Name: Jile On'yan
Age: 21
Race: Human
Appearance:
Common skills: Trade, Medicine, History
Fighting skills: Staff fighting
Magical skills: Arcane:
Magic missile: A bolt of magical energy, meant to stun enemies or, at higher strengths, hurt them. He can only make it harmful, and then only like a punch, if he uses his staff, which is slower.
Light: His hand or the staff glows. That's it.
Sooth pain: Light healing spell that mostly just stops pain, but when mixed with actual medical treatment can amplify the effect of the treatment.
Elemental:
Spark: Dry out and ignite small amounts of flammable material. Has been used to light candles, lanterns, and camp fires, though he doesn't have the control to make a freestanding flame.
Languages: Imperial, Elven, Orcish, Dwarven, some goblin, some draconic
Personality: I want to learn about the world. I'll need money to do that, though, so I'm willing to explore the new continent for the government to earn money.
Bio: The youngest son of a court wizard of a minor lord, he was quickly out-shined by his siblings. He tried to surpass them in his studies, but his age and the constant distractions he kept finding, interesting but relatively useless bits of information, slowed his progress. When he became an adult he had to support himself so he became a doctor, one of the few useful skills he had. He grew bored of it, though and started wondering what the new continent was like. His curiosity got the better of him and he decided to sign up for the next ship heading there, hoping to study the continent and maybe start a mage school or college there. He spent his last sixty gold on a fire ring before entering basic training, though he's had little practice with its elemental magic besides starting campfires and lighting candles and lanterns.
Equipment: Clothing; cloak; various pouches including medicinal herbs, medicines, bandages, and surgical equipment; mage staff; dagger; mortar and pestal; gold ring with a 2kt fire gem in it
Why did you join?: To explore the new world and learn about it, knowledge which is new to the people of the Empire.
