Okay, I should clear some things up, and voice my opinions.
I mentioned the wheel because that was one of the things
@Hygswitch was going to do with her demigod. However, it isn't the only project she has, so it should be fair enough for wheels to be invented by others if its holding everyone back.
And sorry for my own slow pace. I have literally spent over 2 months trying to introduce the Bronze Age, but was constantly struck by setbacks (hordes of chaos. Slow collab writers. The original demigod player for the role disappearing. Having to write the collabs introducing the demigods). So for two months IRL time, both Teknall and his hero Gerrik have been stuck in a period of time probably not spanning more than two months IC time. I'm as exasperated as you all are.
I echo Capy's sentiment about Xerxes. Please. Slow. Down. At one post per day, with Xerxes advancing in leaps and bounds, while some of us are struggling to get one post a week over much shorter events, it is terrifying to think of how quickly you'll leave us all in the dust technologically. You have a nice big city. You have plenty of writing material as is without advancing a century of technology and society per post.
As for techs, the only technology that I've embargoed is metals, and that is because Teknall promised it to the Rovaick two months IRL time ago, Muttonhawk and I have been planning and writing it for well over a month, and introducing the Bronze Age is the primary reason for Conata's existence (at least initially). If other events (as mentioned above) hadn't interrupted the process, metals would have been invented a month ago (IRL).
(Oh, I also called dibs on agriculture for the Hain, because I need
something meaningful for Gerrik to do once he's finally free from fighting the horde. However, the Rovaick already have agriculture from Toun, so you cities can get it. I just want Gerrik to be able to introduce agriculture to the global Hain population)
For any other tech, provided the appropriate foundation exists, it's fair game, and always has been.
P.S. For those concerned, leather was invented by humans during the Phantasmogoria, a technology taught by Susa the Huntress. One of my plans is for Gerrik to spread the knowledge of leatherworking to the global hain population. But leather would have already spread throughout human settlements due to trade (another Phantasmogoria invention), and to other local tribes.
