I suppose I'd best make it clear since two people mentioned this...

Eliz is still on an adventure. She'll be back at the start of the next season. @Wernher is going to get a PM concerning the trek into Stormpeak this week (I plan to send it tomorrow), and then after I've sent that off and gotten a reply I'll incorporate that into the next post.

@Jangel13 Dunald makes a good point in babbysama's post. They've got their own ways of getting water. You COULD draw it toward them and make a pond, but it'd still be in your territory because to make it reach THEIR territory you'd have to dig uphill for a long time.

I mean, it's a nice idea on the surface, but in the end you have to balance cost vs. rewards.

Also, note that repaying favors isn't a super hard thing to do. A gift of 14 goods or 14 cattle might be enough to repay a favor if a good diplomat delivers the message. Or they might ask us for knowledge of a ritual, or of a blessing, or of a quest. Etc. Another case might be warning Clan Gearalti of an attack headed their way, or letting Gearalti warriors pass through your territory to attack your neighbors.

Speaking of which, I STILL haven't written up your blessings. I'll get back to you folks on that.

Oh I thought repaying a favor was much harder then that. I still say we go with the pond but send me of with a few goods to grease the wheels so to speak. Still repay the favor and they would help make or own pond for extra water.

Yeah, a favor is literally just that: a small favor you give to help each other out. I scratch my back you scratch yours sort'a thing.

Favors can develop when you help someone out in a time of crisis, or even as a form of "payment." I.E.: "Hey, we can't afford to give you any cows right now, but NEED some food. Let's owe you a favor, eh?"

I'll keep that in mind for future reference but I'm still going with my pond idea and some items to pay back their previous owed favor

It seems a lot of our options are going to require a hefty amount of man power

I can think of several that wouldn't, but my lips are sealed. A couple good options have been noted. But digging a ditch to divert the flow is a good idea. Your high-manpower plans have a chance of working, too.

I'll note that there are actually a few spellcasters in your Council, and there are God-Talkers to appeal to as well.

Serhiem did want the god-talkers to see if anything was causing this. That one I am not leaving up to choice

I think a dike would be a lot better than a wall, since it gives us altitude and thus knowledge of wider swathes of territory (if it's built high enough, of course), and could easily be made defensible with the addition of fortifications, along with the benefits that dikes grant (higher volume of water and faster running water in general---harder to find fords and thus more difficult for would-be besiegers). But it's up to you all.

@Shorticus And thanks for posting that little tidbit about Eliz, I wrote that post while I was in class (lel) so I didn't have a lot of chance to look around. I've edited some of the errors and made it a bit more readable as well.

What does everyone think of Dunlad's proposal?

Yay! Agreement with the chief! I must being doing something right. But we do need a short term solution for now which will allow us to better make the dike. Though, I am playing the part of Serhiem, he wishes to invent. Have things constructed! Have a better life in the long-term.

YOU'RE HORRIBLE!

Not really.

I'll say that your plan has the least flaws. I'll also had this: after this turn, I as GM will give you folks less advice like the sort I've been giving. I.E, I'll avoid saying "heeeeey that might be a bad idea" and just roll the dice. I don't want to make you folks feel like you can't try doing interesting things.

But how can we come up with an idea if e don't have your input. We need ask the information we can before making an informed decision after all

Maybe? I do know I'll try to be less intrusive with my advice at the least. But I feel like you folks are pretty smart and should be getting a good idea of what to think about when debating proposals.

Eh might as well ask, can we get a weapon out of the dragon horns? Either way I think we should make use of it, we're not strong enough to be holding potential tools in a museum imo. As for Dunlad's suggestion I'll say yay once I get a post up, I suggest we use the god-talkers at once and use Eliz's help if needed. Perhaps Titania will lead her newly trained troops into the barrows with some sweet gear next season.

You can definitely try to get some weapons made from it. Armor was the tougher one because you need bigger pieces for that, or a LOT of good little pieces. But you could make two really impressive weapons of anything you like from those horns or from the skull itself. You CAN make armor out of it, too, possibly at the same time as you make weapons, but only a single, lighter set of armor if you make the weapons.

Or you could turn it into one big, heavy suit of armor.

(Note, folks: this sort of info I'll ALWAYS be happy to give. This isn't advice, but rather information that's very relevant and WOULD be clear to the PCs.)

Domagoj is a healer, meaning he can use magic. Ardghal can also use magic. Both of them are good alternatives to Eliz, who is presently on an adventure (and OH CRAP I DIDN'T SEND THAT PM YET). She'll be a good candidate for this sort of job once she's back in the next season, but for now you need to choose someone else.

I was thinking we could make a suit of armor and give it to Stormcaller as an "Eliz is an idiot, please forgive us" gift.

That's fair, in which case I would say we make a weapon and a lighter set of armor, keep the weapon, give them the armor.

Alright, healer guy will see if there are bad spirits about. I personally think a certain clan with the name Storm in it could be responsible though.

Wha-what! You think that clan Stormcaller, a clan that we made angry, that can call storms, would get angry at us and call storms? Hmmmm, this requires more careful thought, wouldn't want to jump to conclusions.
