Sorry I'm taking so long to make my character guys! I'm getting on it right away. I had a friend over for the weekend, and I work every Saturday and Sunday morning, so i don't usually have much time haha. I'm hoping to get her done before nine tonight, assuming my step father doesn't want anything before then.

@ViolentViolet You're fine VV, if you're done by then there'll be plenty of time to pick you up before we leave for the forest, and if not then there are enough reasons to be meandering the edge of the village, everything from exploring to herbs to hunting to just wanting some solitude.

As for my dragon, I think I might do my own guys... Just because as the GM I'm going to need a bit more freedom to wiggle around and manage everything that needs managing and being where someone needs to be.

Sorry if this is a little barebones I'd like to expand upon Onam's character while playing but at least I didn't do a crappy job either:

Personality:
Onam, like his rider, is incredibly rebellious and chafes under rules. He is often reckless, willing to put his life at stake on a daily basis to fight for what he believes in. This compliments Gren’s stubborn behavior, but also clashes with his typically logical state of mind. Fortunately, Onam values Gren’s word over his own in all but the most extreme of circumstances.

I do expect the characters to be a bit bareboned in the beginning, especially the dragons seeing as they're like zero years old and barely even aware of themselves (except for certain impatient someones :P). These chars are going to have a lot of development, going from small town nobodies to powerful beings bound to another's life and mind, learning the secrets of the world, struggling against a god-king-esque man bent on their enslavement or death, and that's not even it. People will be watching them with hope and fear, expectations and responsabilities will be heaped on them, and the leaders of the world will be appearing daily in their lives, the most renowned, respected, and powerful individuals in the world- the pressure and the situations they'll be in will definitely give everyone loads of opportunity to show their colors and grow as people.

Oh right, I was making a dragon character sheet! Hah, I just spent the last half hour absorbed in learning the ancient language. It's actually pretty interesting, but time for that later. Galen doesn't know the ancient language after all, so he's not going to get a name from there.

Anyone else struggled with what color to make their dragon? Saphira is blue, Glaedr is yellow, Thorn is red, and Firnen is green. That covers quite a few colors with just the canon dragons, I think duplicates are unavoidable here. Slight variations will have to do.

Oh, and gods. I've only found the humans have a God of death, there must be more, and I've found only one story involving a maiden who wished for a perfect husband and got some random man via wild magic. Neither the God of death nor the random magic man are appealing to me as inspirations for Galen to suggest as names to his dragon. Does anyone mind if I invent a few legends and/or deities to use as his inspiration?

Personality: Curious and thoughtful, Kolysakr is very observant of his environment. He was perhaps a bad choice to choose as a rider's dragon as he prefers privacy and independence, yet contrary to this he feels an echoing loneliness from his long years as an egg and is eager to make a friend to care for and be cared for. It is a rider that shares his desire for companionship and unrestrained acceptance yet is also a private and separate person that would prompt him to finally hatch.

@Ceta de Cloyes How do you mean for our characters to learn the Ancient Language and magic? We don't have a mentor like Eragon did, unless you have something planned.

I could say that Alph knows a little from his travels, and picks some more up from deciphering the letters, but that might be kind of a stretch.

Do you have an idea already?

I ask because I mean for Alph to be pretty heavily magic based, probably a very creative spellcaster if I can manage.
