Speaking of Green Arrow, what's everyone's 'prime' version of the character? Which era of the comics/cartoons/tv shows has the version of Green Arrow that you think of whenever the name is mentioned?

Justice League Unlimited or I suppose Longbow Hunters-era Comics. I became interested in the character when he was a playable character for Justice League: Task Force (1995).

Not so much, although I think they're a better tv couple than a LOT of others. No, my issue is more with my utter loathing and pure hatred for Arrow's version of Laurel Lance who needs to be murdered by as many different cannibals as possible before being buried in a mound of my hate mail.

Ahem, I'm not quite as against her as I used to be but I don't want that romance to pop up ever again on Arrow.

Fair enough. I'll stand behind that non-ship. Because I too hate Laurel (Arrow). I yell at her everytime she comes on screen. It bothers people who watch the show with me. But I have no cares. :D

I think Katie Cassidy is doing her best with a character they made way too repulsive in Season 2, she's been improving and has really benefitted from the lighter tone of this current season...but she doesn't really have good chemistry with anyone. Her best performance (in my opinion) was when she cameoed on Flash last year.

(Basically my problems are with the character and not with the actress.)

My problem is with both. Honestly, a good actress couldn't have saved the CW's writing of the character and Katie is if not bad a very bland actress with no presence or dynamic.

@Lord Wraith I want Thea to get her own show, she's been so good that if they ever needed to get rid of Ollie I think she would be a great choice to replace him as Green Arrow.

This is sometimes what's good about not knowing a character before you see them on screen. You don't get mega-disappointed due to expectations... as you have none.

It's a double-sided sword not knowing it being a bad interpretation, I guess. If your first read of Doctor Fate was in the UDC RP was the one where the player melted Fate's helmet into a sword... well, you get the point.

Personally I prefer Cold and Ray Palmer. I thought Sara was a lot better before Nyssa was introduced. Now they just seem to use her for romantic subplots.

@Sep Tbh I love the Arrow stuff regardless :D I've been waiting for years to get the comic tv shows we're getting these days, all in the same world, interconnected and showing the actual costumes rather than just...coloured hoodies. Love it!

@Lord Wraith I see your point but I disagree on her only being used for romantic subplots. Nyssa's been much more of a victim of that, her whole motivation was 'you are/aren't my beloved' for a while. Cold is very enjoyable, I won't argue with that, as is Ray, tbh the whole cast have their good points but it's very clear who's been doing their characters for longer. I'm not a big fan of their take on Vandal Savage though. He doesn't seem 'powerful' enough to me. Too smarmy.
