Power Rangers: Strike Force

So I've spent a great deal of time and effort putting this little thing together, so I hope there's actually some good interested garnered. The year is 2121. Humanity has spread out across the stars and established colonies on a multitude of worlds. One such world is New Earth (maybe different name depending on future inspiration). Life on New Earth is good. People have thrived due to the multitude of untapped resources the planet holds. That is, until Galatec came.

Ten years ago Galatec, a multi-galactic corporation and superpower, arrived under the banner of peace and trade. The united government of New Earth established treaties and trade agreements which allowed Galatec access to the planet's resources, and in exchange they would provided goods and services to the good people of New Earth. What nobody saw coming was a corporate takeover of the most hostile variety. The products provided by Galatec were designed to make humans complacent, obedient, servants and sheep to their alien benefactors. When the time came, Galatec took over with no resistance, and now the entire population exists as slave labor to expand the corrupt company's resources and profit margin. There is no longer any hope...

No hope, that is, until five young men and women with attitude get access to some of the alien technology used by the oppressive regime, and use it to fight back! Together they are the Power Rangers Strike Force!

I would be looking for 5 rangers, 1 mentor figure, 1 assistant to the mentor, 1 villain, 2 generals for the villain, and way way waaay down the line a 6th ranger. The tone will be considerably darker than your standard Power Rangers fare.

Always up for Power Rangers. I'd be interested in playing either, a General, A Ranger or a Mentor. I'll see who wants to play what and make a character that is needed.

@Stern AlgorithmIn an oppressive world where even the very lights are designed to be bleak and cause a draining effect on the populace, the Strike Force teams costumes will be brightly colored with accents of neon to inspire the people. Additionally, the weapons of the Rangers will be made of hard light constructs (think Green Lantern style). Light plays a huge and important role here. The costumes themselves will look very streamlined and space inspired due to how these particular ranger powers were made. The mentor figure is going to be a middle manager for Galatec secretly working against them. Galatec is large enough that they've encountered other ranger teams on other worlds before, and they have won, thus confiscating their tech. So the mentor cobbled together what he (or she!) can from the remnants of past alien rangers.

Interested! How long down the line would there be a 6th ranger? (I'm interested as there could be some good concepts for it, like we've seen with the Green/White Ranger from Mighty Morphin'.

Now excuse me while I cry over the nostalgia this has given me. I'm completely fuming over how they've ruined the show since Samurai.

Question, is the color gonna be based from gender? Like Pink is Female, Yellow is Female and the others male?

@Wade Wilson Samurai was not good, but I found it bearable (at least until we got the incredibly disrespectful sexism there in the end). Megaforce... Is definitely my all time most hated season and I despise it. But Dino Charge has been very good. I've enjoyed it a lot.

@PrinceofheartsI am so glad you asked! No. I will not be placing gender restrictions on the colors. Unfortunately that's something that the show can't really change due to its dependence on the Sentai footage, but I have never believed in that. Want a male pink ranger? Go for it. Female red? By all means!

I haven't seen Dino Charge yet. I did find Samurai pretty intolerable close to the end, and both Megaforce & Super Megaforce was just... *shudders* I expected better, having seen little snippets of the Japanese version (Goseiger and Gokaiger was it?).

I'm gonna brush up on my lore etc. etc. and get to work on a character concept.

Second question! Can we say something cool after morphing like "Striker 1, online!" With each ranger having a different number? What are our morphers going to look like!!? Please tell me they aren't cell phones!!!

@KoukiWith as much thought as I have put into this so far, not all the details are fully fleshed out yet. The whole point of this thread was to make sure that I'd have enough players to actually warrant putting in the rest of the work before jumping off with it, but things are looking promising. And no, they won't be cell phones. Ugh. Waaaaay too damn many cell phone morphers. I hate that.
