BUt do you know how /bad/ the sound from a poor violin player can be? I mean, it's /far/ worse than the sound of a bell. But now I see someone coming in, knowing how to play, and serenading Kharlee with a skilled rendition of some song. <3 Ah, but there's a reference to the guy from the Devil went down to Georgia. *flails*

I do think that monsters work under other monsters. I mean, there's things they wouldn't trust humans to do, or positions humans just can't fill. Though maybe Azura just hasn't encountered any of them. *shrug*

A Brief History: Mason grew up as the son of a slave to the races who thought they were better than the humans. Mason always hated the creatures that returned so long ago, despised the way they treated humans as a commodity, as pets... as nothing more than entertainment. He had a deep hatred for them, so deep in fact that when he was in his early 20's, he spent a lot of time out at night until dawn. That time spent was used to deface property owned by the monsters, actively protest and cause all sorts of destruction in the East and West end districts of Eclipse. One night, he was caught and tortured, losing the use of most of the right half of his body, including his arm, leg and eye. A small group of rebels that followed what he stood for rescued him and killed the monsters that held him captive. This small group kept their identities hidden and their employer a secret as well, but they fixed Mason… Replacing his broken and useless body parts with new bionic parts. His new arm capable of shifting into a high power energy cannon that functions by absorbing sunlight, his leg houses a compartment for a small handgun and his bionic eye relays information to him through a digital media server that seems to be owned by the monster that sit in a much higher level than the commoners that Mason normally dealt with. Both the arm and the leg were covered in a high quality synthetic skin that resembled human skin, and his eye was dyed to match the iris color of his other, functioning eye. Much of the rest of the right side of his body was repaired with synthetic tissue and replaced with harvested human organs.

For whatever reason, these rebels and their master wanted to keep this young freedom fighter alive and use him for something… all he remembered once he came to was that he was a different man, and that he had a mission to topple the elders. He spent his time after his repair to keep fighting and causing panic among the monsters of the West and East ends. Mason eventually found that people were following him, people who harbored the same hatred and distrust. People who were tired of being used and tired of being abused. Mason started a revolution, created a voice for the humans, one fueled with the rage of the human spirit. Mason wasn't sure how to lead them, but he knew that he was the one to unite the humans against the tyranny of the fattened monsters in their high seats of power and authority. Much of Mason's acts after the forming of the rebellion were mostly graffiti and starting riots in the streets of the West End, never letting a monster see his face while he was out, leading a life of secrecy and keeping his rebellion as an underground movement in the slums, gathering more young, hateful humans to finally rise against the Elders.

Other: Mason keeps a black and white plaid bandanna in his back pocket and usually carries one can of spray paint and a few Molotov's in a backpack. He keeps these on him to start riots where his members of the rebellion are to incite chaos and cause disorder. His right arm and leg are covered in a synthetic skin that looks and feels a lot like real skin, the most telling sign that the skin is real is the lack or heat that it gives off. The gun within the compartment of his leg is also accompanied by 3-4 extra clips.

After much umming and ahhing, I present:

Name: Erasmus Murr

Attire/Appearance:
Bearing every inch of the quintessential grace of an elf, Erasmus stands rather short for one of his brethren at 5’8, with a wiry, athletic body that promises strength without bulk. His eyes are an unremarkable blue-grey that permeate an air of apathy that can conceal any intent behind them. His wispy, brown hair is kept well maintained and swept back, exposing his long, pointed ears with a suggestion of arrogant vanity. When in public, he is always well-dressed, reinforcing his reputation and image as a host, entertainer and well-meaning member of the high society.

Race: Elf

Gender: Male

Occupation: A patron of the entertainment sector, Erasmus owns a number of establishments spread throughout the various sectors of Enigma with a particular favouritism to the entertainment district. However, the crown jewel of his portfolio is the prestigious Ignus Fatuus club in the North End, where many of the affluent and powerful of Enigma are known to be frequent. Beyond this, Erasmus is primarily focused on mingling and interacting with all walks of life, in the process forging connections and gathering all manner of valuable information.

Mostly North End, but is known to venture elsewhere to his establishments.

A Brief History:
Born into a high-class socialite family, Erasmus was an old-money kid given the best education and upbringing that money could acquire. As the only child of two prestigious families, his future was always secure and his ambitions high, with little seeming capable of curtailing his ascent to greatness. In school he was brilliant and all-conquering, socially he was well-liked and internally he struggled under the yoke of his forebears' glory.

This system imbalance could not continue to exist without consequences and before too long there was a trend of substance abuse and rebellion against his parental figures and all they stood for. Multiple trips to and from rehabilitation did little else than to empty the chequebook of his parents, something they always lamented but never ceased, always believing in the ascendant star of their child’s future. His mother passed first, taken by the ravages of an illness discovered too late, leaving his father to be withdrawn and broken by the loss of his life partner.

This descent into the shadows by his father, allowed Erasmus to emerge into the light in his own right, utilising the family money to become a patron of the people and a socialite in his own right. Soon the Murr name was associated not with his patrician parents, but with the charismatic young son who openly flaunted friendliness and favour. Over time, the name lost its aristocratic prestige that it was held in the old-money society but became synonymous with that of the fame in the contemporary society.

Entertainment became both his industry and his hobby; where once substance had been his way to find joy, he now found it in the reaction of people to various stimuli that he threw their way. His vice and his business became both one and the same, culminating in the Ignus Fatuus, a place to truly quench his vice along with extend his social leverage beyond that of what any member of his family had ever attained.

Other:
Despite his patrician ancestry and affluent status, Erasmus bears no position on the current division, preferring a removed place to observe the world as it expedites along it’s chaotic harmony.
