@Shorticus WAIT!!! I have a super important question...actually, it's not that important. Out of curiosity, is it possible, over the course of this RP, for Clan Aonghus to return to Urland and kick the high king's bony arse? I was just curious. I mean, I figure, like the game this RP is based on, we'd need to either unite or dominate the Hidden Valley first. But is this part of your overall plan for the story? To have our characters return as vengeful conquerors bent on avenging themselves on the high king? I'm just wondering if Maire's personal goal, to return home, might actually be doable.

Further reason for an alliance between Maire and Ardghal. Maire wants to go home, Ardghal wants to mount the High King's taxidermied head on his wall.

@Mardox I'm all for it, good sir. If you want, after Maire and Serhiem talk, you can send Ardghal to Maire to propose some sort of alliance. Who knows? She might even accept =P

Personally, I think that should be our most distant objective, something we will be able to achieve wayyyyyyyyyyyy far in the future. The interesting part of the RP is surviving in a more-or-less hostile environment, making hard choices, and somehow succeeding despite it all...I think going and taking out the king would probably be something only achievable by our grandchildren.

@Babbysama Oh no, I get all that. I was just asking if it was possible. The clan needs to survive, grow in strength, and either unite or conquer the other clans living in the Hidden Valley first. I was simply curious to see what Shorticus had in mind in terms of the endgame, that's all. And to see if Maire's personal goal might actually be completed over the course of the RP.

@Lexicon

I would hope to unite the clans, however, it will be near impossible to unite every single clan. So I do have plans to conquer each clan. With what we know so far, I have devised strategies to destroy each clan while still maintaining the home front.

@Lexicon Ahh, I see I see. That definitely would be a fascinating end!

Speaking of "end" and referring to my previous comment about a dream only being realizable by our grandchildren, how possible would it be to play subsequent generations? Dunlad isn't the youngest, and he has two sons (Odo and Wenscel, who I haven't introduced yet because I'm lazy) that could succeed him when he dies. As we're going through the seasons, and accomplishing dangerous missions, I would expect one or two of us to shuffle off the mortal coil eventually. How would that work? And how would voting new members to the Council function?

Originally, when I was first starting this roleplay, that was not the plan. As player characters started getting made, however, I decided it felt like a LOT of PCs wanted to go and kick some High King ass, so now it IS on the table.

@Lauder What's that old saying? It's easier to catch flies with honey than vinegar? Maire's main problem with Eliz is just that. If you CAN ally with a clan then you should. Allies tend to do more for each other than terrified vassals. Obviously, if another clan were to attack ours then we would need to punish them. And I'm sure some clans would only respond to violence. However, if another clan is open to being loyal allies with Clan Aonghus then why destroy them at all?

@Lexicon

I just have plans in the case if war is what needs to happen. Eliz is playing card, along with Mardox's character, who will incite fear against the enemies (hopefully). I do want allies, but our enemies require us to fight, while yes Serhiem does want peace with everyone, he will fight when he needs to.

@Lauder Obviously. If we're feuding with a clan then chances are they won't be swayed by pretty words and gifts. But what's happening with Clan Stormcaller right now shouldn't be our clan's modus operandi. At least in Maire's eyes. We've just persuaded the Gearalti to become our trading partners, and we might be able to form close ties with Clan Andal. We don't want to lose what few allies we have over this whole incident. Fighting will be necessary at times, of course. But when it's not we should try to bind the fates of other clans to Clan Aonghus in other ways.

BTW guys, I was planning an expedition to stormpeak, a long term one. Miners, food, ect to excavate the blocked dwarf tunnel and the mountain in general. Also: harrass the nightfell. Maybe even a permanent settlement.

I'm typing some right now in a notepad document. I think I'm going to include them in each season update.

Constructing a permanent settlement at this point outside of your clan's territory is 100% out of the question. They'd be cut off from the clan and would get murderized. No questions. It'd happen. All the members of the Council would know that.

Sending a team to excavate the place, however, is plausible. But it can't be permanent.

@Shorticus shiiiiieeet.

Well, I was thinking of moving out towards the end of the harvest, as to move before winter and dig in peace.

Anyone with craftsman to accompany me?

You actually just need kerns, not Craftsmen. So, it should be easy enough. But you can bring someone else with you, certainly!
