@Aerandir We didn't attack her character. We were commenting on how unrealistic she was and how difficult she made her character to be interacted with. We never insulted it and we even said that it can be corrected. I guess she just took it the wrong way.

@Ambra while not insulting her, the fact remain she was told by multiple people After her outburst that no one noticed her character, not that they would edit their responses, but how unrealistic her character was. Though I agree with the statement of her character, her issue wasn't even remotely tied to be taken care of by anyone. (Save your post as there was a campfire) People would often take that as an 'attack' on them or their character. Which was why I tried to defend it so she wouldn't feel that way AND offered to modify my post, but it wasn't enough I suppose.

@Aerandir It's because it was DIFFICULT to interact with her in such a setting. Someone even said that instead of being nice his character would be suspicious. It even made sense. We suggested her nicely to change her character in such a way that would make it easier to interact with her. She didn't want to do that, so she left. I don't really think it's our fault for simply commenting on how unrealistic her character was and how she could change her slightly to become more approachable. ^^;

@Ambradont get me wrong I agree that she was very hard to approach and slightly unrealistic . I'm just saying from my perspective it could've been seen as an attack on her and her character but she clearly before this did not like constructive constructive criticism i'm over it now I was just trying to bring up that would've been a little hard on her but whatever he's gone I realize that it's probably mostly her for not wanting to deal with The issue

Plus, her character screamed 'mary sue' from the get go.

@tex Please avoid saying Mary Sue. It's just a pet peev of mine. The reason I don't like it is because it encompasses so many things that could be an issue.

Also I will say this I actually know some girls around the age of that character that could do all that with the deer except for dragging it. Also I personally want someone to say something about my character cause everytime I post I feel really reluctant to hit that blue button cause I can't tell if it is making sense to others or not or if it's reasonable.

I've always heard, and saw this much earlier in the guild (Like four years ago) Everyone threw it around as a character that was not, so to say, original. That you could easily see that they've were copies of another character from a different story, a published story. Someone with a history so common like

Ex. He lost his/her parents at a young age from a tragic accident/murder/whatever. Or the Silent 'emo' characters that are cool because they are mysterious, or that the Story line is based off and almost follows the well known story (of what ever)exactly, but with different names and places.

I guess i'm getting too into this, but it means in a nutshell that it is used often everyone finds it 'boring'.

Which I think is a load of crap. All famous stories of today usually tend to derive from a few myths just re-polished. The fact that they are still the same story with different names and places I think throws that idea out that they are boring, and those who use it in this manner are snobs....usually, not in every case.

It just boils down to 'being called a mary sue huwrts my feewings' and says nothing of substance beyond 'give constructive criticism' and reminds me of that retarded 'ban bossy' campaign bullshit that went down a long while ago.

The correct definition of a marysue is a character who's traits are far too 'perfect' and/or steals the spotlight by highlighting how great they are with unbelievable feats, horribly narcissistic IC commentary, or self indulgent nonsense that ruins the experience for everyone else.

I'm not going to abide by a censorship agenda, sorry. Marysue is a constructive form of criticism in and of itself.

People who take it personally, or use it as an attack, need to check themselves. They're the problem, not the term.

If people started using 'american' as an insult (Wait, they DO THAT ALREADY) it's not a viable solution to just ban the word american. It's a retarded and short sighted solution.

@tex Reading the definition you gave makes a lot more sense. The site that the blog corresponds with the term is literally thrown around at everything. I had no idea what the term meant so I asked someone and they said they didn't even know but they still used it. It is one of the many reasons I switched to this site. Ongoing Worlds has some good stuff but the majority is junk because of the users not caring as much.
