'Was it a good decision to join the program?', Julia asked herself while walking down a long corridor, escorted by guards with fireproof suits. Right after being imprisoned, there was a stranger who wanted to visit her. She was surprised, because she does not know anybody who would care for her existence or even anybody, who is still alive to do that. Terrible things had happened, because she had not been able to control herself. But then there was this stranger. Despite knowing about her abilities, he entered the room without fear, sat down, talked to her and made an offer to change her situation.
'You want to train me like a dog and use me like a weapon afterwards.', she thought while hearing his offer.'As if anybody could handle me without getting burned by himself.' There was no guard, who has not been burned once, no clothes, that have lastet for a week until they were destroyed. Julia looked down at her black fingertips. They looked like she had been digging in ash with her hands for hours. Her body could merely resist to the heat she was emitting and therefore she always felt like having a fever.
Somehow this conversation ended with Julia accepting the offer. Maybe his arguments were valid, maybe he used some pyscological trick to make her believe, this would be the right decision, or Julia was just to naive to think about the consequences. She only thought, if this was the chance to learn how to control herself, she would not want let this opportunity pass by. Even if it meant to become something she never thought she would be.
The guards stopped right infront of the door. It smelled like burned hair, because the tension made her body heat up and the tips of her hair began to char, but she was used to the smell.
The door opened and she came in, leaving the guards behind her. A room full of young people. One was running around like he was stung by something, one was steaming like a doused fire pit, one did not look like the others, because everything on her was pitchblack and some other people were staying or sitting around eating pizza. A buffet was set full of tasty dishes and Julia was very hungry. But everyone seemed upset in this situation and distracted by one person. Julia already knew him: The stranger she met in prison. Of course she would meet him again. But unlike in the conversation the two of them had, his presence now was cold and frightening. He was the one, who gives the orders and Julia did not want to be the first to see what happens, when somenone would not comply with them. Therefore she decided to stay at her place and watch.
