"Just take your time, dearest" Larek replied. "These things can't be rushed."

Kos did so, changing into his shorts and a sleeveless shirt before returning.

Veax got his guitar and prepared some cushions for him and Hermia to sit on in the living room.

"You're the one who has to handle that, stupid laws and all" Orna replied. "But may I make some suggestions?" she added

"If only the could, I want to meet our child" Nyx said wistfully, "it seems so lomg away"

Sasha waited patiently

hermia smiled, coming into the living room and sitting down

"I value your opinion, so yes" tran said, "this Ihis as much yours as it is mine, despite the laws"

"...Don't hatching's take a while?" Ryland called after her. He wanted to get the grime off at least.

[Aristocles]

"We don't know how long its been hatching for, but if you really must bathe, do so quickly!" Aura said, running to meet her brother.

"Cherry-red!"

Caex winced at that. "The first thing my child hears shouldn't be 'cherry-red', dear sister" he replied, sighing.

Aura looked at the egg. "How long has it been hatching for?" she asked Avera.

"I want to meet him or her too" Larek sighed. "Still, it gives us time to prepare."

"Ready to go?" Kos asked.

"Is there any kind of music you want to hear?" Veax asked.

"Maybe we could raise some sheep? I hear wool sells for a good price these days" Orna said.

"It's only just started moving, I don't know how long before the little one hatches," Avera said.

Ryland nodded and took a quick bath, drying off and running downstairs.

"It does" Nyx agreed, with a sigh, shifting slightly "but theres only so much preparation you can do"

Sasha nodded, "yep" she said happily

"Nice and cheery" hermia said

"Sheep are easy enough to care for" Tran said, "they are a good investment, imdeed"

[Aristocles]

"It could take hours" Aura admitted. A bit later, she saw Ryland enter the room.

"I think we have everything we need" Caex said to Avera. "When the child hatches, I want you and Aura to examine the child. It's like... it's hard to explain..."

"Female instincts" Aura clarified. "Our eyes tend to focus on the little things, like if the child's skin is too reddish or if he appears uncomfortable. If something is wrong, we'll know."

"We have most of the things we'll need" Larek said. "Now all we need to do is to prepare our minds for it. And keep the place clean. My mother always went on a cleaning binge when she became gravid."

"How about we walk over to the pond?" Kos suggested.

"You got it!" Veax replied, and he began to play an upbeat tune.

"That and wool is in demand. A lot of dracons are making trips to colder lands, so wool clothes are useful." Orna replied.

Nyx looked around the llace, "its really clean at the moment" she said, "I'm already ready for him or her. At leastm I think so" she said musingly,

sasha nodded, "that sounds good" she agreed, starting out the house

hermia smiled, listening to his music happily. She always felt like she could just sink into it.

"They are" tran agreed, "so we get more sheep, expand a bit"

Avera nodded and took one of the clean cloths from nearby, setting it on her lap.

Ryland watched the egg and then looked around. "Should I make something for everyone to drink then?" He asked.

"If it's a boy, I'd like to teach him how to fight, but if it is a girl, I don't know. My mother taught my sisters dancing and some other traditionally female things" Larek said.

Kos led them to the pond, walking across the soft green grass. It was a nice day, with a perfectly blue sky and not a cloud to be seen.

After a while, Veax had finished his music, feeling a sense of tranquility. "How was that?"

"It's also something more for me to do" Orna admitted. "I'm not half as strong as you, so fieldwork isn't my thing, but I can tend sheep."

"Some water, but that's it" Caex said, his eyes still fixated on the egg.

Suddenly, a crack came from the egg and the tip of a tiny little snout could be seen.

"Here it comes!" Caex exclaimed.

"It would be incredibly unfair of me to know how to fight, and not my daighters" nyx said, "but they should know traditional things as well"

Sasha smiled. She loved it out here. It was, esssentially perfect. And walking always cleared her mind. She sighed happily.

"Brillant, as always" hermia said

"Eell, then, its settled then" Tran said, "I'll see about more sheep in the next few days"

Ryland got some water and sat nearby, watching and waiting, jumping when there was a cracking sound.

Avera leaned foward and smiled as the crack grew bigger. "That's it little one, almost there," She said softly.

Aura took Ryland's hand, not quite knowing how she felt. It was a mixture of hope and joy, but also eagerness to have a child of her own, and soon.

Caex was transfixed on the egg. "It must be a strong hatchling to get out that soon" he said to Avera, just as a tiny foot broke through the shell.

"I think every female should know some basic self-defense" Larek added. "If we have a daughter who is like you, that shouldn't be a problem."

Soon, they reached the pond. "Want to go for a swim?" Kos asked.

"Thanks" Vaex said, secretly feeling like she was giving him too much credit. He was getting better at raising his self-esteem, but he had a way to go.

"Thank you" Orna said, giving him a hug.

Nyx laughed, "yeah but I'm not normal" she said, gently running a hand down a scar, before resting it gently on her belly. She stood, restless, to clean up the breakfast dishes,

"A swim sounds nice" Sasha said, the water nice and clear, looked inviting.

"Your music always puts me in a good mood" hermia said, quite honestly.

Tran returned the hug, "anything for you"

"You're so much better than normal" Larek assured her. He helped her with the dishes. "And if you want scars,my father has quite the collection too. I guess that's almost expected of males, though. At least, males who've been to war."

Kos took off his shirt, then put a foot in the water, testing it. "Water's nice and cool."

"I hope it does. I'm in a good mood now, and I play how I feel" he said, smiling.

"Just keep this farm running well, okay? I'd like for us to have a lot to pass on to our children one of these days" Orna said.

"As opposed to generally clumsiness like my own" Nyx said, putting the dishes away, sighing because she couldn't think of anything else to do now, but not wanting to sit down idly.

Sasha nodded, putting her own feet in the water. "Perfect"

"That's great!" Hermia said happily

"I will" tran promised "it's running well, and will prosper. We will make it so"

[Aristocles]

"How about I give you a back rub?" Larek suggested. "You're still carrying the egg and I'm sure it must be weighing on your spine."

Kos turned to Sasha. "Do you want to race to the other side of the pond and back?" he asked, knowing that female dracons were usually better swimmers.

Veax got up and stretched. "Want to help me feed the chickens? I know its an odd thing to ask after listening to music, but there are chores to do."

"Good to know. Not every harvest will as good as this one, so I want us to be prepared" Orna explained.

Nyx stretched slightly, "I haven't really noticed it. But sure" she said

"A race sounds perfect" Sasha said with a smile.

Hermia nodded, standing up, "sure" she said. She liked to do things with Veax

"We will be, a good farm doesn't just rely on the crops, but the animals as well" tran said

[Aristocles]

"I'll get the lotion" Larek said. "You just sit down or lie down wherever you want to."

"Alright. On three. One, two, three, go!" Kos exclaimed.

They went to the chicken coops, where several bags of feed lay in wait, along with dozens of birds and a chicken swing that Veax had installed a few months ago.

"Speaking of which, I've been giving some thought to getting a pet" Orna said.

Nyx nodded, sitting down, squirming to get comfortable. It wasn't easy, as she would get comfortable, then sigh, cans shift.

Sasha grinned diving into the water, swimming quite easily through it.

Hermia smiled, enjoying the sun. She went over to a bag of feed, hearing the chickens cluck
