible accident involving an elephant, a wine bottle, and a bunch of guys dressed like Roman legionnaires left her paralyzed from the waist down. And that would have been the end of her story...or so you would think.
Many light-years away from Skye and the planet Earth, the morally bankrupt alien scientist and aspiring super-villain Dr. N Sain had received some truly horrifying news. While N. Sain was away on vacation, his archenemy, the legendary Commander Comet, had been run over by a space bus in his absence. Robbed of the chance to ever face his greatest enemy and defeat him once and for all, N. Sain would have gone mad with fury and grief over the Commander's death had he not been mad already. He spent many days in a depressed stew, occasionally torturing the bus driver that ran Comet over, before N. Sain got a brilliant idea. He would create a rival just like Commander Comet and quickly defeat them, and once that was done he could truly move on to conquering the universe.
N. Sain scoured the galaxy for suitable candidates until he found a human that shared Commander Comet's insatiable thirst for danger and excitement as well as his inherent goody two-shoes nature. That human, of course, was the recently crippled Skye Ryder. Abducting her to his space ship/laboratory/bachelor pad, he began using his alien technology to repair her body and tweak her DNA so that she could use the Commander's old gear without it killing her. The doctor did his job a little too well, however, and accidentally heightened Skye's physical abilities dramaticly. While Dr. N. Sain began to come to the realization that kidnapping someone and giving them super powers was a really stupid idea, Skye made a daring escape from the N. Sain's ship with the help of Commander Comet's armor and his awesome space bike and successfully made it back to Earth in one piece.
Initially just happy to be back home, Skye returned to stunt work after her "miraculous recovery", but while she still loved her day job she felt like she could be doing so much more with her new powers. While she pondered this and messed around with the armor that she got from the alien scientist, Skye accidentally played a recorded message left by the late owner. In his message, the Commander revealed that he had most likely been killed in the line of duty, and urged whoever found his armor to continue the fight for justice in his stead. Skye did not need further convincing, and after a few modifications to the Commander's costume and the space bike she "borrowed" from Dr. N. Sain, she emerged onto the superhero scene as the legendary hero from beyond the stars, Captain Hyperdrive!
Spectacular, ain't she?
