Lily and Brent

After about ten minutes of walking, the pair came across a massive round building with a giant Pokeball on the front. It was nestled on top of a small hill at the very base of a huge mountain. "This is Professor Maple's Lab, and that mountain behind it is Mount Viore, the tallest mountain in the Region." Brent explained to Lily. "That's amazing, it's like Mount Silver back in Johto!" Brent started walking up the long stone stairs that led up to the Laboratory, and Lily quickly followed suit. Soon they were at the door, which opened as they approached. It was an automatic door for a reason.

"Professor Maple? Are you here?" Yelled Brent as he looked around the massive interior of the building. Pretty soon a young man with a white lab coat and a pair of goggles on his head came through a door near the back of the room. He looked over at the two young trainers and smiled. "Well, well, Brent Ignia, how good to see you. I trust Leon has been well?" Brent nodded, approaching the man and shaking his hand. "I'm happy to see you actually here for once, Professor. My dad's in a hotel downtown, waiting for you next big expedition. But I'm here to start my own adventure, and so is she." He pointed over to Lily, who had just begun slowly approaching.

"My name's Lily, I just moved here to Viore, and I haven't had a chance to start my journey yet." Lily was looking over this man who was Professor Maple. He looked to be fairly young compared to many Pokemon Professors, being in his early twenties. Maple smiled and turned to a nearby table. "Ah, such innocence, such purity, just as the heroes of Viore mythology. It's been a while since I've personally handed out a Pokedex to a new starting trainer, I must say I am obsessed with ruins and am usually out in the field." He motioned to the seats there, and Lily and Brent took the cue and sat down, while Maple disappeared into the next room. Moments later, he returned with some drinks, as well as two Viore Region Pokedexs.

"The mysteries of the Viore Region have intrigued me since I was about your age, and I've studied ruins and Pokemon here in the Viore Region ever since." He handed each of them a Pokedex and a drink, holding up one drink for himself. "I'd propose a toast, to safe and wonderful journeys for all of us!" Brent quickly raised his drink in response, Lily following soon after. "I have to admit, this wasn't at all what I was expecting." Admitted Lily, looking over to Brent as he took a drink. "Yeah, he's definitely one of a kind, a lot different from some of the older Professors like Rowan in Sinnoh, or Oak in Kanto. Anyways, take a drink, it's fresh lemonade!" Lily looked down to her drink, and took a gulp. It really was delicious. The three finished their drinks, and the Professor walked them to the door.

"Best of luck on your journeys, however their paths travel." The Professor had a hidden meaning behind that, seeing how the duo acted around each other. He knew even before they did that they would be great friends. After waving goodbye, they turned to find two more people heading into the lab, a boy who had what appeared to be all of his Pokemon out, and a girl who had none out to be seen. "Guess we're not the only ones looking for the Professor today, how are you two doing?" Asked Brent, Cyndaquil somewhat waving from his shoulder.

Unknown

"There it is! Blast it!" One of the strange people ordered their Pokemon to attack, firing a powerful blast at it. Although there was no direct impact, it was enough to knock the fleeing Pokemon, which appeared to be their target, off balance, slowing it down for a moment. "Alright, my turn, get it!" The other person then attacked with it's Pokemon, scoring a direct hit. It fell to the ground in some nearby shrubbery, but moments later escaped under the cloud of dust stirred up by the blast.

"Come on, we're getting this cursed thing!" The duo took off once more, with the third strange person still following at a distance. "Those two look like they're up to no good here, I wanna see what else they'll do before I do anything though..." The person continued following them, watching more attacks launched and dust stirred up by the duo.

Devon

Devon smiled at the man's appreciations, and waved. "No problem man. Losing your maps a tough deal. I bet you could probably get a free one from the front desk if ya asked." The Lucario with the odd wrist band next to him let out some sort of odd grunt sound, which alerted the helpful teen to look over at him. His eyes shot to the gleaming stone on the blue canines wrist. Cool, a Lucario. Haven't seen one of those since my battle with Maylene......Whoa, is that....A Mega stone? So Lucario can do it too....Maybe this guy knows something about these things that could help out Professor Rowan? Devon then got brought out of his thoughts once the professor spoke again, raising a brow at the oddly direct response to the Lucario's untranslatable grunt. What?....He sounded like he knew what he just said....? Did Lucario say where the map was or...?

Cyan was also confused at the odd exchange between Trainer and Pokémon, and smiled to the Aura Pokémon anyways. <Hi Shinon! That's too bad. I hope Pent get's better soon! I'm Cyan, nice to meet you!> Pointing to the boy next to her she continued. <This is Devon! He's my Trainer, but not Biscuits.> The Marill then strolled to her left, and shook the distracted Eevee near Devon's leg. <Biscuit! Aren't you gonna say hello?> Looking back to the Marill, the Eevee nodded and fluffed herself out, skipping over in front of Shinon and Pent. The young Pokémon stared up at the Fighting-Steel type in innocent awe. She spoke very fast, still showing her usual hyper tendencies. <Hiya Shinon! I'm Biscuit! Ooo! You're really spiky! Do you not get hugged too much? Ooo! That rock on your arm is pretty!> Cyan finally noticed the stone attached to the Lucario's arm as well, and her eyes glittered in admiration. <It is pretty! Actually, it looks a lot like the stone Shock has around his neck. Is that a 'Mega stone' Shinon?>

Once Pent gave the introductions for both him and his partner, Devon flipped the Pokégear around in his hand and closed it with a quick snap. As he was pocketing the phone in his red hoodie pocket, the odd man asked of the red-head, but was seemingly shot down by his Lucario companion. Devon awkwardly scratched at the side of his head, and gave a blank stare to the duo. "Uh....No? I haven't seen any red head girl around." The boy shook his head before putting both arms behind his head and grinning. "I'm Devon, Devon Lyton." He then gestured to the two Pokémon at his feet....With his feet. Pointing the tip of his running shoes at both Cyan and Biscuit. "That's my Marill, Cyan, and that's my Dad's Eevee Biscuit. I seen em talking up a storm with Shinon, so I'm guess they already said hi." The two Pokémon both gave waves to the adult. Devon still kept his eyes on the man and Lucario duo. His somewhat puzzled gaze darted between Shinon's Mega Bracelet, Pent's staff, and just the Lucario in general. Crossing his arms Devon bit his lip. "So, I got a....Few questions Pent. I've seen a Lucario before in Sinnoh. The Fighting-type Gym Leader in Veilstone City, Maylene, has one. I get that people say you need to be in sync with your Pokémon while battling, but I swear she was taking it to the next level in my battle with her. It was like her Lucario was reading her mind or something! He could fire off a bunch of attacks with out her even saying anything! And I uh, kinda notice you two talking a bit. Can you......Hear Shinon? Like in your head? And you understand him? How can he do that? How can YOU do that? Is it a Lucario thing?"

Pent

Thinking over the boy's words, he finally nodded. "The front desk... You're probably correct. And, well I suppose I didn't lose the map, apparently it's in my suitcase. Which of course I do not have on me, yet."

Though the Lucario could not read Devon's specific thoughts, he was able to discern a few specific emotions, and extrapolated from there. Flicking his tail, he communicated his observations, Pent, this Trainer is interested in us.

Shinon then looked to Cyan with a smile, noting her confused aura. <Oh, my apologies, Cyan. I'm able to communicate with my Trainer. And it's a pleasure... I do hope he feels better soon.> Looking to Devon, he nodded with a soft grunt. <I see... he has a kind, determined aura. I'm sure you must be happy with him.> Once Biscuit was pulled from her daydreaming, the Aura Pokémon looked down at the brown, easily excitable Eevee. Furrowing his brows a bit he replied to the odd question. <Hello Biscuit. A-And, no, I suppose the spike on my chest makes it a bit harder to have a traditional hug.> Presenting his bracer, he nodded towards Cyan. <You have a good eye, this stone is called Lucarionite, and it is indeed a Mega Stone. You claim one of your teammates also holds a Mega Stone? I suppose that explains your Trainer's interest in me.>

Pent let out a dejected sigh as Devon mentioned he had not seen such a girl. "I-I see... Well, it's nice to meet you Devon Lyton." Finally, his light brown eyes fell to the small Pokémon at the teen's feet."Cyan and Biscuit, it's a pleasure meeting you both." Nodding he let out a soft chuckle. "It would appear that they have introduced themselves, yes."

Though Pent was prepared for the teen's question, he realized that perhaps he wasn't as prepared as he thought he was. "Ah... yes, it is a talent inherent to Lucario. Essentially, yes, Shinon can sense my thoughts by reading my aura. He is able to do this with any living creature, though of course it is not mind reading by that exact definition." Resting his gaze on Shinon he continued, "I can hear and understand Shinon perfectly, yes. It seems like it is in my head, but... it may just be a way my brain copes with the sensory information." Gesturing towards Shinon's temmie-like appendages, he continued his lecture, "Those appendages are what Lucario uses to sense aura."

Standing proudly, Shinon nodded at his Trainer's explanation. <Your battle against Maylene must have been difficult. Being able to anticipate the next action your foe will take, along with being able to receive a command at a split-second's notice...> Shaking his head Shinon let out a small grunt. <It's not fair. This is also why we choose to avoid conflict if at all possible.>

"Rook" Vaahn Alphine

@Ciphra@1Charak2

As he came into town, he quickly noticed that there was a battle going on between two trainers in the town square due to seeing from the road and it being quite the scen compared to the rest of the place. It was quite an exciting event and Vaahn hurried closer to get a good look of it, it seemed it was about at its conclusion but an Espeon and a Clefki were engaged. "Oh my what a beautiful Espeon... and look there its a Glaceon as well... " he said and looked to Twix who lit up like a candle at the sight of them. To this Vaahn chuckled slightly as he watched the whole battle to its conclusion, however he noticed Twix's eagerness seeing his tail swish and him bounce up and down as he cheered for the Espeon with all his being. The pokeémon gasped as the Espeon got into trouble and even more so when she pulled out of it with a dazzling display indeed. Sometimes Vaahn got worried that Twix would get a heart attack or something from this.

When the two trainers had settled their battle and were on their way to the pokémon lab Vaahn grinned. "Looks like they head in the same direction as we do. Lucky you Twix~" he said and chuckled once more as the pokémon shot off the first chance it got right after them. To this Vaahn simply rolled his eyes and followed, they might been called back but he figured that Twix wouldn't stop before he had the chance to meet such lovely pokémon for himself. Vaahn Simply watched as Twix ran up to the female trainer and Sang his name while bouncing around her happily. He was very eager to make her acquaintance as she had such pretty Eevee-lutions that she hid away from him.

Vaahn rolled his eyes and shrugged at this but approached them as well none the less, "Oh Excuse me miss... It seems my Sylveon was a bit taken in by your fine pokémon. Sorry if he's bothering you" he said before looking to Alfred. "My Name is Vaahn, The Sylveon's name is Twillelix, or Twix for short... Excuse us if we interrupted something... " he said slightly bowing to the two almost in apology.

Pandora and Kirby The twins

Two Twins was got their pokedex for professor Edward half a day ago and was their way to the Vertigo city. Taking deep breath Pandora kicked the cone, while looking around the forest that looks the same from all sides "Soo, Do you have like a any idea where we are?" she asked at her twins brother Kirby who walked ahead of her. Kirby gave her a little angrily gaze, before turned back to the forest "...Our way to the Vertigo city" he answered shorty. Pandora rolled her eyes, muttering something angrily "Well I know where we are going? I asked where we are now? We are lost right?" she said raising her voice. Kirby bit his lip before he stopped and turned to his twins sister "YES, and whose fault is that?" he raised his voice "Was it you, which went on to follow that Shinx?" he continued lowering his voice to his normal tune.
Pandora was silent for a moment "...I am sorry, but It's my first time to see a Shinx...and she was very cute..." she said looking at her legs embrassed. Kirby looked at his twins sister sighing "It's alright, just let's continue, there much be something somewhere..." he said walking forward. Pandora nodded then followed him "But You much to admit...I was close to catch that little Shinx" she said smilling. Kirby glanced at his sister "...Well, better luck next time" he said.

Alfred Nora & Sonya Khalturin

[color=9850E0]"-and if you don't stir it enough it just gets too lumpy, and it just doesn't taste as good, ya know? So that's why I personally-" As they had been walking Sonya had started to explain different things she loved to cook, or just easier things for the road. She figured they ought to decide what things to get at the market after they finished at the lab. Then a random Sylveon had decided to come up to them, more specifically her and it was definitely a huge chatterbox.

Alfred had only be half noting down what Sonya said in his head, (Sapphire on the other hand was literally hanging on her every word) he was too focused on other things, like the fact they would need some sort of shade if it rained, like a tent or something. Either way while Alfred was in his Pondering, Lock saw a Slyveon come up. The cute pink ribbony Slyveon always flaunting around their style. the most famous Fairy type. It wanted the Madams attention. Lock descended from orbiting Alfreds head like a sentry and landed in front of the Sylveon. It began crackling with a electricity that bore reminsince of thunder wave. Then Lock saw the trainer come up and it repeated what it did with the Slyveon, this time JANGLING its keys fiercely in the strangers face. Alfred blinked as the stranger began to talk to them.

A little embarrassed by all the comotion Sonya laughed awkwardly as she scratched the side of her head a bit. She hadn't expected someone to come up to them, though it was a bit of a relief that the Sylveon had a trainer already because she had no idea why it was so excited. After Vaahn had come up to them and explained a bit Sonya couldn't help but blush slightly. She was used to hearing a lot of compliments about her Glaceon and Espeon after contests, even Natalie who she normally didn't use for contests anymore usally, but just randomly when all she had done was battle with one of her pokemon was a bit unexpected. "T-Thank you, and it's nice to meet you both." Sonya smiled and closed her eyes cheerfully. She still wasn't fully sure what to say to them, she was trying to focus on cooking when all this came up after all.

Alfred was Finally thinking about the situation at hand. some random guy had come up and Lock was being as hostile as always, Alfred decided to let Lock finish what it was doing and return to hovering around his head before talking. "I thought we were going to the lab" Alfred said a little annoyed at the delay. Carolina was getting impaitent at the suitation, she didn't want to wait and stop for no man woman or child! The voice of his Kirlia returned back into his mind. "I" after a few seconds "Agree".

Sonya opened her eyes once more and laughed again while she rubbed the back of her head. "I suppose we were, my apologies. Well it was a pleasure to meet you Vaahn, Twix, and you're welcome to join us, or I'm sure we'll run into each other again sometime." Sonya said while smiling. They would need to work on Alfred's manners a bit in the future though, but then again she could understand his impatience considering he was about to get his Pokedex and start his first journey!

They had began walking again when they encountered another two people. They looked like young kids who were just out for a stroll and going out on their journey at a very young age. They mentioned something about a professor. "Wait you two younguns know where the professor is? care to tell, I really want to get my pokedex." Alfred said calmly though you could hear his impaitence. You could also see his Amaura getting awfully twitchy as she wanted to see the world. Sapphire on the other hand seemed to just stay by Alfreds side as always watching and observing for anything she could learn.

"Rook" Vaahn Alphine

@Ciphra@1Charak2

Vaahn and his Sylveon both halted when the Klefki almost crashed into their faces while sparking with thunder, it was certainly not a very nice way to greet people. However as the girl spoke again he nodded to her before glancing to Twix who shot a rather friendly gaze to the Klefki in return and for a second tried to give it a kiss before Vaahn finally caught up and gently grabbed one of its feelers. "Woah... shimmer down a notch Twix..." he whispered as he bent down to pat the pokémons head. The Sylveon stayed close by his side this time and only tilted his head as he watched the other pokémon with a curious gaze.

The man appeared to be very impatient however, and for a moment Vaahn hesitated slightly with the following procedure even if they were invited. However he were going there anyway and he might as well get it over with right now... the more people the merrier, or something. They both followed the pair after a short reply "Oh... Yeah sure..." he would call as he knew that his Sylveon would never forgive him if he didn't at least let him meet the two other evolutions before leaving this place. Tagging along slightly behind them he wondered what the next would happen today, this sure were quite an curious situation.

However they soon seemed to come to an stop as the Man who were seeming so impatient earlier decided to ask a bunch of kids where the Professor was, of course Vaahn expected him to be at his lab now or so he had heard at least, it was the main reason he were going there in the first place after all. This time he refrained from saying much as he didn't want ot add further wood to the fire... even Twix was mostly silent now as he were a bit confused by the situation.

Lily and Brent

@1Charak2 @Ciphra @Iatos

""Younguns"? I don't think even you're old enough to be talking like that." Said Brent, chuckling a little. Lily was still a little unsure about these new people, but they didn't seem that bad. "If you're looking for the Professor, he's up in his lab for the moment. He may not be here much longer, though, he's heading out to a ruin dig later." Brent gave them what they wanted, while Lily looked over their Pokemon. One man appeared to have a Sylveon by his side. The other, who had asked about the Professor, had quite the collection. An Amaura, a very rare Pokemon considering it could only be restored from fossils, a Klefki, who she had heard could be a very reliable and dangerous Pokemon if trained right, and a Kirlia, who seemed quite cute, and was a different color than usual.

"Wow, you guys have so many neat Pokemon, I hope I can get some great Pokemon like that someday too." Lily finally spoke up, giving a gentle smile. "Oh yeah, where are our introductions: My name's Brent, and this is my partner Cyndaquil." Said Brent pointing up to his small fire type companion. "Right, and my name's Lily, this here is my partner, Chikorita." Said Lily, pointing to her small grass type as well. "Well, we can tell you're in a bit of a hurry yourselves, so we won't keep you. See you guys around somewhere, maybe." They passed by the group, and went on their way downtown.

After a while they sat down on a bench outside the New Amber Town Pokemon Center, watching their two Pokemon play around at their feet. "You know, Cyndaquil has really taken a liking to your Chikorita." Lily looked over to Brent, smiling a little. "I'd say the opposite is true as well. You know, you're a really nice guy too." Brent chuckled and stood up, pulling out his orange colored Pokegear. "So, where do you plan on going after this?" Lily thought about it for a sec, then stood up as well and gave her response. "I'm going to be going after the Viore League, but really I just wanted to get out and see the world, all the beauty and wonder that awaits."

Brent couldn't really argue with that. The world was an amazing place, and also the Viore League is one of the most highly coveted events in all of Viore. "Well, If that's the case, how'd you like to go on this journey... together?" Lily looked at Brent for a moment, contemplating. She'd only just met him, but they were already great friends. And journeys were always better with friends. "That would be great! You're the first friend I've made in this region, of course I'd love to!" Well, it was settled now, the duo would travel on their Pokemon Journey together from here on out.

"Well then, let's not waste time, we've got the Viore League to win! Our first stop is Vertigo City, it's a few hours south of here. We should get there before dark at least." Lily was practically beaming with enthusiasm, and realized that she should have the map of Viore on her Pokegear as well. Unfortunately, it appeared her Pokegear was incompatible with the Region Map for Viore. "I can't get this thing to work, I don't get it... It worked fine back in Johto." Brent walked over and took a look at it, and came to a fast conclusion. "I'm guessing you didn't get a Viore Region Map Card before you came here, that's an easy fix, you can get one in the Pokemon Center." Lily, without saying anything, ran into the Pokemon Center.

A few minutes later, she was back, Pokegear updated and all. Now they were ready. With their Pokemon by their sides, they set off on their journey together, heading towards Vertigo City.

Unknown

@Pink Madness

"Grah, it's been hours since we last saw that thing, where could it have gone?!" It appears the duo has lost their prey, as they have their Pokemon blasting anything that moves at this point. "I don't think we're getting anywhere that way, let's smoke it out. Smokescreen!" The other persons Pokemon unleashed a Smokescreen, covering the area, but not drawing enough attention to make people think it was a forest fire. Pretty soon there was a rustling in the tree branches, as their target took off above the treeline.

"Well... we found it..." Said one of the duo, as they took off after it. Still trailing behind them was this mystery man, who had still to make a move. Suddenly he stopped, he had heard voices behind him. He turned to find a pair of what appeared to be trainers making their way past. He stayed out of sight, but from their talking he guessed they were lost. "Just what I need right now, a pair of lost trainers caught up in all this. Things are getting even more complicated..." As soon as they were out of sight, he pulled out a Pokeball, and called out one of his Pokemon. "Keep out of sight, and make sure those two get out safely." His Pokemon nodded, and took off into the sky with its bat-like wings. Now this man returned to his objective at hand, quickening his pace to make up for lost time.

Devon & Pent

Once Shinon brought up his observations on battling, Cyan smiled and shook her head. <It was tough, but we did pretty good even though we lost. We managed to take out two of Maylene’s Pokémon, but then when she sent out her Lucario he started using Steel moves.> Sighing she took her eyes to the floor and frowned.<Devon thought it would be a good idea to send out Shock, our teams Ampharos, to deal with him. It didn’t last long, Shock got hit with Bone Rush, and after me and Quill went down to it too, we lost….> After another few moments, the Marill looked up from the floor to the Lucario in front of her. <But we’re gonna get better! Then we’re gonna go back there, and beat Maylene for real! I know we will!>

Worry furrowed Shinon's brows as Cyan recalled the battle. A soft sigh escaped his maw before smiling slightly at the tiny Pokémon's determination. <I see... Most of my attacks are defensive, but if that Lucario belonged to a Gym Leader, I would assume most of its attacks would contribute to fighting. That said.> Putting a spiked paw to his muzzle he thought before nodding. <Lucario are Steel and Fighting-typed. We are weak to Fighting, Ground and Fire-type attacks. Of course, we can use a range of abilities from Normal, Fighting, Dragon, Steel and Ground, for the most part…> Smiling he continued, <Good luck, though. I believe in you and your partners.>

Devon nodded at Pent’s explanation on how a Lucario works, and walked over in front of Shinon, crouching down to inspect the Pokémon further. ”Whoa. So that’s how it works? Aura. I knew the move they can use was called Aura Sphere, and they had some sort of special sense or something, but I didn’t know exactly what it was….” Grinning at the canine he waved. ”Hi Shinon. You’re pretty cool! But, that stone on your arm makes you even cooler. If it is what I think it is.”

Taking his gaze off of Cyan, Shinon looked at the teen who was now crouched and at eye-level with him. Pent, please thank Devon for me. The aforementioned man looked over at the teen with a smile. "Ah, you noticed his Lucarionite. Oh, and, Shinon wishes to let you know that he appreciates your kind words. Perhaps one day his aura will sync to yours so that he can communicate as clearly as he does with me. Though, perhaps I am getting ahead of myself." Devon looked up at Pent, eyes glittering with excitement. ”Really? That’d be pretty sweet!”

Standing up, The teen fished around in his hoodie pockets, coming up with three Pokéballs. A Premier ball, a basic red and white Pokéball, and an Ultra ball fumbled around in the kid’s hands. It took him a few moments to finally managing to click the buttons on all of them. Three flashes of light zipped to the ground next to the teen, summoning for his other Pokémon. An Ampharos, Monferno, and a Mismagius stood before the group. Well, most of them stood. The Ampharos lay on his back, asleep, the odd yellow Pokémon snoring away as his tail light blinked to the rhythm of his breathing.

Looking over the summoned Pokémon, Pent's grin grew wide. Clasping his hands together, while leaning on his staff, he beamed, "What lovely partners you have!"

The Monferno stood up, arms crossed as he inspect the newcomers with cool gray eyes. The Ghost among them sat in a heap of her own cloth-like body, before yawning and slowly rising up to hover about two feet from the ground.

Shinon's gaze looked over the group before fixing on the Mismagius. He spoke softly to her, <...what a strange aura you emit.> Staring at her for a few moments, he shook his head and smiled somewhat. <Apologies for being rude, it's a pleasure everyone. I am Shinon.> Missy noticed the Lucario staring her way, and cocked her head at what he said. <Aura…..? Ah, You’re a Lucario. I remember your capabilities. Hello Shinon. I am Missy.> Looking away, the Ghost had depressed thoughts as her eyes went glassy. He knows…..My past emotions must show though to him surely. Oh no….. Furrowing his brows, Shinon attempted to use his aura to convey that everything will be fine, and that she need not worry. W-What is he doing? O-Oh…...I suppose it would be best if I didn’t think about HIM while on this trip…. Quill looked over to Shinon, raising a brow. Hm…..A Lucario. Haven’t seen one since that Gym battle where Shock got clocked in the head with Bone Club… Shaking his head, Quill finally spoke up and gave a short wave. <Hey Shinon. I’m Quill. Nice to meet you.> At the Monferno’s words, Shinon gave a nod and a small smile.

Devon pointed to each other them as he shoved the Pokéballs back. ”That’s my Monferno, Quill, my Mismagius, Missy, and….” Crouching down, Devon repeated poked at the Ampharos’ ear. A small spark shot from the Electric-type that caused Devon to yelp, and pull his hand away to shake it around. Gritting his teeth he spoke. ”And this is Shock. It’s actually pretty rare, he’s usually the one waking me up!” Snickering the boy grabbed Shock’s shoulders and hauled him up on his feet. ”How’s a taste of your own medicine feel buddy?”

Shock stretched out, standing on his toes as he looked behind him at his Trainer and smirked. <Oh I’m not mad today, actually relieved sorta that we’re FINALLY out of that big metal tube and off on our little grand adventure!>

The shock caused Pent to flinch, his warm brown eyes fixing on Devon, with extreme worry across his visage. "D-Devon, are you all right?" Devon looked down at his zapped hand, and waved off the worry with a smirk. ”Dude, don’t worry. I get zapped by Shock every morning. Either he holds back, or I just can’t really feel it too much anymore but his shock’s aren't that painful. I’ve had, WAY worse injuries from Pokémon, trust me.”

Turning his head to Shinon and Pent, Shock’s eye’s went to Shinon’s Mega stone. His eyes went wide as he looked down at his own. A large fabric brace, colored silver, was around the Light Pokémon’s striped neck. A glittering Ampharosite stone shone in its center. Taking his stare back to Shinon he pointed. <Hey, you got one of these crazy rocks too? What happens to you when these things explode? You get an afro?>

Shinon's gaze met Shock briefly before looking over his Ampharosite. <Ah, Cyan mentioned you had a Mega Stone as well—and yes, mine is a Lucarionite. Not many can claim to have such rare items, though it seems the more Key Stones there are in existence, the more they are beginning to find.> He then snorted, <An Afro...? No, my aura-sensing organs grow larger, and I become more lithe... I also have more spiked protrusions. I would show you, but... I would rather not battle.> Shock waved his arms, and shrugged. <That’s ok, I think I get the idea. I seen a picture of what I turn into. Apparently I get this huge mop of wool for hair and a tail….I uh...I dunno if I’m into that or not. It’ll be weird having wool again.>

Devon pointed to Shock’s Mega Collar with his right arm, then brought up his left arm and showed off his white Mega Bracelet featuring its shiny Key Stone. Eyes on Pent he spoke. ”You guys were eyeing up my bracelet earlier, and I see you two are rocking the same Mega stone gear that we are. You see, I’m from Sinnoh, and I’m good buddies with one of the regions professors, Professor Rowan. He asked me to come to Viore and interview Professor Maple about Mega evolution. Seeing as you guys got them too, and we just got ours, do you mind telling us what you know about these stones? It would really help us out.”

"Oh, yes you're quite right, I've been meaning to say something for a while now. Professor Rowan...? I see. Well then, I am Professor Faraday, though given I am from Kalos there's a very, very good chance you've never heard of me. Truly, I'm impressed that Professor Rowan has dabbled into the field of Mega Evolution—it's likely due to Augustine's interest. Ah yes actually, it really should not be all that surprising. Apologies, I'm rambling." Presenting his staff—though the motion of removing it from the ground caused him to stumble—he gestured to the staff that had a small chain-like cord wrapped around it, a Key Stone in its pendant. "You have both a Key Stone and a Mega Stone, have you yet attempted Mega Evolution?" Devon shook his head at the question, staring at the staffs pendent before his eyes went back to his own Mega Bracelet. ”Nah. We never got the chance to try it yet. The day Rowan called me about these things, I went over to his lab and checked out a bunch of pictures and notes on Mega Evolution that he’d been working on with the other professor from Kalos. Professor Rowan studies Evolution, so this was like the next step for him I guess. Anyways, after I visited he set me and my Dad up with plane tickets to Viore, and this Ampharosite and Key Stone. ” Pointing down to Shock, the teen gestured to his hair his his free hand, and pulled it back downwards to stretch it out. ”Apparently Ampharos get these huge white locks of hair on the their head when they Mega Evolve, and this big fluffy tail. They also get like a bunch more of the little balls on their heads and tails inside their new hair. It’s pretty nuts.”

A smile crossed Pent's features when the boy explained Mega-Ampharos. "Oh, yes that's right. I've seen a few of the known transformations. Shinon, for example, changes in a few very distinct way that allows him to draw from a hidden strength." Now knowing that Devon had no practical experience with Mega Evolution, Pent put his hand firmly back on his cane, drawing it to the floor. Smiling cheerfully at the teen he spoke, "Well, a Key Stone and a corresponding Mega Stone are required for Mega Evolution, however it's not exactly that simple. For example, if you attempted to Mega-Evolve Shinon... it would likely fail. Though, I suppose he's a special case, in that perhaps your auras may sync sooner rather than later, and..." The Lucario beside him nudged him and the man let out a chuckled. "R-Right, I'm rambling again. N-Normally, I would say a strong bond with the Pokémon in question is required to activate Mega Evolution. To induce Mega Evolution, the Trainer must touch the stone. This action acts as a catalyst for the transformation. The energy emitted from Mega Evolution is the same energy found in the Anistar City Sundial. Actually, you may wish to travel there as it augments Key Stones in such a way that they resonate with Mega Stones, even ones that are underground...." Once again, Shinon nudged his Trainer. "G-Getting off topic. Apologies. Sadly, as far as how the stones actually work, and why they trigger Mega Evolution is still a mystery last I heard. I know that Professor Sycamore, Professor Maple, myself and many others are seeking that information. Actually, that is partially one of the reasons I've traveled here. Among other reasons..."

At the lecture on Pent’s knowledge of Mega Evolution, Devon repeatedly nodded, strolling near Shock and leaning his hand lightly on his head. ”Sycamore! That was the guy that Rowan talked about. Couldn’t remember the name. And uh, I’ve never heard of Anistar City. Guessing thats in Kalos or something? Might go there one day if I get the chance.” Smiling, the boy shared a look with Shock. Holding out his hand to the Pokémon, Devon was given a high-flipper in return. Shock wearing a smile as well. ”So, all I gotta do is touch the Key Stone, and have a good connection with the Pokémon? I’ve had Shock since I was ten, and I’d say we’re pretty close, right Shock? We could totally pull it off.” Devon gave the Ampharos a pat on the head, and Shock nodded. <Sure! I mean, who else is gonna put up with me? I nearly drove my Mom and Dad off the deep end, and that breeder lady that owned us. You’re like the first actual cool guy I’ve met Devon!>

Pent beamed. "Yes, Anistar City is in Kalos, and its Sundial is certainly quite the sight. Ah! There's another thing..." Furrowing his brows he looked over to Shinon for a moment before continuing, "Mega Evolution seems to only be able to activate as a precursor to a Pokémon Battle, or another adrenaline-inducing activity."

Finally, Devon’s father came from the men’s room, adjusting his unzipped winter jacket and shoving his hands in his pockets as he approached the group. Biscuit, who had been sitting on the ground and watching her tail flop around with the intensity of a Staraptor, immediately squealed and rocketed into the burly man’s arms. Cuddling into his chest she squealed further. <Johnny! You’re back! You took forever!> Both Pent and Shinon wore amused expressions at the display, a soft chuckle escaping Pent's lips. Devon’s father, John, had to quickly take his hands out from his pockets to catch the affectionate Pokémon, and petted her in his arms as he addressed the slightly annoyed teen next to him. ”Sorry about that Devon, I just-” Devon looked up to his right at his untimely father, narrowing his eyes and waving his two hands back and forth as he cut him off. ”It’s fine Dad, just don’t go into detail. Please. Can we finally go grab our bags now? I bet most of the crowds have cleared away too, so thats a plus for me.” John nodded in agreement, before facing the two strangers in front of him. His steely expression changed ever so slightly into a smile.”Making friends already Devon? Hello there. I’m Devon’s father, John Lyton. And you are?”

When addressed, both Pent and Shinon straightened up, making eye contact with the newcomer. "I'm Pent Faraday, a Professor at Lumiose University. It's a pleasure, Mr. Lyton." Gesturing down at his companion he continued, "This is my companion, Shinon."

Looking to the teen, Shinon spoke to Pent, Devon brought up a good point. We should collect our luggage quickly, especially given that Professor Maple is known for disappearing at a moment's notice. Eyes wide, he looked to the two gathered before him. "S-Shinon brings up a good point! We must make haste, Professor Maple does not remain in his laboratory for very long, and we are pressing our luck."

Devon cringed, and nodded at the man’s words. ”Oh shit, you’re totally right! Professor Rowan told me it takes weeks to get ahold of the guy! We gotta go like NOW! Dad, guys, let’s go! Come on!”

After grabbing their luggage, and hitting up a taxi service, Devon, Pent, John, and their Pokémon left the Viore International Airport and glided across the sunny town in a small yellow vehicle. Devon watched the sights of the new place glide by in the window, thoughts ever racing about what may have awaited him in the region of Viore. But, those thoughts would need to wait, as a short stop at a nearby hotel and best wishes from his father interrupted him for a bit. After another short trip through the rest of New Amber, Devon and Pent finally arrived at the large round building atop the small hill on the edge of town that was the Maple Pokémon lab. Devon rushed up the stone steps, Shock, Quill, Missy, Cyan, and Pent with Shinon close by followed suit. The teen came to a stop at the metallic door, which slide open and bathed the teen in the harsh lights of the high tech area. Putting a hand to his face he called out as he checked around the vast room. ”Um, hello? Professor Maple? Are you here? I’m the kid that Professor Rowan sent from Sinnoh!” @Shiny Keldeo

Devon, Pent & Professor Maple

In the back room of the lab, Maple heard the doors open once more. “Must be more trainers coming for their Regional Pokedéxs.” He thought as he heard his name called. He made his way back out into the main lobby to find a few odd sights. One, as he expected, was a young Pokémon Trainer by the looks of him. The other one, however, was different. He wore what resembled a lab coat but it wasn’t standard by any means. He carried a staff with him, and appeared to be much older than even him. That’s when he remembered a message he had received earlier that week.

“Ah, you must be Professor Faraday from Lumiose University, if i’m not mistaken. I heard word that you would be coming, wishing to explore the ruins of Viore, is that correct?” Maple looked over to the boy, he appeared to be a somewhat veteran trainer, but with still some experience to gain. “And you, I can’t say that we have met before. I am Professor Maple, so what can I do for you?”

When Professor Maple recognized him, Pent beamed. "Yes, yes, I am Professor Faraday but please feel free to call me Pent, it's a pleasure to meet you, finally. I am interested in the ruins, among other things." Shinon looked up at the unfamiliar Professor, his red eyes scanning over the man's aura with great interest.

Maple locked eyes with Lucario, seemingly scanning him as well. “That Lucario of yours seems to be quite impressive and well trained, I’m almost jealous.” He looked to the Lucarionite strapped to Lucario’s arm. “And capable of Mega Evolution as well, this is a rare experience.”

A proud smile overtook Pent's features, as he looked down at his partner. "Lucario's been with me for quite a while now... He is quite skilled, despite the fact we haven't seriously battled in a very long time. As for the Lucarionite..." Shinon's looked up at his Trainer with slight worry. "...It appeared on my desk one day. No information, and it's still something that troubles me to this day. Ah well. I try not to think on it too much, but it's been quite beneficial. Lucario's aura-reading capabilities among other things increase drastically."

Devon met the man’s gaze, and raised a hand in a wave. ”Hi Professor. I’m Devon Lyton. I’m the kid that Professor Rowan sent ahead from Sinnoh to talk about these things.” The boy held up his left arm, the Key Stone embedded into his white bracelet sparkled in the harsh light over head. ”He’s been working with Professor Sycamore too, and they both wanted to know if you have any information on Mega Evolution that they don’t. Compare notes sorta thing. Rowan gave me this Key Stone and Ampharosite for Shock over there as some sort of test sample? I dunno but he told to show them to you.” The teen’s right hand the shot a thumb to the Ampharos waiting near his feet alongside Missy, Quill, and Cyan talking among themselves, most likely commenting on the new surroundings. Shock’s Ampharosite glittered on the front of his neck brace, and he looked down and poked at it with a grin. <Yeah, it’d be super cool if you could tell us some more stuff about these rocks. From what I’m getting, this thing is gonna make me crazy powerful, and i’m totally into that!>

Maple straightened his expression. “Well, I do have some information on Mega Evolution, but it’s not even close to Augustine’s nearly life long research on the subject. However, I have recently uncovered several things, or more so, one of the trainers I sent on their journey has.” He moved over to a packed travel kit, and pulled out a manila folder. He pulled out a few photos and showed them to Devon and Pent. They appeared to be Mega Stones.

“These Mega Stones were found by a trainer a few months back, they were found to be Mega Stones for Feraligatr, Typhlosion, and Meganium. Unfortunately he was unwilling to part with such rare finds, so I took pictures of them for research purposes.” He slid the photos back into the folder. “Also, my recent explorations have revealed that there may be even more undiscovered Mega Stones hidden across Viore, just as they had been in Kalos and Hoenn. I’m on the verge of a major breakthrough!”

Devon looked over the pictures, gasping and blinking at the stones. ”Whoa! That’s awesome! I have a few buddies back in Johto that have a Feraligatr and a Meganium! So all three of the Johto starters have Mega Evolutions……Cool. And there’s even more out there? Hoenn too? Aw man I gotta call up Jason later and tell him to go bug Professor Birch about this stuff!”

A soft gasp escaped Pent's lips as his eyes widened at the procured photographs. "W-What...!? That's... absolutely remarkable. Have you sent these to Augustine yet, Professor? I'm certain he would be as shocked as I am..." With furrowed brows, Pent looked down to his companion. After sharing glances, Pent looked back towards Professor Maple. "I... have a question, actually. Kalos has the Anistar Sundial, which has the ability to empower Key Stones. That said, I'm unsure if its effects would persist so far away. Would Viore happen to have a similar landmark?"

“Augustine was the first person I even told about them, and he came to the same conclusion that I have. If our theory proves true, it could mean every region could have hidden Mega Stones that have yet to see the light of day.” At the second question, he merely shrugged. “It is quite possible, there are a multitude of ruins spread throughout Viore, I’m quite certain that something like that could exist, just waiting to be discovered.”

A smile crossed Pent's lips. "Ah.... curious, very curious...." Professor Maple moved towards the door into the main lab. “I’ll be right back, I think we should have some refreshments for this, one of my aids makes the best lemonade.” He stepped through the door, disappearing into the back of the lab.

Pent's gaze followed Professor Maple's movements as he exited the room. Turning to Devon, a wide smile crossed his lips. "Isn't this exciting!? I'm sure Professor Rowan will be pleased as punch."

Devon took his ever excited grin to Pent, and nodded. “Oh yeah! He’ll go nuts for this! Dude, I wonder if any Sinnoh Pokémon have Mega Evolutions! Like uh…..Floatzel! Floatzel are cool. Oh! Since the starters in Johto have Megas, and according to Rowan so do the Kanto and Hoenn ones…..” Looking down to his right, Devon put his hands on his hips. Eye’s focusing on Quill. The Monferno was currently checking out a poster on one of the walls, that seemed to be displaying the digestive system of a Rattata. “I wonder if any of the Sinnoh starters can do it. If there’s a Mega Infernape, Quill’s got even more to look forward to with evolution! He’ll be such a badass! Right buddy?” Quill turned his head at the comment, strolling back over next to Devon and Pent. Crossing his arms, his eyes darted between both Shock’s Ampharosite, and Shinon’s Lucarioite. Mega Evolving…...Apparently, it makes you extremely powerful. Rowan said it may even change your typing and Ability…...Would…..Would it even be useful to me? I still can’t do any fire moves except for Fire Punch, so any bonuses to my Fire type moves wouldn’t be too helpful in a fight. Then again, I wonder if that problem is what’s holding back my second evolution to begin with? I hope not….. Finally the monkey-like Fire-Fighting type nodded at his Trainer with a smile. <Sure, I bet it would help alot. I could always get better….> Devon gave the Pokémon thumbs up, and tilted his head back up to see Pent. ”So you said you were here to look around the ruins right Pent? I might go take a look with you, if that’s ok? If there’s a chance that I could find Mega Stones for any of my other Pokémon, you bet I’m taking it!”

A warm smile crossed Pent's features as he looked to the enthusiastic teenager. "Oh yes, that was certainly my plan, and you're more than welcome to join me, though... it may or may not be the first thing I do here." Drumming his fingers over the handle of his staff, he looked down at Shinon. "There's actually a legend... or maybe it's more of a fairy tale. Well, ah, either way, I might be looking into that first. I cannot say I'm too familiar with Viore, even after looking at its map to say which would come first, logically." Closing his eyes in a wide smile he continued speaking, "Regardless, you're welcome to come along with, Shinon seems to like you. We might even find some Mega Stones outside of the Ruins. At Pent's words, Shinon attempted to convey to Devon using his aura that he was welcome to join them. Devon nodded at the pair, and shoved his hands in his pockets. A sort of headache sensation took the right side of his brain, and he heard some sort of clip, like a part of an incomplete word. Blinking, the teen rubbed the side of his head. The heck was that? Sounded like someone got cut off really fast when they were trying to say something…..Wait a sec, was that Shinon? Was that the whole sync stuff that Pent told me about? I guess I could ask? “Thanks guys, it’ll be fun having traveling buddies again! And uh….Was Shinon trying to talk to me or something? Or did the little voice in my head get duct tape put over its mouth?”

Looking down at Shinon, Pent blinked a few times. "Were you...?" The Lucario nodded, looking up at his Trainer. Yes, but it's going to take more time. Blinking with a somewhat astonished expression behind his spectacles, he then turned to look at the teen. "Apparently he was, yes. It seems it's going to take more time to be able to express himself freely. It's been a very long time since Shinon has attempted to communicate with those outside of our team." Devon smirked, and looked over the Lucario near the man again. “Really? Guess he does like me. Cool. Keep trying Shinon, I’m sure you’ll get it soon.” A smile crossed Shinon’s maw as he gave an affirmative grunt.

Professor Maple finally returned from the other room, bearing a platter of fresh Lemonade, as well as a few Pokédex’s. “As your Pokédex may not be up to standards in Viore, Devon, here is one for you. And Pent, you may find this quite helpful as well.” He hands them both a Pokédex and a glass of Lemonade. “Now I say a toast, for good health and safe journeys for everyone.” He raises his glass up into the air.

As Pent took the Pokédex and lemonade in hand, a wide smile crossed his visage. "Absolutely splendid! Thank you, thank you very much." Awkwardly, Pent tried to pocket the Pokédex while leaning on his staff. Shinon, foreseeing an absolutely disaster, took a hold of the Pokédex, tucking it in his coat for him. Now with a hand free, Pent stabilized himself and held up the lemonade in response to the toast. Cheerfully, he tapped Professor Maple's glass. "For good health and a safe journey!"

Devon’s eyes lit up at the offer of a new Pokédex, and grinned as he grabbed both it and the glass of lemonade. Shoving the device in his hoodie pocket, he looked back at Professor Maple and nodded. ”Thanks Professor. I guess the Sinnoh Dex wouldn’t get me very far in Viore huh? I’ll be sure to use it lots.” Finally taking the glass of yellow liquid firmly in his right hand, the teen held it high and tapped it against Maple’s glass as well. ”For good health and a safe journey!” Still keeping a firm hand on his staff, Pent clinked his glass against Devon’s too, for good measure.

Maple downed his drink, setting the glass on a nearby table. He took a Pokégear out of his lab coat pocket, and was shocked at what he looked at. “Oh no, it’s almost 3:00! My ruin dig team is supposed to head out in ten minutes! Sorry to cut the conversation short, but I have to make sure everything is in order and ready to move. It was good speaking with both of you, I look forward to our next meeting!” Maple waved goodbye as he rushed into the back room once more.

Smiling, Pent waved the hand with the glass at the Professor as he made his exit. Devon took a sip from the lemonade, and raised his free hand and waved it. ”See ya Professor Maple! Thanks for the help!” Taking another longer drink from the glass, Devon shifted his eyes to Pent near him. ”So, we gonna go hang out and look for Mega Stones or something? I’m up for whatever, I can just call ahead to Professor Rowan later about what I learned and I’ll be free for the rest of my two weeks here.”

Nodding, Pent made his way over to the nearby table, setting the glass down next to Maple's. Turning back to Devon with a smile he nodded. "That sounds magnifique. Allons-y?" Turning on his heel, he slowly made his way out of the lab. His partner Shinon, along with Devon and his team followed. Once outside of the lab, Pent heard the automatic doors close behind them.

Alfred Nora , Sonya Khalturin ,Proffessor Maple, and'Rook' Vaahn Alphine

Alfred had all but filtered out what the kids had been saying, except where the professor was located. He was in the Lab. As soon as those words reached Carolina's ears she was off like a bullet towards the lab, a speck of blue on the cobbles of the road. Of course, Alfred started running after his pokemon with a look of concern on his face. "Carolina wait!" he said between breaths. Sapphire was running after him and Lock was just appearing to be stationary with Alfreds movement, floating above his head, as they hurried towards the lab.

Scratching the side of her head and laughing awkwardly because of Alfred's lack of manners yet again. She would realy need to talk to him about this issue later. Sonya, on the other hand, was respectful and stayed to listen to the two kids until they left before she ran to catch up to Alfred. Though as she ran she couldn't help but smile because of Brent and his Cyndaquil. It reminded her of when she first started. Plus it was cool to meet a couple of new trainers from Johto, not that she had time to discuss anything with them.

Carolina, like a walking tank, burst through the doors of the lab. She was a free Amaura, small, pretty and definity adventurous. She walked over to a potted plant checking if it was anything she didn't know. Sadly, she knew it, and she let out a slight sigh as she continued to look for things to view, ever vigilant, ever watchful. A few moments after Carolina burst through. In came Alfred, Sapphire and Lock. Both were panting heavily as if they had ran a marathon. But they really were just trying to catch up to Carolina. Lock was just hovering over Alfreds head as always. Lock didn't need to show its true speed for such meager tasks.

In the back room of the Lab, near a rear loading dock kind of space, Maple was making a few last checks on the supplies they would be taking with them. "Hmm, okay, excavation equipment, check. Food and medical supplies, check. Shelter, check. Dig Team..." He peaked around the corner towards a group of people finishing putting some crates in one of their vehicles. "Check. Looks like everything is in order here, we'll be off any minute now... Oh, my bag, I must have left it in the other room I guess." He took off back to the main lobby, where he came to an interesting sight: An Amaura, a rare sight indeed, curiously peaking at every little thing in the room. Then he saw the reason why it was here, a boy, almost 18 at his best guess, was in the doorway. "Well, I must say It's never been so busy when I've been around."

Once she reached the door Sonya stopped running, took a deep breath, and finally walked through the door. To no surprise Lock was hovering above Alfred, who was panting next to Sapphire. And then there was Carolina, who was...Well she was everywhere. She hadn't really noticed the professor though. "Alfred! You shouldn't keep running off and ignoring everyone we meet! It's completely ridiculous, not to mention rude! Didn't anyone teach you how to act in public!?" Sonya started ranting still oblivious to the professor.

Alfred looked back to see Sonya who walked through the door. He was about to apologize to her for running on ahead after his pokemon. Yet she started yelling and ranting and him, much to his wide eyed face. Sapphire was on his side with the wide eyed look of 'What the hay.'

Professor Maple stepped forward, a standard Pokeball in hand. "Please, we don't want to disturb the Pokemon with all this yelling do we?" He looked over the two of them, they were a few years apart, but they just kind of worked together. He glanced over the boys Pokemon, now in full attendance. The Amaura, a Klefki above his head, and... Interesting, a Shiny Kirlia. "It's been a while since I've seen a shiny Pokemon, and one as beautiful as this surely is a rare sight. Also, I suppose you two are here for a reason?"

Blushing lightly, Sonya scratched her cheek with one finger. She didn't mean to be inconsiderate like that, it's just that her temper got the best of her sometimes. What he said about Sapphire was true though. She would do amazing in contests, though that didn't seem to be Alfred's forté. "Sorry sir..." Sonya said quietly while looking down at her feet, still a little embarrassed.

Alfred and Sapphire blinked a few times after their literally wided eyed fear of a womans ranting. So a few moments later after hearing the professor's talking and Sonyas apologizing to the professor, they both were finally back into reality. Sapphire spoke first. Her voice could be heard in the professors mind and In Alfreds and Sonya's. "Beautiful?" Then a few moments later "Nah!" The voice would be fuzzy, due to it being a strangers wavelength, just like it was with Sonya currently. Yet it was coming clear in Alfreds mind. It seemed Sapphire really didn't care for her appearance as pretty as it was.

"So yea, Professor, I guess I am here for a Pokedex, and a maybe, quite possibly, if you have a map of the region?" Alfred said as Carolina walked up to the professor and started tugging at his clothes. Lock meanwhile was starting to eye the professor with a sort of glee that only a child would have.

Maple patted the Amaura on the head lightly, managing to distract her from his clothes. "You have quite a lively bunch here. Give me a moment, I'll get some things from the back." As he walked into the back again, he checked the time. 2:55 PM, okay, he still had plenty of time, as long as he didn't get dragged into another long conversation. He grabbed a Pokedex, and remembered what he had said about the map. He looked over a few shelves, and finally found something that probably hadn't seen the light of day in years. He returned out to the front room with the items.

"I'm sorry, but I'm in a bit of a rush at the moment, or I would have gotten you some homemade lemonade for some refreshment. But here.. uh... I'm sorry, I don't think I even got your name yet I was in such a hurry. Whatever the case, here, this is a Viore Regional Pokedex, and take this as a gift for your journey in replacement of the Lemonade, I haven't used the thing in years anyways." Maple handed over the Pokedex, along with a very dust covered Pokegear, painted in standard blue. Maple looked over to the girl in the room as well, noticing the Pokedex in her pocket. "Ah, good, it seems you already have one, it saves me a little time. Now, If you'll excuse me, uh... again I've forgotten introductions."

Sonya gave a friendly smile before responding finally. "I'm Sonya, it's a pleasure to run into you this time Professor. Oh, and I hope this won't take too much of your time, but I was wondering if you might be able to help me figure out when the first contest will be?" She could only hope the professor would have the time to answer that simple question, though after bursting in here like she had, it's not like it'd be surprising if the professor said figure it out for yourself.

Alfred watched as the Professor fumbled around with a few shelves and returned with both a Pokedex and a old dusty Pokegear. To be frank Alfred never actually had a pokegear, didn't usually need one as Carolina always memorised routes for him. Yet it would seem useful if he hadn't traversed the unknown areas yet. So never the less he accepted the gift. "Thanks, Professor, I'll put both of these to good use. Also the name is Alfred by the by." He said. "This Kirlia here, she's called Sapphire." He continued . "Yup." Sapphire said in everyones head in response to Alfreds declaration of her name. "And currently we are trying to fulfill each of our goals." Alfred finished.

Maple nodded after the two introduced themselves. "Sonya and Alfred, I'll be sure to remember those. And that Kirlia of yours, telepathy is a rare ability, it may attract much unwanted attention. Maple thought for a moment, but it was apparent Sonya's question would be somewhat hard to answer. [color=7ea7d8]"I'm quite sure the Pokemon Center would be a good place to check, I can't help you much with that. That being said, I have a ruin to explore, so if you'd excuse me... oh, and you would be?"[color] Maple addressed the odd trainer far behind the two, being trailed by a Sylveon.

While the others had run ahead a bit, after somewhat ignoring the two kids who spoke to them all, Vaahn himself scratched his head as he looked at the two kids. "Uhm... Sorry, Seems they are a bit... busy... I shouldn't get left behind... I think..." He said to the pair before hurrying after the two others. However he stopped momentairily outside the lab, looking around the surroundings before taking a few quick notes about what he could see (the shape of the building and nearby objects of interest as well as any security he could see outside).

However he would then slip in slightly to the side and check it out as well as much as the construciton allowed at least. It seemed that the security had been upped quite recently, cameras and other things would certainly make any attempts to do anything here quite difficult. Thus he nodded to himself as he slipped a pokeball into a bush before he went inside. The two were already full on their way to harass the one who obviously was the professor and Vaahn himself mostly stood in the background as the others were drawing enough attention that he was, for a while at least, unnoticed. Inside there seemed to be a security guard and lab hands, stuff that would further make things difficult. Yet he went to take a drink by a water machine while waiting gently giving it a pat at the back when he sat his glass down. That way he could 'accidentally' leave a usb stick behind it before returning to the others.

The usb stick would then float away slowly along the wall, soundlessly and nigh hard to spot as it stuck to weird places. As he returned, it took a while before the professor seemed to take notice of him, and at that time he smiled slightly. "Me?... aah, My name is Vaahn sir, I mostly suspected that you wouldn't have time for me..." He said and glanced to Twix, who cheerfully bounced closer to the professor seeing how he gave out pats to other Pokémon. "May I ask where your adventures are taking you this time Professor?... I would have loved a chance for a pop interview for my paper... but if your busy I can fully understand" He said with pen and paper ready by his hand just in case he would get something to write.

"My, my, what an energetic and handsome Sylveon you have here. And yes unfortunately I do not have time to answer any questions, we are leaving any second now..." The professor answered, but not completely as one of his aides ran up to him. "Sir, could you come to the back for a second?" Maple nodded, hurrying away with the aide. When they reached the back, the aide told him what had happened. "Professor, it seems someone attempted to breach our firewall no more than five minutes ago." Maple scratched at his head, very confused. "But who could have done that... hmm, something is amiss in this group." He brought his goggles over his eyes, they were specially made for his expeditions. They allowed him to see in pitch black dark, and even identify Ghost Type Pokemon, much like the original Silph Scope.

He emerged back into the main lobby, looking around the room for anything out of the ordinary. To the rest of them, he may have looked quite odd, but there were methods to his madness. None of the three trainers in the room had done much of anything from what he could see, but perhaps... that young man with they eyepatch seemed odd, he didn't seem like the journalist type. He would have to be careful how he proceeded... Then he saw it, something was on the far side of the room, he could barely make it out... but it looked like... a Mismagius? With a data stick? Something was definitely not right, he brought out his Pokeball once more. "Rhyperior! Let's Go!" Maple yelled as he brought out his massive Rock/Ground type partner. "Alright, I wanna know right now who owns that Mismagius over there!"

"Huh?" Sonya blinked a few times heavily confused. After that she started to look around for the mentioned pokemon. "Um, professor...What Mismagius?" Sonya was so confused by the sudden and abrupt change in the professor's attitude, and quite frankly she was disappointed because she now had to go somewhere else to get the information she needed.

Sapphire was staring directly at a blank spot in the room. It appeared nothing was there but her budding psychic prowess allowed her to see the outline of a Mismagius, she shivered a little as she brought it to Alfreds attention. "Its" she began tugging at his trouser "There". She said inside of his mind as she pointed in the general vicinity of the Mismagius. "So one of us wants a floating usb stick, Honestly people can't you just ask?" Alfred said as he turned to face the only person in the room whom had the possibilty to be the guy who owned the Mismagius. "Sup Vaahn, how you doing buddy?" Alfred said to him, curious about why he was doing this.

Vaahn chuckled slightly as the Professor mentioned Twix's friendlyness but then right after that was slightly confused as the Professor ran off to do something with a lab aid. However when the Professor came back... "A Ghost pokémon? here?... how exciting... ooh wow... that's a well Good looking Rhyperior..." He said as he eagerly started taking notes about the situation, he even got so into it he had to pull out his camera and take a few photos inside. However his attention turned to the others when the Professor demanded that one of them were the one owning it.

However, Ishaala wasn't very pleased with the sudden spot light turned to her, or just about at least as it seemed her stealth attempt was busted. She smirked slightly however as she quickly threw a bunch of stuff around the room with her psychic ability and then simply melded through a wall and escaped in quite a hurry.

Vaahn ducked as a pot flew his way and crashed into the wall nearby, and then as he was about to get up he fell to the floor as Twix suddenly pounced on him from being scared. "Owch... Twix... calm down... I'm not made out of concrete or pillows you know..." He said as he reached out a hand to pat the pokémon while stuffing the usb stick away with a slight of hand into one of his sleeves. Convenient... or not, but he got up with the Sylveon in his arms even if the pokémon was quite huge and heavy. "... Sorry... Twix don't really like ghost types that much... but what could it want?... is it just a prank... or did it come here with some kind of intention?" He mumbled as he patted his Sylveon before looking to Alfred. "Hmm?... did you say something?... Sorry... I got a bit distracted by Twix here... " He said before looking around the room. "Wow... this probably could make a good headline... Ghost's In Proffessor Maple's lab!... during daytime no less" He said as he hummed to himself as he imagined the headline in his head.

As a few things still flew in their direction, Rhyperior grabbed a chair from running into Maple and the two trainers with him. A few books bounced off of his rock solid defenses, and finally fell to the floor. Maple looked around the room, and sighed, having lost sight of the Mismagius. At that point a few guards and at least half the dig team came running in hearing the commotion, among them a man who looked like an older Brent. "Edward! Are you okay? What happened in here?" Said the man with utmost concern. "Yes, I'm fine Leon. Rhyperior, go check around outside for that blasted thing, then meet me out back when you hear the car horn." The Rhyperior nodded and headed out past the dig team, having to take the back loading dock to get out.

After that, Maple and the others looked around at the mess made by the odd Ghost Type. What could that Mismagius have wanted with our data? And if it got any, where could that USB have gone? I'm so sorry all this happened, but anyways, I have a ruin to explore, I'll have one of my aides clean up this mess later. Safe travels everyone!" Maple waved at the group of three, then waved on his own group. The dig team followed him out, while the guard remained at the door now.

After watching the professor and his team head out Sonya couldn't help but frown. Out of confusion, but even more so out of annoyance. Not only did she have to through all this extra drama, she still hadn't got anything out of any of this commotion other than a slight panic from everything flying. Clearly the work of Psychic, but with no finese, no flare, no style what so ever. It was pitiful! The nerve of some people and their pokemon! How insulting. "Well now that that's out of the way let's go. Apparently I have to find a pokecenter, but we might as well do that in the next town..." The irritation in her voice was very, very clear. So with that she turned to leave.

Alfred shrugged guess Vaahn wasn't with the Mismagius. Even Sapphire hadn't seen where the USB stick had went. Lock knew but he couldn't see how this endangered anyone to bother telling. neither the less Alfred saw Sonya wanting to leave, so he just put his arms behind his head let out a sigh as his pokemon started trailing behind him as he follow Sonya out.

Vaahn looked to his two new travelling companions before letting his Sylveon down. "...Well... I guess its time to go then...." he said as he shrugged. He turned away from there and left with the others. He glanced around briefly as Twix picked up the pokéball in the bushes and ran up behind him with it. He stuffed it away and continued following the others. "Well... I must say that, this was quite an interesting experience..." he mumbled to himself, the others seemed a bit busy as usual causing him to sigh... but at least they got things done rather quickly...

Maple honked the horn as the truck turned onto the main street, causing Rhyperior to trot over to the truck as instructed. "No sign of that phantom?" Asked Maple to his faithful partner. In reply, Rhyperior simply shook his head no. Maple sighed, and returned the behemoth to his Pokeball. "Don't worry, we'll figure out who's behind this. For now, the ruins await us. Leon, step on the gas, we're late as is!" The truck sped off out of New Amber Town, heading towards the western part of Viore, to explore yet another of Viore's lost world.

Lily and Brent

After leaving New Amber Town far behind them, the duo quickly set to some small talk to help ease the boredom of the trip. "So, you grew up in Johto? My brother's been traveling there, he's a Pokemon Breeder. He's the reason I have Cyndaquil here." Explained Brent as he pointed to his fiery partner. "You may have met him or something, his name is Tristan. He looks kinda like me, but he's older, taller, and he wears yellow." Lily shook her head in response. "Sorry, never saw him pass through Goldenrod. He sounds like a really great guy, and a good role model." Brent looked up into the air, kind of lost in thought. "Yeah, I didn't get to see him much, but we had a ton of fun together... you know, I never asked you. Why did you move to Viore in the first place?"

"Well, my mother got a letter in the mail one day, saying that she'd been accepted by the Pokemon League as a Gym Leader. Unfortunately, it was all the way in Viore here. So after she left, we packed up the place and moved over here, we just got here today." Brent had a serious expression on his face, looking at Lily. "And you were fine with it? Just leaving the place you'd spent your life, all your friends?" Lily looked down, kind of depressingly. "Well, most of my friends had already gone on journeys of their own. I was gonna start mine, but I decided to wait till we got here. Besides, I've always wanted to see what it was like outside of Johto, and it's amazing so far!" Chikorita gave out a cheerful reply, agreeing with her. "So what about you? Where did you grow up?"

"Me, I grew up in Voltic City with my mom and dad. My dad is the lead archaeologist on Professor Maple's dig team, and my mother is a lead supervisor at the Voltic Power Plant." Lily looked over at him, with a somewhat hidden somber expression on his face. "So, you never really got to spend a lot of time with your family, huh?" She asked, and Brent looked at her and shook his head in reply. "No, but the times we were together... those are the moments I cherish."

The two kept chatting, learning more and more about each other. It wasn't long until they realized they had been walking for several hours. "Well, I guess time flies when you're with good friends, or something like that." Said Lily, looking over to Brent. "There should be a Pokemon Center a little farther ahead here, we can rest there for the..." Brent started, when a rustling in the bushes caught their attention. Struggling out of it was a little green and white dog-like Pokemon with wings. It nearly collapsed as it made its way out of the brush. "What Pokemon is that?" asked Brent, pulling out his Pokedex. "Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokemon. A rare Pokemon that some even consider Legendary, it can change its forme from Land Forme to Sky Forme using the pollen of the Gracidea Flower."

After a few more steps, it finally collapsed on the ground entirely. Lily ran over to it and, not sure what to do, carefully picked it up. Up close it was now clear that it was badly hurt and exhausted. There was more rustling as two more figures emerged from the bushes. This time they were people, dressed in some kind of supped up knight armor. One was obviously male, the other female. Each also had a visor and headset, which one spoke into. "Chief, this is Riley, we've finally got it cornered. No, no trouble so far, just a couple of kids. Roger, me and Shia will make quick work of them, over and out." The male, who identified himself as Riley, said through the headset. The female, referred to as Shia, stepped forward. "Look kiddies, just hand over the Shaymin, and no one gets hurt." As she said this, two more Pokemon emerged behind them. "A Fraxure... and a Dragalge... not good..." Said Brent in response.

"Aren't you two a little old to be playing with kids?" Asked a voice from behind a tree. The two knight people turned to find themselves face to face with another trainer, dressed in blue, carrying a red travel pack. He stepped from behind them, strolling between them and the kids. "You two, get that Shaymin to the Pokemon Center down the road, and hurry. As for you two..." He turned to the strange duo. "You wanna play, I'm game." He pulled out a Pokeball from his belt, opening it up to reveal a Feraligatr. The trainer turned to the kids once more. "Don't worry, this is nothing I can't handle."

Lily didn't even have time to think until Brent pulled her along, leaving the battle behind. As they ran out of sight, the two strange people tried to give chase, but were blocked by the Feraligatr. "Out of our way!" Yelled Riley, looking at the trainer, who simply chuckled. "If you can get past us. Let's play, Feraligatr." He raised his hand, touching the ring that was on his finger. The light connected with a stone held around Feraligatr's neck. The light enveloped the field.

As the two ran, something began happening to Lily's hand. As they neared the Pokemon Center, it finally became enveloped in a bright light, which caused both kids to stop in their tracks. They watched as the light formed into the shape of a flower, and embedded itself (painlessly) into Lily's hand. The light faded as soon as it had appeared. "What... was that?" Asked Lily, but in a moment was snapped back into reality, and the two continued running, now with more questions and no answers.

Ranger Union

The helicopter descended onto the helipad at Viore International, finally touching down near the terminal. It sported the logo of the Pokemon Ranger Union, and who else would get off but two Pokemon Rangers. Each sported a Fine Styler, showing themselves to be Top Rangers. New Amber Town's Officer Jenny greeted the two. "Rangers, welcome to the Viore Region. If only it could be under calmer circumstances." Of the two rangers, one was male, the other female. The male spoke first. "Thank you, Officer Jenny, I'm Top Ranger Aiden Rivers." The female proceeded to speak as well. "If things were calmer we wouldn't be here, I'm Top Ranger Lola Howell. We'll need to be caught up on the present situation."

"Of course, please follow me." Jenny waved the rangers to her car, and the rangers followed, and were followed by their Partner Pokemon. Pretty soon they were at the New Amber Town Police Station, in a conference room with Jenny. "For the past few months, an organization calling itself "Team Royal Skies", have been wreaking havoc across Viore. They've attacked numerous civilians, and even threatened officials such as Professor Maple and the Pokemon League. No one knows what they're up to, but they have to be stopped before things get worse." The two rangers nodded in agreement. "Is there any focal point to these attacks? It could help determine their next move." Asked Aiden. Jenny moved over to a small bulletin board, pegged with small dots. She pointed to the lower west corner of a map on said board. "The Triangle of Riviera, Dorado, and Lilac. That's where most of the attacks have been lately." Lola stood up, heading for the door. "If that's where they are, that's where we go, right?" Aiden nodded in agreement, and stood up with her. "Right. Officer Jenny, contact the Riviera Town PD, tell them we're on our way there." Jenny nodded, and the two rangers left the room.

Liza

The red-head's eyes fluttered as her digital alarm went off, filling the otherwise vacant room with the incessant pairs of beeping. Treecko, as it always had done in such times, simply looked into her eyes expectantly as she fumbled and finally slapped the tiny chrome button on her matte-black watch. The Cyan-blue light flickered for a moment, before fading into black.
Without even so much as taking a glance at the time, Liza stood straighter, stretched, and yawned as she stumbled her way to the closet. There was that briefing she was instructed to open, as per orders of Don Giovanni, hidden behind the locked safe.

1 - 1 - 3 - 0

Beeeeep. *CLICK*

Following the whir of the motors inside, the safe's locks clicked open. A pair of running shoes so she didn't have to dirty her brown slip-ons, a prototype Pokégear made according to stolen Sylph blueprints, and a badge case inscribed with a fancy R on the top. Liza hadn't intended on reducing a few of the senior members to tears with her story and purpose, and now she was paying for it. For all the discretion she wanted, being decked out in the latest, flashiest tech was a die-hard trait among many Rocket members. One of many quirks for being part of a criminal organization, one would suppose.

"Return, Treecko."

A brief red glow filled the room as Treecko was called back into the Pokeball. As important as it was for Treecko to have experience in battles and the like, Liza wanted the element of surprise for her first few battles. At least, until she could adjust to commanding Pokemon, as opposed to punching them herself when she was younger.
Just like that, she was out of the hotel room. No need to really grab a Pokedex or get another starter Pokemon; she had studied enough in school to at least understand type differences. The rest, as far as she was concerned, would fall into place with a bit of ingenuity and trust on her and her Pokemons' efforts. A smirk crawled across her lips as she walked out of town. She was going head-long into a suicidal procession, along a journey where hundreds, if not thousands, of Trainers ended up losing sight of their dreams getting caught up in other niches of life. Liza would not do the same, so long as any loss would equal the loss of something far greater than just a League.

Soon enough, her brisk pace carried her southbound, down Route 701, en route to Vertigo City.

Devon & Pent

Making their way past a group of three who were heading into the lab, Pent turned his head with a worried expression crossing his features. "I do hope they're able to make it in time…" Shinon looked over at the passing group with deeply furrowed brows. Softly, he communicated to his Trainer, One of them has a deeply troubling aura...

The crippled professor grew worried, letting soft words escape his lips, "A troubling aura..." The Lucario nodded slowly. It may or may not be a concern... though... hmmm... Shinon cut off his projected thoughts, now withdrawing into himself.

Waving off the concern with his free hand, Pent chuckled nervously. "Oh, well, he says this quite a lot. You know, there are many who have dark pasts, or impure hearts. Most of the time, nothing comes of it. Just because the potential is there, does not necessarily mean someone will act on it..." Devon nodded at Pent and Shinon’s observations, taking a brief glance at Missy floating near him with a smile. "That's true. Missy had a rough life before she met up with me and another friend of ours, but she’s a much better person now. Right Missy?" The Mismagius near Devon's shoulder looked off into the blue sky beyond them, lost in thoughts of the past. <Why yes... I led a rather... Let's say lonely life before I met Devon and Nasir...> Bringing up a smile, a soft bit of laughter escaped Missy's red mouth as she looked over the group. <I have been much better off traveling with Devon and his Pokémon. It's nice having friends.>

A warm smile distorted Pent's previous expression as his eyes went from Devon, to Missy. "I am certainly glad to hear that. While we were making our way here from the airport, Shinon did mention something about Missy, though... her aura is nowhere near as..." A frown crossed his brow.

Taking one last worried glance, Pent started down the steps, and made his way into New Amber Town. Looking around, his brows furrowed as he examined the area. "Perhaps I interpreted your map incorrectly, but from what I could tell, it's impossible to make it to the ruins directly from here without traveling at least a portion of the region. I believe there was a mountain range as well as a river that would make direct travel impossible. It seems we would need to travel south to Vertigo City... and from there I do not remember the names of the cities..." Devon reached down into his pocket, pulling forth his blue Pokégear and flipping it open to see the map of Viore. Eyes running across it, he spoke with a frown. "Shoot. Looks like it. If we wanted to get to any ruins, we'd need to go to Sahara City that’s way at the back Viore... Wait! Got something else!"

It was then when Shinon heard loud noises coming from inside of the lab. Turning around, the Lucario's fur stood on end, and his aura-sensing appendages began to float upwards. <Oh no...> After a few more moments, he held out his arm and closed his eyes.

Opening them, Shinon immediately turned to Devon's Mismagius, Missy. <Get in your Poké Ball. NOW.>

Knowing the Lucario's instincts were spot on, Missy hurried over to Devon, quickly phasing herself through his backpack, and returning herself to her Poké Ball.

Still alert, the Lucario continued to track several different auras before noting that the group inside was splitting in two, one of them heading their way. Pent's gaze turned to the vehicle as Maple honked the truck's horn, his eyes following as it took off. Once the truck was out of sight, the pair of Trainers began their trek towards Vertigo City. Though not entirely comfortable with the situation, Shinon pressed onward, following along with the rest of the group.

Sirina Wilkins

Sirina's father was on a business trip and she'd spent the morning on skype, talking to him over the phone. Of course, her mother had then had to drive her to the airport. She'd been mindless with worry, blurting things about being careful and taking care of herself, and finding shelter each night. Sirina had just smiled at her mother and calmly told her everything would be alright. Her mother had almost made Sirina late for her flight by refusing to stop gushing and hugging her 'little girl.' She could be a bit stifling sometimes, but Sirina had put up with it because she knew her mother was nervous about her leaving on a pokemon journey. She wasn't exactly the most mobile person in the world.. so it made sense her mother would be worried.

In the end, she'd just managed convinced her mother she would be fine and promised to call her every night before she went to bed, and went on her way. She'd only been allowed to have Nana out at the airport, the Arcanine was wearing a vest stating she was a service pokemon, and was keeping an eye on Sirina's supplies for the trip, which were hanging off the back of her wheelchair in a backpack. She hated having to keep Spud and Tamaki in their balls, but rules were rules. After an exceptionally long trek through security (they'd had to lift her out of her wheelchair in order to make sure she wasn't carrying any metal on herself), Sirina had finally made it into the plane. She'd allowed the young female flight attendant to wheel her to her seat before lifting with her arms and scooting herself into the seat in the front row of coach. Nana padded after her, watching as Sirina folded up her wheelchair and then stowed under the seat beside her. Nana leaped up to the seat beside her, perching on the chair as she watched her trainer closely.

The flight from the small airport in Northfrost City to the bustling international airport of New Amber Town was only about fourty five minutes. Sirina occupied herself by continuing to crochet a few rows of what she intended to be a scarf. As soon as they had landed, Sirina was helped off the plane first, Nana following behind her trainer and shooting other passengers accusing looks, delivering a couple of growls as she padded after her trainer.

It was sort of a tradition to have all new trainers who were starting on their journey to come to New Amber Town. Even though Sirina was not necessarily a new trainer, she was new at challenging gyms. To her, it was the stupidest rule ever.. that to start a pokemon daycare of her own, she had to become certified by getting into the pokemon league tournament. She wasn't a naturally violent person.. she wasn't sure if she could do this... but.. she had no choice. She needed to stop mooching off her parents eventually, and if that meant she had to fight her way through the region, then so be it. As soon as she exited the Airport, Sirina sent out Tamaki and Spud in a stream of light. Spud just stared at her with what she liked to call his 'resting derp face.' She pat him on the head and he made a very happy cry. After a long time of trying to chase his own tail, Tamaki grew bored and tired. He slithered up the tires of her wheelchair and perched in her lap, curling up and falling alseep as her body warmed the tiny creature.

Sirina stroked Tamaki's head, a tender expression on her face. Then she twisted her body, reaching around to the backpack hanging off the back of her wheelchair. She pulled out her phone, swiping until she had a map of the region before her. It wasn't a very detailed map... with towns and regions labeled but nothing else. She clicked on Amber Town, and the map zoomed. A detailed description of where she was, where to find food, how to find a hotel, and where to go scrolled down before her. She smiled as she found where she needed to go. She pulled on a set of protective gloves and started to wheel her chair. Moving up a large hill, she started to slow down slightly as her arms twitched. The extra weight on her wheelchair was straining her muscles. After about thirty minutes of sweating and pushing herself upwards, Sirina had reached the pokemon center. She applied the breaks on her chair so she wouldn't fall back down the hill, temporarily stopping to catch her breath. The air was nice and clear here, and much warmer than the air in her home town. Though she preferred the cool crisp air of her hometown, and the steam of the hotsprings more than made up for the colder winter nights. As soon as she'd reached the top of the hill, she had a good look of most of the town, and had located the exit out to the first route. Or so she assumed.

She wheeled herself down the hill slowly, inching so she wouldn't lose control and crash. It was honestly a bit harder going down the hill than up, and she had to stop and remove her hoodie as the hot sun beat down on her skin. She put the hoodie on top of the still sleeping Dratini and wheeled herself the rest of the way down the hill. She paused as she saw some trainers headed to the same route she was.. clearly starting off on their journey and on their way to Vertigo city. Or so she hoped. Gazing at the men, she judged one who appeared to be close to her age.. and the other.. slightly older.

"hello." She called, moving her wheels quickly to catch up with them. Her eyes lingered on the Lucario for a moment before she moved slightly closer. "Are you all.. headed for Vertigo city maybe?" her voice was sweet, and almost seemed to permeate with kindness.

In the meantime, Nana eyed the trainers with a suspicious glare, standing tall and strong as she plotted to get her trainer out if things got tough, and Spud had immediately sauntered over to the Lucario and was in the pokemon's personal space, surveying his megastone with a tilted head as if asking what it was. Tamaki stirred, raising its self out of the pile of hoodie, yawning and stretching its body. It gave a cheery hello to the two men before curling up in her lap on top of the hoodie, getting comfortable and laying out in the sun, its eyes drooping as it slowly drifted off to sleep again.

Devon & Pent

The disturbing aura still distracted the Lucario, Shinon, for a tic before he felt the presence of multiples. Turning to face the newcomers, he gave them a nod, his eyes trailing to the clearly protective Arcanine. After a moment, Shinon’s gaze met the wheelchair-bound young woman’s.

Using his aura, Shinon communicated to his trainer, It would appear this Trainer wishes to travel with us.

Blinking a few times, Pent wasn't entirely sure what his Pokémon was even going on about until she spoke. Turning to face the young woman, he blinked a few times while propping himself up against his staff. "O-Oh, my apologies I didn't even see you there... Hello! Yes, we're enroute to Vertigo City." His gentle brown eyes scanned the Trainer's Pokémon. He then thought to himself, She doesn't appear to be a novice Trainer? Though, that is a Service Pokémon...

Devon walked along beside Pent and Shinon uncomfortably, still wondering what the entire commotion with Missy from a few minutes previously was about. Staring at the ground, he frowned as his thoughts raced with questions. What was that all about? Shinon freaked out, and Missy got just as freaky…..I’ve never seen her just run into her ball like that…..There was Maple’s Rhyperior running around outside, did Shinon think it was gonna attack her? Why? What was it looking for? Then Pent spoke up about the girl heading their way, cutting off his train of thought. Devon turned his head up and spotted the wheelchair bound teen and her companions. Eye’s going wide. She’s in a wheelchair…...Just like Seva’s brother…..Jeez…. Finally shaking off the thoughts, the brown haired teen addressed the newcomer with a smile. "Hi. We sure are. You going the same way I assume?"

The Lucario let out a soft grunt, about to mention something to Pent when. A... Quagsire appeared before him? Blinking a few times, the Aura Pokémon looked over the slightly taller Water Fish Pokémon. It was clearly fascinated with his bracer, and he let out a sigh. Finally, he addressed the Quagsire in his native tongue, <Ah, hello friend...> Holding up his arm, he tapped at the Lucarionite with one of his pads, <This is a Mega Stone, used to initiate Mega Evolution. I'm Shinon, it's a pleasure.>

Devon’s own Pokémon walking just to his right looked on at the new faces, with Shock the Ampharos snickering as the large blue Water Fish leaned in over Shinon. <You making new friends already Shinon? How much attention are these rocks gonna get us?> Staring down at his own Ampharosite locked onto his silver neck brace, the Light Pokémon spaced out for a few moments before turning back up and waving at the girl and her team. <Oh, crap. Sorry. Hi, I’m Shock.> Quill, standing right next to Devon’s left leg looked over the other teen and her odd group of Pokémon. The Monferno crossed his arms, scanning them until he spotted the Arcanine glaring at all of them. Sighing, he addressed the other Fire-type. <We’re not dangerous if that’s what you’re thinking Arcanine. I’m Quill by the way.> Cyan was the most direct out of all of them, making a scene to Shock’s left by rapidly waving her tiny blue arms in front of her. The Marill had a wide smile. <Hello! I’m Cyan! Are you guys traveling around Viore too?>

Sirina Wilkins

A smile danced across Sirina's delicate features. "Yes. I am going the same way. I.. had sort of hoped to tag along with a few other trainers in the meantime. Mainly because of my.. inability to move around as easily... and because while Pokemon make good team mates, they don't make very good conversationalists."

The Quagsire squinted at the Lucario for a moment, tilting his head. <Mega Stone you say? And Mega Evolution? Ah. I remember my trainer talking to me about that. She said it was essentially like getting a fancy new hairdo. But i think she was joking around. My name is Spud by the way.> He scratched the back of his head, smiling cheerily over at the Ampharos as well.

<Spud. You get back over here this instant. We cannot trust them. They are strangers. They could try to kidnap Sirina and here you are just chatting to them as if nothing is wrong.> Her voice was sharp and lined with aggression as she continued to eye the pokemon in front of her with suspicion.

<Everyone... this is Nana. She's a worry-wort, and the team mother.> Spud leaned back with a dramatic sigh.

Nana let out a low growl. <I worry because someone on this team has to.> she flicked her tail to the side. <I was trained from birth to protect my trainer and my team. And you are my team.. and Sirina is my team mate. If that means not letting you greet strange pokemon.. then so be it.>

After hearing her growl twice, Sirina leaned slightly over to Nanza, reaching until she could pat her on the head. "Relax girl. I'm safe. Lay down." she chuckled. "Sorry about Nana. She can be a touch too overprotective sometimes. I guess it's her training. She will warm up to you and your pokemon given some time. Oh. And i promise you the most she will do is growl at you. Unless i tell her otherwise."

Nana grumbled and lay on her paws, still eyeing the trainers and their pokemon warily.

Hearing the explanation made by his trainer, Quagsire turned his attention to the Marill. He couldn't help but smile wider at the creature. <And to answer your question. Yes. My trainer wants to open a Pokemon Daycare. But in order to do so, she has to face the gym leader challenge. So.. here we are.> He nodded. <Oh.. and just so you all know.. The Dratini on the wheelchair with my trainer is called Tamaki. He's freshly hatched, so he sleeps a lot.>
Tamaki turned towards the newcomers, his eyes sleepily opening as he heard his name. He sleepily waved in their direction. <Hi.> he murmured before turning over to fall asleep again.

Devon & Pent

@Draconequis
At Sirina's mention of wanting to travel with them, a wide smile crossed Pent's lips. "Oh, yes! So I hear. Well, it's just the pair of us and our Pokémon, and you're certainly welcome to join us." Looking down to Shinon, the man hobbled over towards him to pat the Lucario on the head. "You say they're not good conversationalists?" It took him a few moments to remember that Pokémon don't actually speak. "Right, of course, ignore me."

Devon looked over at the strange professor and laughed a little bit. "Yeah. I guess so. I only know one Pokémon that’s good to have full conversations with…." His brown eyes then shifted to the Arcanine sitting near the girl, and nodded once the other Trainer explained it’s overprotective nature. Still smiling he continued, "That’s ok. Quill can be a bit touchy sometimes too. We’re friendly dudes, so you don’t need to worry. I’m Devon." The teen dressed in his dark red hoodie and gray sweat pants pointed down to the Pokémon gather near his feet. His finger resting firstly on the Monferno staring up at the girl. His point would travel around the group as he spoke each name. "That’s Quill the Monferno, Shock the Ampharos, and Cyan the Marill. My Mismagius, Missy, is in her ball right now. She's a little jumpy from something, so I'll let her lay low for the time being." Directing his gaze to the girl's face the teen grinned. "What’s your name?"

<A fancy new hairdo...? That Ampharos... Shock was it? Mentioned the same thing. It's... definitely a joke, but I suppose it's true in a few cases...> The Lucario was about to continue speaking when the agitated Arcanine spoke. <Miss... I understand your concern, and you should definitely keep watch of your Trainer as there are dangerous entities about, however we are not one of them. As I can detect the feelings of others, I would not associate myself with a sinister presence...> A stupid grin came up on Shock’s face as he leaned towards the motherly Arcanine on his toes. <You gotta learn to cut loose 'Team Mom'! We ain't bad! We're actually pretty cool.> At the Quagsire's introductions, the Aura Pokémon gave the group a curt bow. <It's a pleasure... I am Shinon, and my partner is Pent.> Quill nodded in agreement with Shinon, and turned his focus to the other Pokémon, smiling slightly. <Hi everyone.> Cyan's mouth went agape at Spud's explanation of his Trainer's mission. <A Daycare? Neat! I'm sure she can do it!> Shock then cut in stepping out beside Cyan and smirking. <Hold on, she wants to open a Daycare, but she needs to go beat all the Gyms just to be able to that? What does having Pokémon punch each other in the face have anything to do with watching babies crawl around?>

@Ninian

Smiling at their acceptance, Sirina nodded to his Lucario. "I'm guessing your Pokemon translates for you. I am actually hoping to befriend a psychic type and have it translate for me too." She turned to gaze at Nanza. "Heel."

Nana stood beside Sirina loyally, waiting for her to move as she'd been taught.

"My name is Sirina." Sirina smiled. "And Nana is the Arcanine, the Quagsire is Spud, and this little Dratini in my lap is Tamaki." She gestured to each pokemon in turn, wheeling slowly towards them. Nanza padded beside her, watching her trainer closely, only turning away as Shinon spoke to her. "What are you guys headed off to do? Competitions? Filling the Pokedex? Maybe you are going for the gym leader circuit?"

<And i am just supposed to take your word. A Pokemon I met a few moments ago? I am sorry if i am not all sunshine and butterflies like Spud.
Your definition of sinister and another Lucario's definition of sinister could be entirely different things. Not to mention good people can do bad things for a number of reasons. I'm sorry, but you and your trainers will have to prove yourself to me before i decide to relax.>
She shook her head. <That being said, I will not openly attack you or the others unless my trainer gives me the order.> With that, Nana turned her head back to focus on Sirina.

Spud tilted his head as the Ampharos, Shock approached him. <Not a human daycare. A Pokemon daycare. That means she takes in Pokemon of all ages, levels and genders. She might have to care for a Tyrannitar who some trainer leaves in her care for a well deserved break after fighting in the elite four. Or she might have to care for a Weedle some newbie doesn't know how to feed. She might have two pokemon.. say a Zangoose and a Seviper.. hanging out in her daycare.. they start to fight. She has to break it up. Or say.. someone leaves their pokemon and its upset. She has to calm it down, keep it relaxed until its trainer returns.> he nodded. <It has to do with her disability as well... the people she talked to essentially said that she would have to prove herself by getting to the league or else forget about her dream.>

Nana gazed back over at Spud, her ears flicking. <Well said, Spud.>

Spud beamed at Nana. <Told you i could be adult if i wanted to!> He stuck his tongue out playfully.

Nana just laughed, her shoulders shaking as she let out a wheezing sound. <Atta boy.>

Pent

@Draconequis
At Sirina's initial words, Pent flashed a smile. "Perceptive. Yes, he does indeed translate for me, most of the time. A Psychic-type would be a good idea, as for a few other Pokémon... off the top of my head some Ghost-types are able to speak through illusions, as are Zoroark. Of course, those particular instances only have limited evidence, and it's entirely possible those are exceptional cases..." Flushing as he felt Shinon elbow him he continued, "I'm rambling again, apologies..." Holding out his hand he smiled at the young woman, "Sirina, what a lovely name. I'm Pent. It's a pleasure to meet both you and your Pokémon partners." Gesturing to his blue companion he continued, "That is Shinon." With the dark-haired man's words, the Lucario attempted to communicate a basic emotion to Sirina, using his aura. That emotion, was a warm, welcoming feeling.

In response to her question, Pent glanced at Devon for a moment before turning to reply, "We're actually searching for Mega Stones. Well... and I wanted to explore Viore's Ancient Ruins..."

The stalwart Arcanine's reply caused Shinon's brows to furrow with some worry. <...I understand.> The Quagsire's explanation was intriguing, and the Lucario's ears pricked in the Mud Fish's direction.
