Education: As Tyus Morse, Jean Dornier graduated from Central Falls High School. While in HS, he studied the French language for five years. He completed his courses with satisfactory marks, insufficient to pursue a college degree. Tyus was not focused on his academics. He was more interested in his martial arts training and soccer (football). His mother enrolled him in a Kempo Karate school at age 6 and he trained in Kempo for 12 years rising to the rank of 2nd Degree black belt. He also played as a midfielder or attacking wing back for his high school soccer team. His natural aggressive tendencies allowed him to succeed on the soccer field.
As a member of the French Foreign Legion, Jean Dornier received training and experience in Airborne, Infantry, Commando, and Demolitions. At the age of 18, Tyus Morse traveled to Paris, France in order to join the Legion. Leaving his old life behind, Tyus took on his French given identity of Jean Louis Dornier. He spent the next ten years as a member of the 2e Régiment Etranger de Parachutistes (2nd Foreign Airborne Regiment). As a demolitionist, Jean is trained and experienced in the use of most explosives including C4, comp B, dynamite, Nitro-glycerin as well as most AP and AT mines used by armies of the world. He enjoys being creative with his own personal designs.
As a member of 2REP, Jean served with No. 1 Company (specializing in Urban Warfare) as a Rifleman (FAMAS) or Light Machine Gunner (Minimi), No. 4 company (specializing in Snipers and Demolitionists) as a demolitionist and eventually with Number 2 GCP Team (Groupement des Commandos Parachutistes/Commando Parachute Group) attached to 2REP.
As a result of training and experience in the FFL, Jean is qualified with the French issued FAMAS, Minimi and AA-52 General Purpose Machine Gun. He also has familiarization with the Austrian Aug, American M4, Belgian FN FAL and FGM-148 Javelin.
While in the Legion, Jean Dornier trained in the Legion's version of Krav Maga. They don't specifically call it Krav Maga, but its philosophies and techniques are spot on for the Israeli Self-Defense System. The Legion does not use a belt system, but Jean has become quite proficient in its techniques over the ten years he served in the Legion.
