Well no. Remember that this is still a spin-off of the Chaser RP. The only thing so far close to RWBY is the idea of the Academy and KoL's character.

Windel knows that Kurenai was gonna be even more direct than that, since I was going to use Ruby for her appearance. The only things that held me back were that I couldn't find a good pic of her battle dress without the Crescent Rose (obviously) and that I like Sekibanki, so that pic I'm using fell straight into my strike zone.

That said, you should know better, since Kurenai was actually made for Genesis, remember? Also, you are forgetting that her back story is ask but a copy of Kenshin's (look the video man!), last, I don't expect pretty much anyone to know that her fighting style was based off of Manji, from Blade of the Immortal.

Do, yes, she's a Ruby Rose expy, I won't deny it, but she goes a bit farther than that.

Lastly, if you find out what her name means in Japanese, you'll notice that it's a bilingual bonus.

I wouldn't say she was a Ruby Rose expy in anything but looks, and even that's debatable, and "speed" which, let's be honest, is a very common special ability. Personality is quite different, weapons are nothing alike and backstory is fairly different too.

Not really. This RP is an AU of the earlier mentioned RP so you won't have to know that universe's rules to play in this particular story.

It's not as much a TV Tropes reference as it's quoting them directly. Tropes aren't bad after all, you just have to learn how to use them.

Also, Kurenai is expy of Ruby Rose on the same level that Tomoe from Rurouni Kenshin (I'll never get over calling this Samurai X, but well...) is an expy of Rei Ayanami, meaning that during Kurenai's rebuild, Ruby was a very major source of inspiration, but not enough to be considered a clone character.

I get glad with someone making out her name's meaning (even though it's just matter of using Google). It's actually because she doesn't have a proper name, so her master called her by the color of her hair, over the time she got used to it and Kurenai became her "name", pretty much like Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail.

Lastly, you shouldn't worry about anything of this. I'm just a tad too nerd for my own good, so I can't help but chuck references and abuse my knowledge, but I never expect anyone to have the same basis as I, so you don't need to worry about these references. Above all else, my setting and characters are my own, even if they draw heavily from other fonts, they are just inspiration, knowing them might enchance your enjoyment, but is by no means required.

Hehehe, am I not awesome? *shameless grin*

Anyway, I'll use the word Manifestation, now. It's really just a fancy name for super powers, much like those you mentioned, but it should help with the story's "feel".
