[IC] Lazulis

Kai sat with his legs resting on the chair in front of him, adjusting his gas mask every second or so. He wasn't sure he believed what the commander said about the pure air in this new place called Lazulis. Looking around, some of the other recruits were already comfortable, talking normally without any mask nor protection, but Kai wasn't gonna have that. He rather be safe than sorry. The humming of machinery droned on and he wondered how much longer until the commander decides on a safe place to land.

Wanting a change of scenery, rather than watching the others play card, Kai stepped outside the ship and leaned against the railing. Looking down, the place was beautiful. Their trees actually had shades of different colors, their sky was soft light blue, and even their water looked clear as glass. Kai let out a heavy sighed, "Apparently this is what Earth had looked previously before all the war," he thought to himself. The breeze from the wind felt nice, and the air seemed untainted. No smoke, no powder, no dust, and no radiation. Kai was almost tempted to rip off his mask and see what actual fresh air tasted like.

Glancing back at the front of the ship, he noticed the commander stiffly and tensely "navigating" the airship. Then the commander suddenly left the wheel and stomped towards them.

"Here we go again..." Kai mumbled to himself, rolling his eyes.

"Get off your lazy asses!" The commander yelled, his mouth scrunched up into a frown, "You're making me do all the work here. You call
yourselves the elites? The best? That's a bunch of bull shit!" He screamed on the top of his lungs, letting out all his frustrations. They all knew that they should stay quiet and let him run through his course, screaming at them and having spit fly everywhere. However, today, and just today, Kai felt like he just didn't want to hear any of it.

"Actually...all you’re doing is acting like a fake captain when we all know that you have it on auto pilot the entire time. We know the ship can fly itself" Kai said while shrugging, "You're just frustrated and terrified about this whole mission and decided to take it out on all of us," Kai continued nonchalantly. The commanders' face flushed red and he looked like he was gonna slap him. Squeezing his eye shut, Kai prepared for the impact, not caring anymore about the consequences of his words.

Terra, Mother Gaia, The World, Earth. The planet of man was one with many names, each as diverse as the creatures that inhabited it. It was only too bad that it's diversity was not without limitations. Limitations such as space and resources. Everyone knew that, but few knew it quite as well as the soldiers that fought for what little remained of the dying planet. Soldiers like Dimitri Collins. He'd grown up learning about the blue planet, how it's inhabitants descended into all out war.
Not many knew exactly what caused the third World War; some believed it was over religious differences, some because of territorial disputes, and others believed it was because there was simply no more space and sustenance to go around. Dimitri considered himself to be a part of that third group, though it hardly mattered now. In just a few short moments the planet earth and all of it's troubles would be long behind him. In a few moments, Dimitri would have a chance to start fresh

Dimitri was snapped from his daze by the familiar rapid clunking that was boots against a hard floor. The commander was apparently less than pleased with the idle behavior of the others, and he was only too eager to make this displeasure known. Dimitri kept his mouth firmly shut as the commander continued to heckle and demean the others. Even when you were no longer military the rules stayed the same wherever you went. When your C.O. talked, you shut up and listened unless spoken to. Everyone other soldier and security officer seemed to have the same mindset. Everyone else bar one.

Dimitri leaned over from his seated position as one of the younger members on board saw fit to call the commander out on his hypocritical nature. It took Dimitri a few seconds to recognize the guy because of the masks or helmets that everyone wore, but the word going around was that the guy took part in the colonization effort to prove something to his family. Dimitri wasn't all too sure whether it was true or not, but he felt for the kid a bit, especially if the rumor was actually true. The commander obviously did not share Dimitri's empathy. In fact, he looked about three seconds away from hitting the kid for his comment, and that simply would not do.
Dimitri wasn't stupid- he knew that if he tried to physically stop the commander he could either be shipped back to earth or imprisoned for an unspecified amount of time, such was the nature of the ranking system. Thankfully there were other ways to stop the commander without getting violent. Dimitri bolted up from his seat and stood at parade rest as he'd done so many times before, the action causing his dog tags to clink together softly on his chest. For a moment he looked at Kai, the younger man's reflection visible on Dimitri's visor for a split second before Dimitri's head snapped forward, "Sir! Permission to speak freely!" he barked curtly.

"Ugh today's so boring!" Kasi yelled while she sat with her legs crossed on top of the lake's surface. The water rippled as the Kitsune guardian stood up and stretched before she began to walk to the shore of the lake which was glittering with blue and white swirls of sand. Only a few days ago had a storm rolled through her forest caused by Kasi having a rather bad day which in turn caused her magic to go haywire at the time, but the damage that had been done such as the broken limbs of the trees and the disfigured beach had long since been repaired by those living in the forest and Kasi herself. As soon as Kasi stepped onto the sand her form changed into her fighting formand began to jump from tree to tree waving at the residence as she passed.

Kasandra loves the world of Lazulis, the fresh air that leaves you feeling rejuvenated, the clean water which fish freely swim in, and especially the clear blue sky the spread off into the horizon, it was the perfect place for her race as well as the others that dwell in the other biospheres on Lazulis. She jumped her way up to the top of tree canopy to where she could look up into the sky, her large ears perked up and swiveled around as the sound of running water broke through rather loud sound of the wind. She dived through the top layer of leaves and grasped a branch on the way down to break her own fall. She landed on her hands and knees and took off towards the river.

As Kasi ran through the forest she took great care to try and prune some of the flowers and fruit plants on the way, as well as grab some of her favorite fruits from high on the trees. The shiny midnight black skin of the star shaped fruit was devoid of any blemishes and the inside was a bright red that seemed to absolutely drip with juice, this was why she loved them. Kasi slowed down as she ate the fruit to not choke, and just walked until she reached the edge of the river where she sat and just dipped her the tips of her tails in the flowing water to cool off.
