That is true, but I've yet to fire a projectile. And a 92% sync will be able to handle the added equipment better than 67%. In combat the experience rating allows me to, basically, force my werk to do what I want and see the flow of battle. I can still radio and advise on the flow without the fancy equipment and now I won't have to struggle with added equipment. I stand with my decision.

All that being said, @redbaron1234, you have 3 days to propose your load out and get it approved and post IC that you are volunteering.

There's more to a battle than just raw numbers and OOC info. Think, for a second. Zim has been with the crew for a longer time, garnering some trust and has had experience fighting Cruxi before. He can gauge what they're capable of and tailor his kit to that, something that red's character can't do without breaking character. And even if we do look at raw numbers, Zim's total (167%) is higher than red's total (139%).

Also, if Zim would have trouble with equipment, how would Krista feel? It's her first real battle with little experience and using foreign equipment, on an infiltration mission which is already harder than normal.

If we're talking about strategy, your argument doesn't hold up. Just be honest and say 'I want it, but if someone else wants it I don't want it' instead of flimsily trying to veil it behind strategy, because honestly Zim *is* the best choice for an assault pack, alongside Sigma.

Rule of fun, people. Overthinking things doesn't lead to anywhere, I think I proved this with firing off Atty's core at Rostosov's remains and creating a big, dumb explosion.

And then I just call the Assault Pack so I can charge into things with the shield up and the extra boosters active for MAXIMUM RAMMING POWER

See, this is the kind of discussion I've been wanting to cultivate by putting it up in the air like this. I want us to discuss strategy. Realistically, the general plan would be laid out in advance, it was touched on lightly when Ritsu recommended an infiltration, rather than a frontal assault.

Now if we go at this with an intent to destroy outer defense turrets then whatever plan we had to infiltrate is ruined because the second we start blowing up turrets, the fireworks start. If we can stealth in, skirt past those turrets and only engage when we have to, use diversions, etc, like an actual infiltration mission would, then I, at least, need to change out my assault pack to better fit the profile of the mission. Instead of a shield generator, a stealth field, instead of the rifle shooting damaging rounds, using emp rounds, etc.

Let us design a general plan of attack, then pick who uses the packs, and design the packs around that mission type. Because my currently approved assault pack is intended for, relatively, maximum damage. That will work if there is going to be a decoy party left outside to draw the attention of the defenses while the rest of the group is inside setting to work rescuing and capturing. It will be pretty useless if we are intending to all sneak in undetected and only fighting if we have to.

I, for some reason, just pictured Paladin and Ribasu (Because those are the heavy mechs I know of that are in this.) Trying to tip-toe behind everybody in a base. This image amuses me immensely.

At this point if I ever get a second primary system (highly unlikely) it might as well be more boosters

And the second secondary is also more boosters

Did @Gate Keeper die or something?

He left the RP temporarily, and his character is working directly under Lorenzo now.

Also, regarding the discussion on the assault packs, I intended them to be used by experienced pilots. While it is possible for red's character to be approved one, it would be unlikely in-universe.

At this point I imagine your Frame just tearing past as a blue blur, with the words 'You're too slow' being heard all around.

If he gets this many boosters, I demand he re-name his frame to Sonic.

Alright, I took the pack.

We have another 2 weeks for the deadline to post, anyone want to get a collaboration in? I'm thinking a quick simulator session, cause, you know, trying to get used to the assault pack. The focus does not need to be on combat, in simulation or not.

If we can get a sim session with the Sarge to get used to the packs, I'm in!

Ugh. Still here sorry. Been busy lately or...really, depressed I guess. Hadn't been in the right frame of mind for some reason lately.

I'll try to get a quick post out soon saying that both Jake and Mai were looking for Paladin to see if they could help him talk to Ariin through the framework if that was the general plan.
