Alfred Nora & Sonya Khalturin
Alfred and Sapphire nodded at eachother,
"I guess I am up for doing the battle now" Alfred said as he locked up to the klefki orbiting his head, "Can we make sure its not all the way to fainting please I don't want to detour to a pokemon center before we get the pokedex."[/color] Alfred said as he looked around.
"By any chance do you know of a place we can have our little one pokemon aside battle?" Alfred asked scratching his head. Kirlia doing it almost in synchrosity
Sonya only blinked a couple of times trying to register the fact that they needed a place to battle. She'd gotten excited and had completely spaced on that simple fact.
"uhhhhh, we could, um...Maybe in the town square?" Sonya attempted to offer not really sure of the best place they could battle. After all she had only arrived just yesterday.
Carolina rolled her eyes as she began tugging at Alfreds shirt almost as if she remembered more about locations then he did. She dragged him in the general direction of a public battleground. It was embrassing But Alfred was used to this type of thing. It was less of a master servant relationship with his pokemon and more of a equal footing. either way. It was a small sandy battleground that greeted Alfreds sight.
"Well I guess this is a spot we could battle. Thanks Carolina" Alfred said as he patted his Amaura on the head, she was cold to touch as always.
Sonya had giggled a bit at Alfred and Carolina. She had to admit, Alfred was definitely a bit unusual, and his pokemon were no exception either. It made things seem a bit more relaxed in the world. Upon reaching the battle ground Sonya smiled and nodded at Alfred.
"This will do fine. So Alfred, I think I'll give you a choice. Pick a number between one and three." As she said this Sonya reached back and put her hand in a pouch on her backpack while she smiled excitedly for the battle.
Alfred took a spot on side of the sandy battleground, his mind thinking of who to choose himself, settling on a decision. He then decided to choose a number, 1 is way to low and 3 is way to high, two sets of pokemon will be fighting eachother so that decided the number.
"I guess I am gonna pick the number 2 pokemon" Alfred said with a grin.
Sonya pulled out a pokeball as she walked to her own side of the field and released her Glaceon.
"Sorry Glaceon, looks like you'll be sitting this one out, but I thought you might like to enjoy the show." Sonya had knelt down next to Glaceon petting the pokemon gently before standing up and turning back to Alfred grinning.
"I'll try my best not to go overboard so we won't need to make a stop by the pokecenter, but that might be a little tricky now, but we'll see how things go, so then now that we have our field come on out Espeon!" Sonya threw a second pokeball into air to release her Espeon who purred abit as it showed up sitting and staring at Alfed.
Alfred nodded looking at the pokemon that had been sent out, Espeon, Agile , Psychic type, A cool looking pokemon. Carolina pouted at the sight of it, She was cuter then that feline thing. Honestly. Sapphire just grinned she knew exactly where this was going, she looked up at Alfred waiting for him to speak.
"So you have two Pokemon from the Eevee line, Nice! Anywho The pokemon I choose to battle Is Lock." Alfred said as the Klefki flew down from above his head and hovered just above the ground opposite the Espeon.
"Say when your ready" Alfred said as he poked his glasses up his face, they shone slightly in the sunlight.
The Tactician had arrivedSonya grinned excitedly.
"I was born ready. I just hope you don't underestimate us, we'll make you sorry." Sonya winked at Alfred jokingly before pointing at Klefki.
"Now Espeon let's kick this off with a Psybeam!" To this Espeon lifted her head for a moment as her eyes glowed a bit and a multicolored beam shot towards Lock as Espeon swung her head forward. Clearly Sonya wanted to start things off quickly, and she wasn't going to play around, too much.
Alfred watched the Psybeam launch forward, towards Lock. Seemed like Sonya wasn't one to mess around when it came to strangers. Good but it would take more then that to outspeed his Klefki.
"Lock, Thunder wave!" Alfred said. The Klefki's arms unfolded as it darted beside the beam. A little scratched but the damage was minimal. Klefki soon erupted a ton of sparks that arced through the sky like tiny bolts of lightning, each one capable of paralysis. Seemed like Alfred was trying to setup something.
"Espeon, use Psychic!" Espeon's eyes glowed and a wall of sand came up between her and the thunderwave taking the brunt of the blasts, though the shocks on the sand also got a good little nip on Espeon from around her as the sand dropped. Her back left leg had a couple of sparks fly around it which meant that her leg was probably paralyzed. i
"Espeon use Psychic!" Admittedly Sonya hadn't expected Lock to have the speed to dodge the Psybeam, so she would just have to damage him up a bit, and with that Espeon's eyes glowed once more as she projected a Invisible force towards Lock. Which surrounded him in a Bluish Purplish Aura.
Lock was slowly being attack by a invisible force, due to his steel typing it had little effect but it was still whittling down his health,
"Lock, Use your signature move! FAIRY LOCK!" Alfred yelled as Locks eyes suddenly narrowed with determination. Lock Glowed white as hundreds of golden spectral like chains erupted out of his body surronding the battle field with a large amount of chains creating a solid but see through wall. Trapping the pokemon inside away from their trainers.
"But I an't done, Lock aim towards the sky and use SPIKES!" Alfred yelled as the Klefki lauched a white ball upwards, it erupted into a large volume of rocky sharp objects That descended like a sharp hail into the chained area which made it almost impossible to dodge without a counter move. Lock and Alfred were trying to ruin the Espeons concentration by forcing it to evade.
Sonya looked around at the fairy lock, it was her first time seeing on, and it was definitely a sight to behold, but there would be another time to admire it, the spike attack would have to be dealt with, but why did one have to look at it as a bad thing?
"Espeon Psychic once more!" This time the spikes that would've come even near Espeon's location lit up mid air. Normally it would have been harder for a pokemon to grab something of this amount in bulk, but with the training she'd been doing with Glaceon and Espeon this was second nature now. After grabbing them out of the air the spikes then moved to encircle Klefki like a tornado moving in to crush Lock.
"This isn't good but luckily. lock use Fairy wind!" Alfred said as The Klefki nodded It quickly rooted itself in the ground as a wind started to quickly arrive. it seemed to be carrying pollen and it was beautiful. but what it did do was begin to pick up all the spikes like a rushing wave, it didn't remove all of the ones surronding Lock, but it definitly reduced the damage. The spikes continued towards the espeon like a tidal wave, so many spikes it would be impossible to stop them all.
"Like I said, Hes called lock for a reason" Sonya was actually impressed by Lock at this point, but that wouldn't stop her from trying her best.
"Espeon, use Hyper Beam!" Normally Sonya tried to save Hyper Beam, almost like a trump card, but this might just qualify. Thus Espeon raised her head a bit once more only to lurching forward as she took a step releasing the Hyper Beam from her mouth causing her to slide back a bit from the force cutting straight through the wave of spikes which opened a good sized window that would have them pass right by her if it weren't for the enormous amount of spikes, so Espeon would still get struck, but on a much lesser scale as the beam headed straight for Lock.
Lock looked at the Hyperbeam that was coming for him. He was too deep in concentration to move. But he could still brace himself for impact. Lock was enveloped in a flash of light, as the light exploded. He was still standing. Breathing heavily he looked out to see if his trump card had any effect. He was built for defense. He could take many a hit, He was the sentry
As all the sand and dust cleared Espeon stood strong, but yet it was clear she was worn out by the heavy panting and bruises she had suffered throughout the battle.
.
"I guess I call it there, Both pokemon looked like they had their fill" Alfred said as he looked at Lock win a grin.
"Come back here Lock that was a good match, you sure proved to them your strength" Alfred said as the Fairy lock faded and Lock breathing heavily jumped over bruised and scratched all over its shiny metal surface.
"Sapphire if you may start patching up Lock" Alfred said as he looked down to his kirlia with a look of reassurance. She was the most vital member of the team. The medic. Sapphire began using Heal Pulse. Basking her hands in a warm orange like as she applied them to Klefki enveloping the little key pokemon in a glow.
"Great Job Espeon, you made me proud as always." Sonya spoke softly to her Espeon as she returned it to it's pokeball.
"Well Alfred, I have to admit you're pretty good. Makes me wonder...How many badges from other regions you might have." Sonya called out to Alfred as she switched to her final pokeball and smirking.
"Now Natalie come on out!" And with a toss of a pokeball and another flash of light her Quilava Natalie appeared standing on two feet for a moment in curiousity beofre dropping low ready for a fight.
"Alfred meet Natalie, my first pokemon ever!"Alfred looked at the small firey pokemon, It seemed like it was ready to battle.
"Nice I guess my first pokemons was Lock and Sapphire, Carolina came later, while we are on the topic of gym battles I am gonna be frank. I don't have any gym badges, didn't have the time to while i was finishing trainer school. That didn't mean I didn't train my pokemon but it just meant I was limited in how far i could travel." Alfred said as his Team looked up at him with a grin of happyness.
"So i guess thats it for the battles. If you want to I could get Sapphire to patch your pokemon up." Alfred said with great trust in his Kirlia's healing abilty.
"That's alright, Espeon prefers to just rest until she's naturally better. It's kinda what we're used to where I was from since we were a ways away from the main city we just let our pokemon heal naturally unless they were sick and needed the Pokecenter. So, ready to head to the lab now?" Sonya offered with a smile. She was a bit surprised someone as old as Alfred appeared to be didn't have any badges yet, but that's alright, it's never too late to start. Finally Sonya pulled out another pokeball and returned Glaceon and Natalie. It was only polite to introduce Natalie after all.
"Well alright that makes sense" Alfred said in response Sonya when it came to the topic of how they healed their pokemon. neither the less Sapphire was an amazing assest to the team. So Alfred like to use her natural abiltys as much as possible.
"Yea I guess its time we actually start heading to the lab." Alfred responded as Sapphire finished healing up Lock letting out a long sigh of relief as she did so, healing can be strenous sometimes. Lock returned to orbiting Alfreds head. A little more trusting of Sonya. Sapphire spoke inside Alfreds head again.
"There" then after a short delay.
"Done" The Kirlia said inside Alfreds mind as she stood back beside Alfred.
"So err. What way is the lab again. I forgot after that battle" Alfred said slightly clueless.
Sonya giggled softly at Alfreds lack of memory and waved him over.
"I'm pretty sure it's on the North end of town. So you know where you're going to head next after you get your Pokedex?" Sonya was hoping they could possibly go together, because these journeys were always more fun when you had friends, and as much as she might try and deny it for now, Alfreds team was starting to grow on her a lot.
"Thanks for the directions, And I guess I'll probably be heading towards the first gym or something" Alfred said as he looked at Carolina whom nodded in approval. Alfred would be sad to see Sonya leave, his team and himself had start to grow to like her company. Plus not to mention she was a coordinator. Either way he would probably see her again around the region. She was probably super busy with Contests and stuff. Alfred sighed under his breath. Sapphire had that worried Empathatic look on her face as if she knew what Alfred was feeling.
Sonya smiled as they began walking.
"Depending on where that is and where the first contest will be, I might just be headed that way myself. We could head there together if you wouldn't mind? I know Natalie would love a chance to battle sometime and I think you'd be a great challeger for the task." Sonya wasn't sure if she was imposing a little too much again so she was trying to give an out to Alfred in case she was being a pest about it. A lot would depend on where some things were and what she decided to do first though and that would all be figured out shortly, at least Sonya really hoped so.
Sapphire blinked, another trainer that would be nice to have around, she could hone her own skills as a tacticain from more then just Alfred's techniques. Sapphire just continued to stare wide eyed in suprise at the Woman while Alfred spoke up once more.
"I really wouldn't mind traveling the region with someone either if you don't mind but sure I'll be up to traveling togather with you." Alfred said with a smile as Carolina step back over to Sonya and tried to stroke her hair with her head.
Sonya giggled softly and started to pet Carolina as they walked to the lab.
"Then it's settled, we'll be traveling together. By the way...Can you cook?" Sonya asked completely off hand, but it was relevant, sort of. She was able to cook for herself and everything, but it would be nice to have another person who could cook on the road so she wouldn't have to do it all the time, especially now that there was going to be more than just her to cook for! And so the casual talking began as they made there way to visit with Professor Maple so that the two could begin their journey.
