"So you're going to give up?" Oner looked at Ascot now, not able to believe that he just thought that he should give up. "You made mistakes. We all make mistakes and improve by learning from them. No one is perfect and no one is always right as if that was the case then this universe would be a somewhat dull place". Oner then thought on him finding strength in just four worlds, which was a bit strange. "Ascot you have always had true strength, but it has just taken you this long to find it within. Finding it does not have a pre-determined amount of time. It could take some people years and others it could take just a moment. You have found that strength... you just have to reach out and take it. You have accepted the things within yourself and now you must begin to polish what you think makes you strong while fixing what you think makes you weak. Only then, through this hard work, can you attain true strength".
"But..." Oner's eyes narrowed a little as he took a step back from the bed, now standing at the foot of it as his eyes narrowed on Ascot's. "If you truly want to go home, I will not stop you. Just remember this though. Aslan believed in you. Joshua, Thomas, Amaya, Reno, and myself... we all believe in you. King Mickey would not have summoned you here if he did not think you couldn't handle this mission. You have met many people throughout this journey and they have all believed in you. It seems that the only person that doesn't believe in you though is yourself... and if you want to go home then I will not stop you. Just remember though that if you do then you will be insulting their belief in you, but most importantly you will be letting yourself down as well".
That was all Oner had to say on that. "This is your choice. Only you can make it Ascot. No one else but you has the power to do decide what you want to do. No one can control you but yourself. Not Satoko with her strings, not the Six Senses with their methods... no one but you. You have to decide your fate on your own..."
After that Oner went silent, leaving Ascot with these words and a choice to make as suddenly Belle entered the room. "Ah, Belle, good to see you again". When Belle handed him the letter he opened it, looking at it once before looking around the room for a mirror. Luckily there was one, in the corner of the room. "Well, its blank actually". The Mirror Child showed Belle the paper, nothing being written upon it. "The Mirror Tongue can only be read in the Mirror Realm. To read it in this realm though... one must use a mirror, but even then it cannot be read unless something special is done with the mirror. That is why I could not read it before...because I did not know what I needed to do, nor could I read the Mirror Tongue myself"
Suddenly though the circle on Oner's head glowed for a small moment, the boy closing his eyes and taking in a deep breath before letting one out. "So... you are finally awake now Reno. You slept very deeply for quite a while, not even aware of the world around you as you slept. But that is to be expected since it has been 5 years since your last true rest". Suddenly the circle on Oner's head glowed with a small light for a moment, that light turning into pure darkness, but a very serene, calm, and peaceful darkness. The lines going down from the circle turned black as Oner's hair now turned a pale white, looking like Reno's hair looked before. The boy's skin turned a small bit paler and when he opened his eyes the eye that was green before was now red and vice versa.
"Mmmnnn..." Oner(?) stretched for a moment, now floating just an inch off the ground. "You were right Oner, that was the best sleep I ever had. Trancing really is a cool way to sleep". He then looked around the room first at Ascot, then at Belle. "Ring, Apricot. So good to see you two again. So apparently I'm something called a Denizen of the Mirror and not a human. Oner is better at explaining it, but pretty much I'm some sort of being with two existences sharing a single existence... or something like that. Oner can explain it better, so you should ask him". He grinned, going over to the mirror and looking at himself in it, poking his pointy, elf-like ears for a few moments in a curious manner. Then his attention, the span of which being ridiculously short as it was Reno who was out now, shifted to the letter in his hand.
"Right, so according to Oner for the two of us to read the letter I have to..." He stood in front of the mirror, holding the blank letter as if reading it. Suddenly the black circle on his forehead glowed with that same pure, serene darkness as the reflection in the mirror changed. What was Reno reflected in the mirror became Oner, who was also holding the letter that Reno was holding, the white circle on Oner's forehead glowing softly with a pure light. Suddenly though the letter in the mirror that Oner was holding in it also seemed to change. It was no longer a letter or even paper for that matter, but instead floating text in an impossible to read for all of the others in the room language. It still appeared though as if Oner was holding something judging by how his hands were.
"Wow, that's awesome! So Oner, what does it say, what does it say?" Reno was looking at Oner in the mirror, no longer holding the letter as if he were reading it, quite excited by what was going on. Despite that though Oner still was holding something invisible and reading the floating text. It was as if Oner had stepped into the mirror and replaced Reno's reflection within it, or something like that, as Reno in the room and Oner in the mirror were clearly not doing the same things like a reflection of a person in the mirror should. Suddenly Oner began to speak, but what he said was completely incomprehensible. Reno seemed to understand it perfectly though.
After reading off the floating text Oner gave a nod to Reno, the circles on their heads ceasing their glowing before the reflection in the mirror vanished, leaving just Reno's ordinary reflection. Then Reno's hair turned jet black and the rest of his appearance changed once again, indicating that now Oner was present. "Well, there you have it. The letter is from our parents. They are... apologizing for having to send us away from our realm. They said that they did not wish to, but had no other choice as to help us with our terrible illness they knew that we would have to live in this realm where people only have one self. Included in this here letter are also instructions on how to return to the Mirror Realm if we ever desire to do so and even how to come back here afterwards..."
Oner gently folded up the letter, placing it within the envelope before closing it. He smiled softly at the envelope for a moment before putting it away into his inventory. "Even though the reason why they sent us away was present in the memories they left for us to receive when we awakened... it is still nice to read it in the form of a letter..."
