"Yes," said Jile after the hunter had explained things. "I want to trade with the natives. I want food and seeds. What do they want? Silver?" He held up a silver coin. "Iron?" He pointed to his belt buckle. "Tools?" He pointed to the smith's hammer.

"A pleasure." Harald said, releasing the man's hand. "Well, I've managed to keep everything in good repair around here. You could help in the mines I guess, but the goblins have run us off the silver mine and the iron mine's pulling in more than the smiths can use, so I don't think we really need it. Unless, of course, you want to help me get together some troops to go drive the gobs away.

If you want to help me expand the base, though, I'd like clear some more of the forest around the fort. Maybe start work on a stone wall five hundred feet or so from the fort's main wall so that we've got something better than a palisade wall between us and those undead that show up every full moon. If we cleared a bit of the forest maybe we could start building real houses for the people here, maybe even a farm or two for when we finally get someone that can grow a stuff properly.

Any of those sound good to you? I'm not really sure what I need to start on."

@TheUnknowableAgmundr started thinking. According to the information currently available to him, what was it what the fort needed most urgently ? Food and security! As far as he knew silver wasn't an important metal for making weapons, armor or building something, and it would take a while to drive the goblins out of the mine and get the operation going again. He concluded that on the bottom line, more could be achieved in the same amount of time by building an additional wall to gain a protected area for farming or doing other things.

"I opt for the forest" he said. Driving a saw or an axe should be something he would be fairly good at, and he wouldn't be exposed to very dim light where one could clearly see the light in his eyes... What an utterly useless feature of his undead existence this was! That glow was bright enough to tell everybody he wasn't completely normal, but it wasn't bright enough for him to read in the dark. It was just annoying! There was one question however that popped up in his mind and that he wanted an answer for immediately: "Erm... can you tell me when the next full moon will be ? I've lost track of time a bit during that cruise."

Zane nodded to the conversation between Jile, Jacque, and Mizzie. He did not know much about seeds and agriculture, but it seemed like that camp had come into some good fortune with the two of them. Mizzie, on the other hand, was quite intriguing. Having spent all of his time at work, this was the first time Zane had ever had a chance to meet her. He had quickly grasped that her skills in the Imperial language were basic at best, but she was doing an excellent job communicating her basic information. While the others spoke something about a market, Zane pondered the native that had entered their camp. 'What might she know about this land and be unable to tell us?' Zane thought for a brief moment before coming to a decision. He approached the girl and placed his hand upon his chest. "Zane. You meet later by outside walls? After dinner?" Zane gestured heavily to get his point across to her. After briefly awaiting her response, he started hurrying over to the smithy. The group seemed to have figured out where they were all going so he was free to go about his usual work. The enchanter had no need of him today, but he still had plenty of work to finish in the smithy. He returned to the smithy swiftly going about his business: quenching and putting the final touches on the short sword he had worked on earlier, general maintenance of the tools and materials they had in supply, taking inventory of the ore reserves they had, and finally finishing the engraving on the punch die to speed up the minting process for coins. While he and the main smith still needed to form the silver into the round planchet, the punch die would allow them to create a coin with two blows from the tool, speeding up their ability to produce the currency so long as they had the material. With that out of the way, the forge would be able to focus on more important projects that needed completion.

Work done, he ran over to the mess hall and grabbed several small bits of food, wrapping them in a piece of cloth and stuffing them into his apron pockets, occasionally grabbing a bite as he walked around the camp. The went toward the outside gates, giving a quick nod to the guards on duty as he passed through. Zane looked around at the New Continent's land so much larger than their small fort could ever be. With a quick sigh of tiredness, he turned to the outside walls and brought out his carving kit. A few moments later, the sounds of small hammering could be heard from his position.

"Oh, the next full moon is in..." Harald scratched his head. "Five nights. Don't worry, though, they've never been able to break through the gates. I'd much rather have charms to drive them away, like the natives, but the best our mages can come up with just drive away the weak ones." He then turned around and opened the door behind him. "Hey, you two, wake up. We're going to go start clearing the forest."

Two half-asleep orcs walked out of the building. "This is Zim and Zam," Harald said, motioning to them, the slightly taller one first. "At least that's what I call them. I was never good at pronouncing Orc names. They joined up so they wouldn't have to work the mines for the rest of their lives and got assigned to work for me, with me being in charge of the two mines."

"At least I get to be a lumberjack and a builder sometimes too." said Zim as Zam hand Harald and the new guy axes. "So, how did you get stuck on this team?" Zim asked Agmundr as they walked towards the gate.

@TheUnknowable"I came with the last ship, the one that arrived today. I was curious about this new continent, so I joined the forces." The revenant took the axe, gripping its shaft firmly with his large hands. "So, Zim and Zam, I'm Agmundr." He introduced himself to the Orcs just in case they had not been able to hear it the first time.

"So... shall we head out immediately ?" He moved his head in a suggestive way. Agmundr didn't speak it out loudly, but he would really appreciate it if the forest was done before his less well-mannered 'colleagues' had their day.
