To wit, @ReaptheMusic, it looks like @Crimson Clover hasn't been online in a few days, whilst @Eirene and @Larfleeze have been on relatively recently, thus having not much excuse, and @Yuritopia hasn't posted at all in over a week. So basically, if you want to call in people to replace some guys, ask about Crimson and Yuri replacements.

@BCTheEntity Your post is excessive. These are students. Not Masters. And honestly it's very hard to keep track of what is happening with your writing style. Turbo happened to mention 20 grimm in their post. Is that right? Because even Yang didn't take on 20 Grimm at once.

@ReaptheMusic Now, my initial reaction to your post was "yeah, I figured I might have gone a bit hardcore on that front"... but then I remembered that all four of the initial RWBY trailers depict events that are considered to be canon within the setting, including the RWBY "Red" trailer. And you'll notice in that trailer that Ruby, who in my mind could be anywhere from a month to a year younger than when she first appears in Volume 1 if we assume that "Red" happens before "White", "Black", and "Yellow", slaughters upwards of thirty Beowolves with pretty much no trouble. Yes, they're Beowolves, the design changed.

With that in mind, consider that Vladimir is seventeen, two years older than Ruby as of V1E1 and moreso as of "Red", with a presumably corresponding increase in both the power of his aura and the amount of time he's had to train - and I note that while Ruby did probably start training from a younger age than Vlad, such that she'd probably had more training overall than him by V1E1, it has not been for her entire life, given that Qrow once had to save her and Yang from being killed by Grimm, so the difference probably isn't entirely insurmountable; she also would have spent two fewer years than usual (and hence Vlad) in an official training school, given that she was an exceptional case in terms of her age and when she joined Beacon, whilst Vlad clearly isn't. Add in that Vlad is more than accustomed to fighting sans Semblance use, since he only discovered it a year ago as of game start and has deliberately held off from using it since then, only bringing it in for an actual fight to put his adopted brother in a coma, and I figure that dealing with twenty (one) Beowolves shouldn't be that much of an issue for him.

Having made my point on that issue... yes, I apologise for the chaotic combat setup. To be fair, fighting large groups of enemies does tend to be a naturally chaotic endeavour. Would you like me to break that post up into more paragraphs, or is there another way of making it easier to read that you'd prefer me to utilise?

COMBAT

Weapon: "Jet Stream": Jet Stream is a set of two black submachine guns with a red trim, which can transform into twin wakizashis for close range combat. When not in combat they collapse into his sleeves for easy concealment.

Semblance: "Sonic Boom": Chen teleports in a flash of black smoke up to a range of 20 feet in any direction. He must know where he is teleporting or he runs the risk of teleporting into a solid object, which would obviously end badly. Two seconds must pass between uses, wait time gets longer as he runs out of energy.

Dust: Keeps a few clips of Incendiary Dust bullets at all times.

Skills: Chen uses an acrobatic fighting style primarily focused around dodging and redirecting attacks rather than blocking them. He focuses on staying mid-range and peppering foes with bullets, teleporting into melee range when he sees an opening. Is more suited for taking down slow targets and goons rather than powerful opponents. Works well in a team, not much of a leader.

Background: Chen was born in Atlas to an Atlas pilot and a no name village woman, the pilot abandoning the woman as soon as he found out she was pregnant. The woman hoped to start a new life outside of Atlas and immigrated to Vale to find something new. Chen grew up always watching the sky, hoping to one day fly through the great blue and find his father. As Chen grew older his mother would tell him stories of the daring feats his father would perform, but never told him his name. She would instead call him "Z", though she never explained why. As he grew older he abandoned his dream of meeting his father, becoming aware that his father wasn't as great of a man as he believed, but never gave up on one day flying. He joined Beacon to become a Huntsman and maybe because he liked how high up Beacon was in comparison to the town he lived in.

Character Theme: Chen is loosely based off of Zephyrus, the Greek god of the west wind. Zephyrus is also the god of the spring wind, which is why I made Chen such a happy and jokestery person. In Zephyrus' stories he's also shown as a womanizer which I included in the form of Chen's father. And finally Chen's nickname "Z" is an reference to the first letter of Zephyrus.

Other: Jaune is not best, Ren is best. Ren will always be best.
