Sol Invictius
The year is 2120, Humanity has reached for the stars, massive fleets now rule the trade-lanes and all is well.
Or not.
In reality, that’s what your Earth Hegemony information tablet provides, but that’s all propaganda to keep control over the masses..
The waning Earth Hegemony is rife with corruption and failures of government, but a careful veil of propaganda keeps the entire thing from boiling over into outright revolution...
It is only a matter of time until things fall down.
Welcome, to the first fall of man.

OOC:
Welcome to Sol Invictus, folks. Where the galaxy is yours to voyage, or die in, either one. In this RP, you will trade, fight, die, run, or all of the above. You will pilot a custom-designed ship.
All terms on your ship MUST be realistic, such as movement speed in meters/second (m/s).

The year is 2640, and everything is well in the GLORIOUS Earth Hegemony.
Or so we think.
In reality, the Hegemony is falling apart. Worlds rebel every day, rebellions are put down daily by the massive cruisers controlled by mind-implanted Hegemony troops, keeping them (safely) under Hegemony control. Unfortunately, the constant rebellions and the general cost of running an empire is stretching the Hegemony’s resources quite thin, leaving most sectors (read: non-core sectors) lawless and without support for months at a time.
Warlords and pirates reign supreme, despite the attempts to keep them from rising up, entire systems have been taken over, and while there are not shortages of them, the Hegemony likes to keep control over assets they have put billions of Terran credits into.
And so, on the day the Earth Hegemony Privateer Act was announced by the Grand Senate, and shortly then passed with no votes against it, the Hegemony began to commission privateers, to act as a form of navy. Vessels of all kind, from retrofitted cargo ships, to small frigates joined the fleet, simply because it paid quite well...more so than being preyed on by pirates.
Unfortunately, you and your crew are part of this under-funded, under-manned Earth Hegemony fleet. Older ships are shoved to the side with the barest of crews and minimal maintenance, using jury-rigged parts or worse yet, used civilian parts in order to keep the ships running. No new hulls have been laid down in over sixty years. The system you guard is called 5645 Orionis...an important industrial hub in the Rim sector of the Earth Hegemony.

5645 Orionis is a G-type star located at the tip of the Orion arm of the Milky Way galaxy. An important industrial node sporting two inhabited planets, both in the process of being terraformed along with four cloud-scoops for HE3 production.
Venus-type: Charos
A blazing hot, tortured piece of rock that orbits close to 5645 Orionis, the surface is nearly molten on one side and freezing cold on the other due to the planet's minimalistic rotation; only a handful of scientific outposts exist on the surface of Charos due to the lack of atmosphere and insanely harsh conditions that any structure faces.
Mars-Type: Charity
Charity is a world akin to Earth aside from the red surface. Sporting a surprisingly oxygen rich atmosphere, Charity sported a unusually high gravity and higher radiation levels than Earth-normal, but was otherwise suitable for colonization. Charity is the oldest colonized world in the system, approximately 210 years old. It is the most industrialized planet in the system, sporting twenty large orbital industrial nodes.
Earth-Type: Truesight
Truesight is a world much like Earth, although the original ecosystem has been annihilated by Earth's fauna and flora. With a .8G rating and a almost zero radiation rating, Truesight is a unpolluted planet that perhaps, would be ideal for anyone who wanted to see what Earth might have been like before the growth of the Earth Hegemony destroyed it. Truesight sports slightly less orbital industry than Charity, with sixteen large orbital industrial nodes, as well as serving for the HE3 handling point for the cloud-scoops.
