How can you trust anyone less than Galatec?! XDDDD

Not me, Jonah. You've seen my Gurren Lagan-esque speech, you know my confident/idealistic side who "believes in people and everything"

Jonah doesn't have that.

For all Galatec's done, he knows why they're doing it, they're a business. He clearly understands their motives and can comprehend what they'd do to achieve said goals because he knows they lack the moral capacity/empathy to care. Essentially, he knows this enemy to an extent and so can approach and defend himself against them using simple methods based around logic and reason.

But as for these two. So far, they've displayed no remorse for potentially sending five strangers to their deaths simply because they made the choice that their lives before this didn't matter, using sarcastic quips about family members (who've they've also most likely gotten killed) and their personal ideals of freedom (which they clearly didn't care about when they kidnapped us) to justify being upset at the idea that random strangers might NOT want to die at their feet because THEY think it's a good idea.

Even their speeches of hope, to Jonah, are just loads of hot BS used to hide the fact that they have no real plan of action or any idea of how many more people will die from this revolution OR the world wide bouts of civil war that will most likely erupt once the giant power vacuum Galatec's absence creates tears the world a new one.

And yes, that's a totally negative view, both on them and on humanity as a whole because it greatly implies that people are so naturally shitty that they can't be trusted to regulate themselves. It's saying that they need a third party to tell them not to be murderers or thieves and other such terrible things, it's saying humans are better when they're docile.

Which, honestly, isn't wrong. People can be shitty. They can also be good but Jonah knows they don't always do the "right" thing when push comes to shove.

Essentially, 'better the devil you know than the devil you don't'

Jonah trusts cold logical things that he understands more than speeches because speeches mean you're willing to get whoever you want killed or destroy whatever you need to so long as it is convenient to the ideal you've made for yourself and that ideal can be constantly changing. That kind of thought process can lead to erratic decisions and justifications for doing shitty things on a daily basis because it's for the "greater good".

People have done horrible things in the name of some pretty "noble" ideals, that's why Jonah doesn't trust ideology. Not by choice, but by nature.

I'm assuming it will be one of his larger flaws as the story progresses. Anyone who doesn't trust their team, who, in a way, trusts the enemy more than their support, cannot possibly be as effective in the field as someone who is part of the team. Even if I say that his logical side will make up for it, the idea that he can do everything on his own is ridiculous.

I'm looking forward to seeing how our story goes on and I can't wait for our first morph!

Let's flash forward everyone!

And all of that shows exactly how desperate things are that we have to recruit absolutely anybody that qualifies. :P You know, Jonah and I would really not get along in real life, hahaha.

@ProPro

Oh, most definitely!

He'd probably annoy the shit out of you just by being in the room because his aura alone just says "I know you think I think I'm smarter than you because I am" and that's without talking to him.

Oh, he'll be civil, why I didn't have him say all of that ICly, because he knows it won't get them anywhere. So yeah, he may never say enough to get you pissed off but it kind of doesn't matter when you can instantly tell that he just doesn't quite give a shit about you and will quite quickly deconstruct and cut down your belief system simply because you deigned to say it out loud.

So yeah, he can be an ass-hole but hey, if I made him combat efficient, strategically sound AND with a personality that doesn't make you wanna slap him to boot...

That would be a perfect character and perfect is boring.

PS: I know, this is probably another "over thinking" and may mess with the suspension of disbelief for the plot but..

The reason you guys couldn't pick people from the rebel army was because....?

I mean, I know the OOC reason. It's just weird that the mentor/assistant would let this group of misfits have a chance before you asked people that may have actually been qualified.

Basing this on the assumption that only adults exist in the rebel factions which is statistically impossible, mainly because I know for a fact that at least one teenager exists among their ranks.

Also, half of us current rangers are in our 20's so that still wouldn't make sense.

EDIT: Hold on, your character is in his 20's!

Did I....miss something?

Did I totally jump the gun in the middle of a sentence due to some kind of unhealthy need to correct people and then create an argument based on information I couldn't even fathom the need to double check as I was writing said argument against what was clearly a joke?

AM I NOT PERFECT!?
.........
Nah, I'm good...

More likely, this is probably your fault somehow, Piercing but because I am the great Kouki, I will not hold this against you for you know not what you do little one.

...also, sorry..

@ProProUntil it became something my character would ask organically, yes, that was the plan, though I wasn't expecting you to actually answer. I was just hoping that you'd give a reaction that might let something slip. A sort of Batman gambit if you will #TropesArePower

But I'll stop now if it's against the rules....

On a different note, we have a yes from all parties involved now, right?

What's the exciting next step?

EDIT: Forget the last question, my brain missed the IC update, sorry again!
