@Fabulous Knight, the world will never be truly established or stable. We've a wild Vestec running around.

No matter how much we create, it'll always seem like we could create more before exploring what the mortals think of their current situation. Truth is, we've already got an interesting world in our hands, and I'd like to explore what the Hain and all of those guys live like before the introduction of humans.

@FrettzoI don't think so. It's true it'll never be "complete" -- but that doesn't mean it's full and bursting right now. It isn't. We're in turn two -- it's not that we're not done, it's that we've barely begun.

And as I said -- you don't need a system to explore that stuff. Just do it. If it's fun -- it's fun.

@DawnscrollYou underestimate people. The fact we are talking about this in the first place proves that we're capable of going outside our comfort zone.

Although if we're honest -- if it was truly outside of our comfort zone, we wouldn't be talking about it.

I don't see the point in arguing so much against it.

@FrettzoIt's the same point as arguing for it, no? Because I think that it's a bad idea if the focus is on long texts. Because people -- or at least, I -- have a limited amount of time I can spend on writing posts. I can't make megaposts. If I'm writing a lot about X god, I'm not going to write about my god and what they're doing.

Now I'm personally not actually bothered by this. I think I can accomplish both at the same time, anyway. My point is that other people (and myself) may not be able to, and so if this is installed it should allow a few paragraphs as a minimum.

Since the concept of this idea seems to be causing so much discord amongst members, let's drop it. If they're right, they're right.
If not, this RP will be the same as it was before.

I'm not holding my breath in the former though.

We're not an Advanced Roleplay, so going by the general rules of Casual Roleplays, you can write as little as two paragraphs and nobody can hold it against you. We never said it would be a mandatory event either, but I feel like you're thinking of it as such. Just because it's there and some people do it, doesn't mean you have to do it.

If you don't want to write for other Gods, stick to your God. If you want to write for other Gods but don't have the time to write long posts, write a two-paragraph flash piece about a caveman painting on walls.

While I agree we don't need the weekly theme, I believe it'd be much more fun, satisfying and organized if we instated it.

@DawnscrollI don't see much discord. It's pretty much just me (as far as I know), and...I'm just saying what my problems with it are.

How come you don't want to (or at least seem not to want to) allow small parts of posts?

@FrettzoYes, I know. I'm saying what I think needs to be emphasised in order for it to work, i.e. that it does not become the standard post -- or that it does not take up the whole post. I don't believe we have a developed enough world yet. And developing the world requires all of us -- or at least, most of us.

It's not about obligation. Like I said -- I'd like to do this.

Also, I don't mean "I will write two paragraphs". I mean "I will write seven paragraphs on my god, and then two on Zephyrion".

@Fabulous Knight I see what you mean now. It makes sense. I didn't understand it at first because my writing flow is different, so thanks for clarifying.

I see no need to mandate any minimum or maximum amount written if we go for this. If you want to make a short story or something that spans an entire post for Zephyrion week then go ahead; if you want to just call him a windy bastard and mention him a few times in a post that you had been planning to make regardless, that's fine too. So I suppose that puts me in agreement with @Fabulous Knight.

Since this isn't obligatory by any means I think we should go ahead and do it, though I'm not sure about offering a FP as an incentive to participate. Perhaps Kho or Rtron will want weigh in on that one.

But regardless, any thoughts on which character should have the honor of having the first week?

@CycloneHow about Slough?

Or we could draw lots. Just select someone randomly.

Probably a God known to the mortal world. Definitely not Astarte or Belru. The best candidates would be Slough, Zephyrion and Toun.

That's a cool idea. Encouraging us to make a post about how the mundane world sees a god will help add depth to our world.

Slough seems a popular choice, so I think she should be first. Counting the collab that I just did with Lugubrious as my musing on Slough seems like a cop out, so I might write some fluff in the form of a post from the perspective of an elemental.

I'm open to the feature week idea. Writing the Heel Scuff segment was fun and looping the actions of the various agents I have scurrying around into different perspectives will help break up these description-overload monotone megaposts I've been turning out, though I don't think it'll do much for the length problem.

This counts for perspective changes in general, but the feature week system is as good a formula as any to get started.

Eyy Slough gets the limelight! I'll participate in other weeks best I can. I have enough creatures to make taking one or more of their perspectives easy enough.

I'm procrastinating, and I accidentally a slightly crummy header.

I think I'll use this for vignettes of hain reactions to featured gods. Feel free to use if you like.

EDIT: Changed the hue. It was a bit too green before.
