That's a...cool idea. A weak demon made much stronger by a premade physical body. It'd certainly work with the whole theme of the occult. The interactions between souls and demons would be very interesting. I could imagine monsters formed out of half-demon half-mortals, where part of their soul has been returned -- but the rest is supplanted by demons. Perhaps they would hunger for more souls to fill themselves up with. But that would depend on whether Slough/Legion/Fretzzo were down with allowing that kind of stuff to happen.

Man, for reasons too obscure and shameful to explain, this guy is forever associated to me with an alcoholic Californian Catholic tabletop game developer.

Specifically ours, or just any within reach? Either's fine, tbh.

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss, that was truly epic. The fact that we can't access it gives it the air of legend - a long ago war between Thulemiz and Cavern things, where comets rained down and gods fought.

It's funny. You stop thinking about the stuff you wrote entirely and never remember it, but as soon as it returns to relevance, it's surprising how much detail you recall.

Thought exercise: In your own time, see how accurately you can remember the second character you ever wrote. The first one often has airs of nostalgia and is remembered more clearly because of it.

@Antarctic TermiteWhat, in general?

Uh, I guess that'd be Kheroh the High Priest of the Busque Theocracy. I don't remember a tonne about him. But...I don't think OC doughnut steel characters invented when you're seven count, right?

The second guy I made for a freeform forum RP was actually a god in an RPG along the lines of this one.

Gah, I can't remember the second, all my early characters kind of just...blur into one another time-wise. Don't know which came before which. The only reason I can remember the first is because I was using him in a story at the time and just randomly threw him into the first RP I joined (which only lasted a few days...)

I've been at this too long to remember XD

I can remember the first one I wrote. I think I can remember the second one, too, but I'm not too sure.

Anyway, Astarte's soul manipulation can be used to imbue things with souls. You could make golems who actually feel and think, or you could make really expensive undead!

@FrettzoOr you could make horrible soul-demon amalgams!

I've got an idea. Not only does a half-returned soul not contain the aspect of the element its missing, but it also feels a constant yearning to make up for this. To a simple necromantic soul, this might express itself through hopeless longing; a soul without Shadow might surround itself in knick-knacks and souvenirs from everyone and everywhere it visits, while a Soul without heart might surround itself with life.

But when you mix in a demon, the undead creature becomes much stronger, the same way concrete does with rebar. Its hunger also becomes insatiable. They feel a constant urge to fill themselves with something, anything, so they kill mortals and consume what aspect of their souls they're missing. But this isn't enough to keep them whole for long; perhaps the soul cannot ever truly be taken, and eventually Reathos takes it back from the amalgam's stomach, or it simply floats away.

Sound like something good?

Reathos will personally forge a knife to rip open that thing's stomach and take all the souls out of it.

Do you believe the wanderer of the OOC can still join this?

Did I respond to this? I can't remember if I did.
As things are, you're on the waiting list, along with four or five others. I'd say wait a bit until things stabilise in the IC, then we can work out how to incorporate you and the others without breaking the backs of us GMs
