[OOC] Fabula Elysia - Medieval Fantasy Nationgame

I plan on claiming a good chunk of the archipelago to the east. I'll bounce a couple of ideas off of you guys:

•Tribes of barabaric beastmen/werebeasts with an environmental kick. Captain Planet meets RULES OF NATURE. Shamanistic, a lot of fantasy monsters, more magical than most. Lots of FIRE and BLOOD in their motifs.

•Far-east styled bugpeople. Different islands are home to a different vaguely-racist ripoff castes of bugperson, that live in a sort of federation of mutual convenience. Expect "FLITHY MAMMAL GAIJIN, CHITIN SWORD FOLDED THOUSAND TIMES FAR SUPERIOR."

We have nearly 30 potential players. I'd rather not have one player getting a large chunk of land at the expense of others.
Besides wouldn't it be more fun if 5-6 player are competing on those islands?
At best we can say that players wishing to play as bug people are far more welcome to claim territory there.

Well, by "large chunk of land," I mean this area.

That's one vote for the Sunrise Islands, polling against the Hellmouth Islands. Still torn on the issue, personally.

Oh I meant the group of islands nearly forming a sphere at south-east.
Yeah, I think that much is fine.
Personally I am still thinking how to position my nation at the center to be an important trade transit while also not occupying that much land.
I would rather not become a hypocrite.

actually, the political structure I'llbe going for would conduct itself well to some member states of my nation acting in their own interests. (I.E. another player). So there's some room for intrigue within as well.

Just posting to say once again that while I'll be waiting for Finals to come and be done, I'm definitely still interested. It'll be a few weeks, but I'll be watching, and I may converse with y'all.

I kind of like being able to pick my nation's themes after others have chosen. It lets me both A) make my nation similar to others so the world is more cohesive and whole and B) do something to make my nation distinct.

Fair question, I'd say they should be edited out of the map, so you can have free roam of your names. Feel free to not name your cities and nations based on the map. Enjoy freedom.

EDIT: Willy, we should really mark all the claims down and update the OP map with them to avoid bumping heads.
